WestTexasS2K
Wow that is pretty quick. 7evins car is about the same power level now. It is really sick, but a weighs a bit more. That Westfield is a definite beast. He was pushing pretty hard. He definitely has some driving skill. He dropped a wheel several times and didn't lose it. BusaNostra
that power to weight ratio is in the area of the F1 he's pushing it hard but look like he's only half way The engine is Sierra cosworth with turbo .70a/r compressor. I think the owner spent almost 50,000 (pounds).
The Stig
The way that wheel gets wrenched I am surprised he is still pointing straight ahead. Must be a well balanced car! And some good driving.
scannon
How do you figure BHP per tonne? Is that a metric ton (1,000 kg) or a 2,000 lb ton like we use on this side of the pond? Do you use wheel or engine HP?
Sean
BHP = brake horsepower (at the engine) tonne = 1,000 kg
BusaNostra
sounds like a turbofan -- interested to see how that car run in straight line say bonneville flat or climb to pike peak -- that's pretty awesome setup. Never seen one 7 like that.
WestTexasS2K
What do you think a turbo Westfield weighs? 1200-1250 lbs?
BusaNostra
What do you think a turbo Westfield weighs? 1200-1250 lbs? West---Since you are racing the big boys --- maybe you can do the same. I don't know how much it weigh Red car made 549 horses (481@the wheels and 480ft/lb torque) with a GT3076 turbo White car made 515 horses (440@the wheels and 460ft/lb torque) with a GT3071 turbo They both weigh 680kgs so red car has a touch over 800BHP per tonne and the white one a touch over 750 per tonne. Both run Elite 6 speed sequential gearboxes with gripper plated diffs. http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/6605/cosworthi.jpg http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/7516/cosworth2.jpg
Mondo
When he goes down that straight it reminds me of my ride with 7evin... never gone that quick/fast in my life! The accelleration in the upper gears was unbelievable. That guy in video (and 7evin) must have a hard time walking with those sets of balls. WestTexasS2K
The turbo is making more torque for sure. 7evins car did 430rwhp 338 ft/lbs it was running rich and they couldn't get the HKS to communicate to the laptop to make any adjustments. Worked on that issue for 5 hours. Something was wrong with Kenny's tuning key. HKS pulled out of the US market and we think disabled all the tuning keys. So he is stuck with current tune for now. Kenny felt he could get 460 to 475 out of it. 7evin really needs a sequential trans. You just can't shift fast enough the first three gears. I had been looking at the Elite transmissions myself for my new car. They are pricey but not as bad as Quaife.

porkie
hi guys, thats my car and be driving/playing one of my mates just sent me link to this forum. Thanks for compliments on the car. Its certainly pretty quick and alot of fun. It wasnt built for ultimate lap times or as a competition car... just as something to thrill me and scare me and challenge my driving skills! I'm lucky to have few other toys that are bit purer and more usable and sensible so just wanted a total scary monster of a car! and this is the result.... (although its still 100% road legal and registered and I can and have driven it on road loads! as has my 63 year old mum!) Thanks again for the great comments. Pleased you like it and if any of you are ever in UK. Then I'd be glad to take you out or let you have a drive Any questions let me know! Cars in bits in my garage at moment. My mate is doing really nice refresh and tidy up... should be back even better and faster! Was only running maybe 400bhp in that video... it has LOTS more to give! The water injection system had failed that day so I had to limit the boost as charge temps were getting silly. The car... see I even took it out in wet once... BAD idea! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0603/Porkie/Westfield/Bedford28-Aug-2011019-1.jpg
