They look huge! What size tire?

They're whoppers! :ack: Avon (A11 compound) 10x23.5x16 front (10x16 wheel) and 11x23.5x16 rear (12x16 wheel).

It's too late for this answer to do you any good, but I always check out http://www.wheelweights.net/ when picking track wheels. Wheel weight is the most important weight on the car since it is both unsprung and rotating. I could tell a distinct difference in my Elise when I went from the stock sport pack wheels (13.2 lbs) to Volk CE28Ns (9.1 lbs).

Thanks. :cheers: The wheels are the result of several months of research on my part as well as collaboration with Roger Kraus Racing, Keizer Wheels, and eventually, Bogart Racing. Nothing against Keizer, but Bogart won out because of Rich Bogart’s above-par willingness to work with me one-on-one in meeting my wheel needs. There wasn't a single time when we talked that he didn't treat me like I was his only customer.

 

After committing to making the move to the larger Avon 16” slicks, Rich began working with me on ways to reduce wheel weight and decrease rotational mass. This twofold goal was met by keeping overall wheel circumference (in areas where practical) as small as possible. We settled on using 15” wheel centers and basically built 15” wheels until you get to the 16” mounting flange. Below is photo that illustrates the result.

 

I haven't weighed the wheels yet, but I believe overall un-sprung weight will very likely end up being reduced by around 20% with respect to the heavier Summit Racing 15" wheels I've been running.

I pulled the trigger on track wheels and tires this week also (its that time of year I guess).

 

I decided on 23x9.5x15 Hoosier Road Race Slick Radials. I am a 20 minute drive from Berget Racing Tires, so going used made sense. The ones I got are at about 80%. Thanks SCCA run off participants!

I ordered a set of 15x10 Diamond Racing Wheels. Much heavier than I would like, but I got the whole set for less than a pair of custom aluminum wheels. I figure I need to get the car on track (and almost on budget) this year. I can upgrade next year.

A photo of the wheel faces are on page four of this thread. I haven't weighed them yet, but the wheel/tire combos (both front and rear) are noticeably lighter than the my previous front/rear 15x10 setup.

Anyway, they're mounted . . . . . here ya' go.

Xcarguy: The Uber-se7en, very fierce looking! Wld love to see a 1/4 mile time. Wonder if it wld be faster than the new McClaren time posted elsewhere here at 9.98?

Nost sure what 1/4 mile time would be; would take a better driver than me to find out. :D To truly test the car's potential on the strip, it would need a drag slick (maybe 15") with a taller/softer sidewall, softer rear springs (my opinion), preferably, a set of drag shocks (again, my opinion) and a good launch strategy. :ack: John Meyer, when he owned his LS3-powered Stalker, ran a 1/4 mile time of 9.94 with a trap speed 141.5 at Run-n-Gun. If I remember correctly, John was launching in second gear and still getting tire spin. In all fairness, I do not know what his suspension setup was for the quarter mile during that event.
