Croc Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 This was for sale on the Lotus Owners of NY (LOONY) site for a while. Looks nicely presented.
supersportsp Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 This was for sale on the Lotus Owners of NY (LOONY) site for a while. Looks nicely presented. For a while is an understatement. This car has been advertised for years. I think it was available right after I bought my car...three years ago. It does look nice though.
11Budlite Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Back on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2000-Caterham-Seven-Ford-Zetec-Lotus-Seven-/300600822268?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item45fd3489fc
MBEARDEN Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 It didn't make reserve the first time...bid was low $28s.
glenntwincam Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 drove this car 3 years ago , nice basic car, was for sale on USA7s beginning of this year . if anyone has ? about condition . PM me .
Dave Nichols Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 I remember it from the Loony site. I think if it were priced at $26,000 it would be a steal but $30K is pushing it.
Kitcat Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 That car has popped up here periodically over the years. The consensus is it's a nice car but the owner wants too much for it ($30K+). For a base car (bare aluminum, non-adjustable bench seats, 3 pt belts, standard roll-over bar), I agree $26K seems more reasonable, even w/the Zetec. The seller is clearly in no hurry to make a sale.
mrmustang Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 Car is being shilled again :ack: Bill S. PS: Don't let the low post count fool you, I've lurked here for a LLLLllllllooooooonnnnnngggggggggg time
BruceBowker Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 Shilled - think it means friends are trying to get the price higher with "false" bids
rikker Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Ah That makes sense here So that is why even when a bidder gets to within a few $ close of reserve the seller never sells Very sneaky
mrmustang Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Shilled - think it means friends are trying to get the price higher with "false" bids Correct Ah That makes sense here So that is why even when a bidder gets to within a few $ close of reserve the seller never sells Very sneaky Over and over and over again. There are signs to watch for on Ebay, some are glaring in this sellers case as he hopes to sucker someone into bidding at the last minute without thinking. Bill S.
mrmustang Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 Any bets on when this will pop back up Last time he waited 20 days till he relisted it again. :toetap05:
Kess Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 I could not figure out why when the price was only $900 away from the buy it now price that it did not sell. I know I would have dropped my reserve on a $30K asking price by $900 to sell especially after 3+ years of trying. I never thought much about the practice of shilling, but that could explain it. Looks like a nice car just more then I would pay for it. It should come up again soon! Gary
rikker Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 From what I can now see Gary it is a common problem on there
mrmustang Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 That's odd It was te listed for 4 hours? Not according to Ebays seller history feature post a link to it
