You might check out http://www.victoriabritish.com I think you may have to search by Austin Healy mirrors. They are located in Kansas. Jack

Mazda, Nice job on the forum update. lots of features and easy to use. This format is being used by most of the forums that I frequent. Jack

Hey Jimmy, That's good..!!! The SuperStalker gets fantastic gas mileage...Much better than the 2.8L or 3.4L normally aspirated. I can get about 23 on a similar trip and drive somewhat spirited. Jack

ATTENTION-MAJOR UPDATE FOR 2009 EVENT!!!
jbanker replied to sparecr's topic in General Sevens Discussion
John, Good work!!! This will give those who were concerned about attending a LOG with LSIS and Clones an excellent opportunity to experience the flavor and friendliness of the Lotus Owner's Gatherings. As an attendee of LOG 25 and an event coordinator member for LOG 29 with my Stalker, I can attest that the participants with all varieties of Se7en type cars will have fun and well accepted. Even though LOG 28 in Indy had a good turn out for Sevens, I had hoped for more. This will be a good event with lots of opportunities to make some new friends and get re-acquainted with old friends. Hope to see everyone then. Jack Jack -
I agree with the nice collection...! I also owned a 1970 MGB GT. We loved it. Currently my other car is a '99 Miata. Are you happy with your Hanmegson lift? Is that the Pro-6MR? My four car garage is pretty full but I have always thought the the portable scissor lift would be a nice addition. Jack from Indianapolis

I go back and forth between a 12" and 13" Grant GT wheel....Currently using the 13". You would not think that 1" diameter would make much difference regarding input effort, but it does. Normal driving 13". Autocross 12". That is the nice thing about quick release wheels. Jack

Bob, I am heater approx 720 square feet of garage space with 9 ft ceilings that opens into another 575 square feet of garage space through a 4 ft wide door that is 8 ft tall. There is no door to close between the two garages, however, I have an 8 mil plastic sheet that I can drop between the two if I don't want to heat the 575 ft side. I can heat the 720 square foot workshop/garage area with a 5000W electric heater at a very comfortable 62 degrees in about 20 minutes. The 5000W is equivalent to about 17000 BTU. If the Modine heater is vented to the outside then you will have inefficiencies of about 20-30%. He is correct, it will do an excellent job but I have found that working in the garage with temps much over 65 degrees is almost too much. My garage is well insulated with 10" batting in the attic. Do you know if the heater is vented from the outside. If not you may want to back off to about 30000 BTU which is still plenty for that size unless the garage is not well insulated. Hope this helps. The Se7en Got a New Trailer for Christmas
jbanker replied to scannon's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Hey Skip, You can't go wrong with a Haulmark Low Hauler. I really considered one, then ended up buying a Cargo Express, 7x14 with V nose. The V nose was great but the extra height brought my gas mileage down to about 12MPG in my Dodge Dakota 4.7L Quad Cab. Ended up selling the Cargo Express this Summer and had Brunton Auto build me an open single axle tilt bed made specifically for Se7ens. Justin Sims delivered it during LOG 28. Really happy with the open trailer and decent gas mileage but did have a towing cover made for the Stalker. Had I purchased the Low Hauler first, I would most likely still have it. I think your V nose is the first that I have seen in a Low Hauler package...Great combination!!! Jack -
Cantrade, You must have had a turn at the wheel of David's red SS. He is a good friend from New Mexico and represents the Stalker brand very well. You are right on the money about economic times and the impact that it has on discretionary spending. However, I did just purchase a '99 MX-5. It was a deal that I could not pass up. Jack

Interestingly enough...this car won the Florida State E/M title, second place at the same event was a 3.8L Superstalker losing by about 0.4 seconds. All other contenters in the class were well off the pace. I think Tom brought a bit more experience to the event than Justin in the SS. I have seen this car up close and personal and it is well prepared and a first class build. The builder, Chuck M had it at our first 2006 Stalker Ambush in Cleveland, TN. I have always contended that the 3.4L, N/A, 60° G.M. motor was and is an excellent fit. Plenty of useable HP and gobs of torque. You can literally run the entire auto-x course in 3rd gear from the start to the finish. Personally, I feel the value of the car is closer to $20K. Jack

Hey Delayne, Congratulations!!! You did good..!! Hopefully we will see you and Run & Gun again with the Birkin. :yesnod: Jack

Must be the season to pick up winter time daily drivers. I just purchased a 1999 Miata with only 33400 miles. It even has a top, heater and AC. http://www.usa7s.net/ASPNETFORUM/upload/1139460791_IMG_0468LR.jpghttp://www.usa7s.net/ASPNETFORUM/upload/1163955714_IMG_0467LR.jpg

I am running my 3rd season on these slicks, but that's not 5 seconds. Tom My tires look like that after one season!!! There is no way that I could get three seasons out of a set of R25As. By the way, GREAT PHOTO!! Jack

Hey Jerry, Thanks for the great update. I really miss not being there. It is a fun event for sure and your Se7ens Party that you and Sue put on is the BEST!!! How is the overall car count in comparison to years past? Jack

