Yet another tire thread!

Replacing some 16 inch HPC wagon wheels on a 2003 de dion Caterham with some 13 inch wheels (6x13 front and 8x13 rear). Use of car will be touring and some odd track days. What is recommended for an appropriate tire from this esteemed group of Seven experts? Sizing suggestions are welcomed based on what others are using.

I could use CR500 but ringing around yesterday was showing out of stock on the 8 inch rear option.

Thanks in advance.

Kumho V70A 175 front -215 rear on those rims.

Toyo 888s are available in 185 for the front and 205 or 225 for the rear.

Aspect ratios are between 60 for the fronts and 45 for the rears.

Unfortunately that Kumho is no longer available in the US. I've run the R888 for back road and touring use, and wouldn't hesitate to go that route again. It works really well except in heavy rain. Personally I prefer the RA-1, which has a slightly softer sidewall (10% according to Toyo), but they are no longer available here in 185/60-13, so you'd need to go with 205/60-13 all around.

Well...after a bit of a chat with Roger Krause (what a great guy!), I settled on Avon ZZR. Fronts are 185/55/13. Rears are 215/55/13.

Wheels arrived today in a pile of foam peanuts - it was like Christmas!

Croc, what do you think of the ZZRs so far? I'm likely due for another set of tires by the middle/end of the summer and I've been debating between the ZZRs and the CR500s.

ZZRs win - no question. Same life expectancy but more grip consistently. Roger Krause was similarly enthusiastic when I was chatting with him. Not sure I would want to use them much in the rain with standing water on the road - there is not much tread pattern there!
