Croc
Tom has arranged it so we are all in one group. Yellow would be an appropriate color for us given how much of it was waved on the weekend...
Croc
Your Honor, in Croc's defense it was only 3 times in one session, another time earlier in the day. Good devensive driving saved him twice. The Mazdas were driven by the local police department, wish I could have ticked them. Ummm....it was 4 in session 2 and once in session 4. The last one was when the local yokel police man pretending he was in an SCCA race ran me off the end of the straight at 100mph. He forgot I was there even though he was being pointed past by me. :svengo:

Yellow would be an appropriate color for us given how much of it was waved on the weekend... Just confirmed with Jeremy and he has us all in the Yellow group. Now just make sure that you are not the cause of any Yellow, Black or Red flags, PLEASE!!!! :cooldude: Also don't forget your signed off tech forms. bball7754
Tom - Thanks. Passing rules are different between the two Intermediate groups. Looks like we can pass anywhere. Steve
yellowss7
Yes but with a POINT BY. Usually in trackday parlance a "train" is a slow moving group of cars held up by a really slow car at the front. I think we are going to redefine it as a mess o seven's going by en masse. :jester: I told him that we were a group of 7 owners who enjoyed using their cars as they were meant to be used safely on track. I guess I lied a bit when I added that we are all adults and responsible. :jester::jester: I invited the organizers to join us for refreshments after tech on Friday evening just to get on their good side before Croc starts his gardening. Remember these guys can toss you after a couple of spins or offs. They are not as lenient as at our Member Days. Tom
DaveD
I don't recall seeing any information on how to check in for the track side suites on Friday evening. Is this done at the entrance?
yellowss7
Dave, check in is usually after 5pm. The guard at the front entrance usually has the keys but sometimes they don't and will send you over to the main office which is located in the clubhouse/pub on the right as you enter. I think the plan is to take the trailers over to Lightning and drop them off there and we might just set up the tents, and coolers while we wait for tech to open. Sabbot
So I just got around to looking at the paperwork for the trackdaze event at NJMP and noticed that the tech inspection should be completed before the event by a "inspector familiar with the car". With the exception of the NJ emissions inspection all the work on the car has been done by me - anybody know if trackdaze will allow self inspection and sign off for the event? Croc
Pit suite check in is anytime after 3.30pm. Before 5pm the keys will be located at the main office/pub/clubhouse building. After 5pm they are at the gatehouse at the main entrance. Stewart - Self tech is accepted. Just tick off the form and sign it to show it was done completely. I have an email from the organizers confirming this. They will also tech the car themselves on the Fri night or Sat morning. Last call - Apart from Steve (Bball) does anyone need loan of a camera or a powered external mic (better sound) for the 2 days? Let me know so I can arrange for you. Kitcat
Croc: My external mic is not working, I will troubleshoot it tonite but it wld be nice to have a back up. Self tech: I did my nut and bolt ck yesterday, will finish today. Never knew the car had so many. Most, but not all, were tight. Unsurprisingly, the impossible to reach ones were loose. I decided to skip my trusty mechanic when the purchaser of my Birkin advised me of the many loose bolts on the car, incl in rear suspension (wh/could be hand tightened) and engine mounts. So, I have adopted the "Best to pack your own parachute" philosophy, at least for something this basic.
Croc
I like to paint my nuts so when it comes loose you can instantly see when it has lost torque. Extra mic and batteries in the bag for you Mike.

bball7754
I'll be driving down from north NJ on Friday. Based on my experience last year, assume I should avoid the NJ Turnpike and come down on the GS Parkway? Looks like the construction is still going on. DaveD
Mike, I just got done making myself a roll bar mount for my camera last night. I have not looked into an external mic yet (probably a little late now) so if you have an extra I would be much appreciative. Dave

Steve Steve - The turnpike is a disaster no matter which way you look at it. The merge at exit 8A (Cranbury) is always bad. The following stretch from there to 7A where I-195 branches off, is always the worst. Usually pretty clear after that. I would consider exiting at 7A and taking I-195 to I-295 south and then following that down to Rt42 East. This exit of I-295 (middle lane of I-295) places you in the Rt42 lane which then exits to Rt55 south and is a nice easy flowing ride with a trailer. Exit off Rt 55 at exit 24 as this makes it a straight through downtown on Main street - easier with a trailer. This is the way I prefer.
Croc
Dave - Got you marked down for a mic. I assume you have the skeleton case to be able to take a mic input to the camera?
Kitcat
Croc, yes, I drilled a hole in the plastic case (you'd think that mite have occured to GoPro to do?) and used it last year at NJMP and got great sound, now nuttin. Still playing with it, we shall see, hoping it's the mic.

OOPs...I did not think of that. I will have it drilled out. I wanted to do that anyway. Thanks Mike.
