Hey Glenn, Does that mean you are going to bring it back with you or are you going to have Dennis and Justin ship it? Either way it is a great Christmas present!! Jack

Hey Kitcat, The Stalker belongs to me. Did you watch the video? Some of the film was from my rollbar mounted camera. Several Eise, Esprite, Exige and Se7en owners in our CHILL group that have been working on the Indy LOG. Very active group You are close enough to Indy that WE WILL expect you to attend LOG 28. Should be a lot of fun. I am in charge of the Concourse on the Circle on Saturday and the Scenic Drive and Rally on Sunday. You won't want to miss the garage tour at Walker Racing on Friday. Monday will be our Track Day at Putnam Park. As of two weeks ago, 170 rooms at the Hilton have been reserved by those who plan to attend. They are going fast. Jack

I have had the pleasure to meet with Glenn prior to his purchase of his SuperStalker. Very enthusiastic about Se7ens but be careful about making Cobra jokes...He has built one of those as well. Glenn is a car nut just like the rest of us and will make a great addition to the USA7s group. Welcome Glenn!! Enjoy your trip to Florida to meet the Stalker clan. We will be checking on your build progress. Jack

Rob. Here are a couple of photos of how I addressed the storage issue in a Se7en. These are bags made by a company in St. Louis and purchased in a sporting goods store in the camping supplies department. Used cable ties to fasten them to the frame tubes. The bags have zippers to keep everything contained inside. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/41473391_StorageDriverSide.jpghttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/990272523_StoragePassengerSide.jpg I used two of these bags on the passenger side. The bag in the front is larger. Jack

Victor, Adding a plug for remote mounted GPS and Cell phone is certainly no problem. I use a GPS unit when we travel in the Stalker. It works great as you can kind of see in this photo taken at the 7-7-7 event this Summer. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/762024616_GPSmount.jpg The only thing that I feel you might do with the Stalker that you are looking at is to eventually change out the 4.11 rear differential to a 3.43 set of gears. I think it will be much more favorable for cruising. That is the set up that I have as do most of the other Stalker owners. You can easily take off in second gear even with the higher final drive ratio plus have plenty of comfortable power and torque in 5th gear. Other Se7en owners have driven my car and the first thing that comes out of their mouth is "Geeze, this car has gobs of torque and is crazy fast...I only have a 2.8L, 60° S-10 pickup truck motor in mine. It has been warmed up slightly. A stock 3.4L from the Camero or Firebird is plenty fast and extremely reliable as others have indicated in previous post. Jack

I run slicks when doing autocross only and street tires for track days and generally driving. I don't use the nerf bars for track days. The nerf bar is for rear wing protection against the many cones I hit and a permanent location to put my car number and class. Jack

Al, I was so impressed with Norm's trailer that I took a photo of it. Wish I had taken one with the ends folded up. Neat as can be!! http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1698819032_NormBtrailer1.jpghttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/936291565_NormBtrailer2.jpg

Here is another view of the Sugar Grove Racing nerf bar arrangement. Ultimately, the guys from SGR thought this could be further modified to provide some additional storage space on the outside of the car. Sort of like saddle bags. By the way, thanks to Jerry Eddens for taking the photos of the red car. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1170753014_SGnerf2.jpghttp://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/879085046_SGnerfTop1.jpg

The guys from Sugar Grove Racing have come up with kind of a nerf bar set up. It is pretty slick but more of a cone kicker/number plate deal. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1897826318_SugarGrove1.jpg I have something similar that I take on and off for autocross. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1632108126_Lefthander.jpg

Hey Jerry, That was just a heads up for the guys who do not have fine chicks like you and I do. Maybe a little advice to help someone else not a fortunate as us to old gezzers to make an informed decision. Please tell Sue I said hello. Jack

Getting in and out of a Se7en is not an elegant exercise with the top up even by yourself. Accommodating a second person becomes an even a bigger challenge. I once read that when a gentleman goes through the exercise of getting into the driver’s side when your lady passenger is already safely sitting in the passenger’s seat, the only proper thing to do is propose marriage to her. You literally have to stick your head out the opposite side of the cockpit to get properly seated which means you are practically laying the poor lass. Maybe adding a top is not such a bad idea. After all a Se7en seems to be a chick magnet. Jack

Al, That is our Stalker on Christmas Day 2003 just before I had it painted in March of 2004. We have not missed a month of driving the car since the car has been street legal in August 2003. We have driven snowmobiles all over Michigan, Wisconsin in much colder weather than we experience here in Indiana. If it is in the upper 20's, dry and reasonably sunny, we think nothing of taking a drive. Full face helmets and proper clothing is all we need. No, we don't have a heater either. Penny will often wrap up in an Indian blanket that she bought the first time we headed over the Cherohala Skyway in 2004 after a lady at the gas station in Telico Plaines said that it would be 15 to 20 degrees cooler at the top of the mountain. The blanket now stays in the car. Jack

Yes, you can put rear disk brakes on a Stalker. Several owners have them on their cars. Jack

I have business cards with a color photo of the car, my name, contact info and the Stalker web site that I genrally hand out. Most everybody takes the card and often ask for another to give to a friend. Jack

The white Stalker is owned by Tony Calvert of Plano, TX. Tony and his wife Dawn were at 7-7-7 this summer. The Blue Stalker with silver band around the grill opening is owned by Phil Sullivan of Lake Jackson, TX. He just finished his build and got it tagged a few weeks ago. The Datsun powered Se7en was also at 7-7-7. He is from TX and a friend of Tony's. Sorry but I can not remember his name even though we were introduced. Jack

Jeff wrote: Hello, my name is Jeff. I'm from southwest florida and have always lusted after the 7. I don't own one as of yet but hope to in the future. I'll probably be asking alot of questions about the best place to buy and who makes the most safe and reliable kit. Hello Jeff, There are lots of good kits available. You might want to check out the boys at Brunton Auto, builders of the Stalker V6. They are up in Bradenton, FL. not far from you. Dennis or Justin will gladly take you for a ride in one of there cars. Check out Stalkerv6.com. Jack -
Mazda, Have you played with your front to rear brake bias adjustment? Maybe you need to dial in a little more rear bias. Just a thought. Jack

Caterham is obviously a great car and the benchmark in many purist minds. I personaly own a Stalker V6 and very happy with my choice. I have Chassis #10 which is about 4 years old and have had zero problems with it after over 17,000 miles on it which includes normal street driving, monthy autocross and just did the Run and Gun event at Gateway Intl Speedway in St. Louis. If you have not been to the Stalker web site you should take a look. We have a very active group of Stalker owners that get together often. You can build the car for use with the GM 2.8L, 3.4L or 3.8L NA or Supercharged V6 power plant. Spare parts are easily found at any autoparts store. www.stalkerv6.com Dennis Brunton and Justin Sims own the Florida based company. Jack