Tom, Welcome to the USA7s group. Your SI is beautiful. I love the color combination, don't change it by removing the paint. Bare ally is just too difficult to maintain. I will eventually have my ally painted. I have always admired the fit and finish on the SI and the step up in comfort. However, I do love the raw environment of a basic Se7en....It keeps me young (and sometimes beat up !!). Hey Gary, Congrats on a fine finish at the Harvest Moon event. The SuperStalker has gobs of power and looks like you have got a handle on how to use it. It sure did not take you long to get it well sorted and figured out.. Jeff, Good looking Ultralight....With you two guys at the top of the winners list lends some creditability to the Se7ens movement. Jack, Stalker #10 in Indianapolis

I have a set of these that use Multivex lenses (better than convex) plus I use a Spa style dash mounted convex mirror with the stalk modified for lower profile. Her is the link that you will find on this site: http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/Default.aspx?g=posts&t=2106

I have let many experience autocrossers co-drive my car at solo events. Several with Se7ens themselves. Two things come to mind...First you learn a lot about how your car handles and looks compared to others. Second, you find out that others can be faster than you in your own car...that sucks..!!! One experienced Caterham owner set fast time of day for fendered cars with my car and I was about 1/2 second slower. This was last year....At least know I know the car is capable...However, this driver/owner needs some work!! Jack

28th Annual Lotus Owners Gathering (LOG 28) In Indy
jbanker replied to Feffman's topic in National Events
LOG 28 in Indianapolis seems to have been pretty successful. Sorry that I have been so slow in getting some photos up of all the Se7ens and a Lotus 6 that made it to the event. I think I have a pic of all the Sevens except I am not sure that I got one of Dean and Claudia's beautiful series 1. I have to thank CHILL members Brian and Jeanna James for most of these great photos. I also have to thank Mark Scott, fellow Stalker owner and owner of Prototype Development, for coming to my aid at The Putnam Park Track day. I blew an oil line just as I got out on my first session and oiled down turns 1 and 2. Mark called his shop and had Billy bring out a new oil line complete with -8 fittings. Got it installed and was able to make the second session for some laps with my wife riding with me. Sure can't beat Mobile 1 either. I did get it shut down quickly thanks to a very bright and big low oil pressure light that comes on at 20 PSI. I was at zero in an instant. Here are photos from the Track Day, IMS and the Public Concours on Monument Circle. I have hi res versions of these if anyone wants them...just email me JBANKER AT INDY DOT RR DOT COM. I am not 100% positive that I got the names correct or at all on some of these. Please correct me or let me know who owns which car. All Se7ens owners should try to make it to a LOG at least once. This was our second LOG and we had a great time. We have a Stalker owner in Houston that also has an Atom. He purchased a very nice used 3.4L N/A Stalker and found that it was much faster and handled better than his coveted Atom. He still has the Atom but promptly called Dennis Brunton and just took delivery on a turnkey SuperStalker built by Dennis and his crew. He will have it at the Ambush next week along with his Atom. Jack

Take a drive over to Rent-a-racecar.net at VIR and rent a Superstalker for the day, or drive down to Brunton Automotive in Bradenton, FL and take a ride in one of Dennis Brunton's cars, or come to Indianapolis and take a ride/drive in my car or Mark Scott's SuperStalker. Mark can build you a turnkey car to your specs. His build quality is outstanding and the car is very fast. Jack Classic Stalker chassis #10

28th Annual Lotus Owners Gathering (LOG 28) In Indy
jbanker replied to Feffman's topic in National Events
Just counted the registration list and came up with at least 24 Se7ens at LOG 28 this year. Phil and Patty Anderson with their '99 yellow Cat Bill and Cheryl Baldwin with their '61 green S2 The Bankers with the yellow/ally '03 Stalker Norm Beaver and Sally with their '79 green Cat Kate Blizzard with her '61 Super 7 Steve and Wanda Brinkerhoff with their '06 Ultralite XR7 Keith and Janet Brown with their '66 yellow/green Super 7 Gary David with his '62 Seven Frank and Pat Fenoglio with their '06 titanium silver Cat Mike and Barb Gatton (Breezy7) with their green/ally '06 Cat Steve & Jeanne Fichter with their '79 Cat Dean and Claudia Giacopassi with their all ally '58 S1 John Gault with his '61 pepper white 7 Alfred Kitch with his '62 black/ally '62 Seven Mark McGowan and family with their '61 silver/green 7 Tony and Melissa with their '99 purple Birkin Steve Montgomery with his '98 Cat Mike and Jennifer Rohaley with their '01 Cat Mark Scott and family with their '08 orange SuperStalker Paul and Jan Snyder with their '06 Red Ultalite S2K Craig and Cynthia Straub with their '66 Silver/white Cat Jack and Deanna Trip with their '63 Seven Rich and Lisa Englehart with his '04 black Cat John Vivianni with his green S2 All in all this was a great event with nearly 200 cars in attendance at LOG 28. As you can see, there were a good number of non-Lotus an Non-Caterhams that were in attendance. Everyone had a great time and LOG 29 should be lots of fun next year. Our own John V will have a big hand in that event. Jack -

I think we are going to have a reasonable showing of Se7ens according to the registration updates that I have been getting. Do try to make the Cookout at Mark Scotts, near the Airport. We will be doing tech for track day and auto-x there as well. Mark has several surprise guest stopping by his shop and should be lots of fun. Sorry that I have not been checking the forum site for the last few days....Been pretty busy around here in Indy. Looking forward to meet all the Se7en folks. Jack -
:) Better watch out or we will be calling you Don Quixote... Jack
