I know that Dino and I have mentioned our car on this forum many times, but without any pics. Here it finally is. Al Navarro, Meet your twin

This SR27 features a 2.0L Nissan SR20 DET motor and 5 speed manual, Garrett GT28 turbo, Miata 6" LSD, & 16" 3 Piece Panasport C8 race wheels just to name a few of the goodies. This car has about 350 HP for those who are wondering :D

Very nice.

I like the color a lot.

Looks fast just sitting their.

Oh and a good choice for photo backround, Makes the car standout even more.

Very nice. Please post some more pictures of the engine and of the intercooler with the nose cone off.

Will a 6" Miata diff really take 350 HP?

Actually I found out the hard way that it will not. I cracked the diff housing today when messing around with 2005 BMW M3 that has around 500whp (Stage III Active Autowerks Supercharged). I did pull on him too before the diff gave out. I'll be posting more pics later on. Thanks for all the kind words.

The word in the Miata world is the '90 - '93 6" diff will take no more than 200 whp and only then if you have some mechanical empathy. Their viscous LSDs are basically worthless, quickly becoming open diffs. The '94 and up Torsen diffs are good for around 300 whp. With a lighter car like the SR7 the later diffs may hold up to 350 whp unless you do a lot of drag racing starts.

Tx. Paul. I think there's going to be quadruplets at least down at 7-7-7...Scott L.'s Superlight is near identical and yours and R1s are definitely from the "gene pool".

I also like those side vent things...

That side port is seems like a great idea for extracting heat from the car.

Does the side panel really displace heat from the engine compartment or is it more cosmetic?

Is the driver's seat forward of the passenger's seat as suggested in one pic? Are they adjustable???

YES!

On my car at least, when on track my feet and legs seem to stay relatively cool. I can also feel the heat coming out of the side vent on my elbow at speed. Conversely, I rode in a couple of Birkins on track and the footwells on both got pretty warm and the air on the outside was nice and cool. FWIW.

Just as R1 Seven wrote, it does extract heat, and does add a little detail to the original flat panel. The drivers seat is pushed foward more than the passenger seat. A 6'2" person can fit in the drivers seat with the seat all the way back. Since Paul and I are only 5'11", we have to push it foward. Yes, the seats are adjustable. We tend to leave the passenger seat all the way back, since we have the battery and computer located in front of the passengers feet. Plus with the Battery/Computer cover, it gives you a platform to push against while your one hand is grabbing the rollbar, and the other one clawing the seat, trying to hold yourself against all that power.

looks awesome Paul and Dino. hopefully u get teh upgraded diff up and running in time! i definitely want to see what u've been able to incorporate into ur design.

Very nice car I have been anxious to see pics of it. With 350hp and gobs of tourqe that the SR motor makes must make for an amazing ride. I hope you can find a diff that holds together for you. I love the side vents that is a good idea especially with turbo. Are you using an intercooler? That thing will be a monster on a road coarse good luck and hope to see the car with my own eyes sometime. Are you coming to Run and Gun this year? I will be there this year, and your car should be one of the fastest in the field. Good luck with the new car.

Thanks for the positve comments everybody. We will be at the Run & Gun this year, along with Dan from Deman-Motorsport and Seth from B.A.M. We are working on the diff, but we will be ready for the event. see you all there soon.

Dino,

What brand and size of wheels are on your car? They look great! Are they a true 2-piece, or only cosmetic?

thanks.

Tom-He mentions that they are 3 piece panasports in the top post....apparently Seth of BAM can get a relatively good deal on them.

Jeff did those Birkins have full windshields? based on what I found this last weekend, if you take off the windshield, the footwell stays completely cool - and in my car, it used to get so hot, that if you wore sandals, you could not keep your foot on the gas pedal. I'm not exaggerating.
