scannon Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 What a great concept! http://wheels.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/11/11/fords-trick-trackey-for-the-2012-mustang-boss-302/ Some of us might be tempted to use it on the street as well.
escondidoron Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 So does this make the standard key the valet key?
scannon Posted November 12, 2010 Author Posted November 12, 2010 I would hope there is a valet key that limits the engine to about 75 HP.

Hank Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 Kickass idea! I don't have a key in the busa. Weight savings everywhere!
WestTexasS2K Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 7evin has something similar in his car. He has a switch on the dash. In the gas mode lower boost less power. In alcohol mode more boost more power about 100 up more. The extra wheel spin comes with both modes.
slngsht Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 When we had the FSAE car at school, for new drivers, we had an extension to the stop bolt for the throttle. Not as high tech, but got the job done.
Kitcat Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 My '08 M3 has a power button that re-calibrates the engine. If I hit it when accelerating, the car leaps forward. Interesting that the Mustang GT now offers the same performance as my car for about $30K less. The Boss 302 should leave me in its dust, and still will cost less $. Ford seems to be on a roll. Glad to see it.
11Budlite Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Ford seems to be on a roll. Glad to see it. Me too, I'm glad to see any American manufacturer do well at this point... My Emerald K3 ECU has three separate maps that are switchable on the fly. Check it out here: http://www.emeraldm3d.com/em_k3.html
