Shane, you best watch out for Kitcat and don't let him get behind you. His nickname from our first outing was the "Blue Enema" :driving: He'll run right up your rear. :smilielol5:

Looks like I have a reputation to live down to:)!

xcarguy: If you look at the track we will be running both days you will see the potential to run away and hide from the rest of us due to your "ground effects" wings/splitter etc.

Specifically, the bowl, or 'light-bulb' that leads to the straight can be entered at around 80-85 mph, then down to around 60-65 mph at slowest part of apex, at bottom of the bowl, then accelerating up other side of it and entering the straight at 90-110 mph, depending on hp. I suspect, since it is such a long and high speed curve, you will be 20 mph faster, all the way thru. And then all that hp will kick in and you will blast down the straight. Shd be a good test of your new (and vital) Accusump system. Otherwise kaboom.

BTW, Tom/Croc: plz add some links to past se7ens video of this track (or post new video). For those who have never been there or for folks, like me, who haven't been there in a year.

Mike,

I'm not so sure about running away and hiding. Judging from the vids I've been watching (studying), no slackers in this crowd. The only expectation I have is 'to have' a fantastic time. However, I am hoping for on-track 'za-zoom' and no 'kaboom'. :ack:

Good response so far, 15 drivers and 3 spectators have provided the requested info. Still hoping for 8 more potential drivers and a couple more spectators to respond based on the original interest. I'm hitting the track tomorrow and will turn in the first batch of driver histories to the track Admin.

looking at the required experience list i think i will not be able to attend this event :( . on a positive note, i did get 2 sets of slicks (unintentionally) that will need to be burned off... so i hope i can get on the track to earn my way into these types of events.

Roman, no track experience is required to run in the Novice (green) run group. Instruction and instructors are provided, and you follow a pace car to learn the track and lines thru the turns. No passing is allowed so you can concentrate on driving and learning the track. It's a great way to get track experience in a safe, progressive fashion. You will pick it up quickly as the track doesn't change, unlike an autox course.

Well, Roman, there you have it . . . . . no excuses now. :jester:

And a few other things Roman - you will almost certainly be running with other sevens in that green group too and its cheaper than most HPDE offered. So come on down and join in the fun.

Roman,

Do peanut butter and jelly go together? :jester:

Okay, seriously, I'd think yes, but I'm sure Croc or yellowss7 will chime in with a real answer.

Roman - Either tires would be fine. I would use the cheaper ones and save the super stickies for your autox when times matter.

i have one set of 4 hoosier FA and one set 4 hoosier r25b. i think they will harden up before i will get all their life out as im not a regular at events like some people :)

Slicks are slicks as far as I'm concerned. I've been running the same Hoosier R25Bs that I use to autox on and I've been very pleased with the grip and how they last. The FA's might be a little harder, but it's going to be July so Global warming probably will be in full effect by then, and they should be fine as well. Either set should give you a tremendous amount of grip. This is all about being smooth compared to autoxing that requires a bit more unsettling the car IMO. You will be progressively ramped up on speed, and confidence as the sessions progress. You won't be out to set the track record on the first day.:driving: Pick a set and have fun.

was just not click educated. did not want to bring tires that would fall apart. i will look to go at least one day with the FA's if i get my brackets installed properly.

I get 10 or so trackdays, 4-5, 25 minute sessions, on my soft R25B compound hoosiers. They still have plenty of rubber left, but they seem to get a bit harder and slower. To keep up with the big dogs, I change to a new set. 40-50 heat cycles is unheard of for heavier cars.

Just an update. We now have 17 Drivers who have submitted their info and have indicated that they are planning on attending the event.:hurray:

We also have 3 or 4 spectator groups that also have declared their intent to join us.

Those of you who are still thinking about joining us still have time to get your cars ready. We are just over 2 months out. The track has not yet opened registration for the event, but we expect that to happen in the next two to three weeks. We will email you the information when it becomes available. So start shining up your se7ens!

I just sent in my info to the site and have also reserved one of the track side VIP suites for 7/3/14 thru 7/7/14. I'm not sure if the wife will join me, kind of a tricky situation since the 5th of July is our 45th anniversary, not an ideal timing of events. looking forward to attending this event and meeting all the guys from the forum.

Mike,

I did a track day at MSR Cresson on March 22. The wife (and kids) were with me . . . . It was our 16th wedding anniversy. :)
