  1. Not sure where you live in Wisconsin, but there is a SuperStalker with an LS3 installed located in the Chicago area. Jack
  2. Caterham quit putting the middle support on clams sometime between the early to mid '90s. They decided it was not necessary.
  3. Russ, My wife and I are planning to come to the Mid-West 7s deal in June. Looking forward to meeting new se7ens owners and seeing old friends as well. Jack & Penny Banker
  4. Martin, I am convinced you have the sharing part figured out as well. Jack
  5. My second reply and to answer Glenn's question. I have made many mods to my Stalker. This was the third or fourth Stalker to be completed and running. It is chassis #10. Each up-grade and mod generally has worked out well. Taking the chance on fitting up the Caterham clams was a gamble and I would say it has worked out beyond my expectations. Here is a shot taken by Larry Metz at this last weekends test and tune at the Indy Region test and tune. My son, Christian, has been co-driving with me since last June. That has even made auto-x even more fun for me. This is Christian taking a passenger on a spirited lap around the course. The down stroke...Your slicks will not last a whole season with two drivers...The up-stroke...Doing something you love with your kids involved and having double the fun. Jack
  6. looks nice Glenn. Pretty clean. Jack
  7. Feels like power steering after about 120...
  8. A few months ago I purchased a set of Cat Clams from Geewiz1. With minimal mods I was able to replace my standard cycle front wings with the clams. Really like the classic new look. Hey, these things keep most of the rocks out of the passenger compartment. Lots of nice comments at this weeks Cars & Coffee here in Indy. Jack

Gongrats Glenn, Looks great..!!! Hope to see it in person soon. Jack
  10. KIT CAR BUILDER does have a nice article on Jack Nostrands SuperStalker in the April issue a well. I have not seen it yet myself, but hear that it is very well done. Hopefully I will be able to pick up the HS&EC and KCB on Tuesday. I'll pass my judgement once I read them. Jack
  11. Hank, You should be able to find the magazine at Barnes & Noble sometime this week. I am not familiar with Books a Million. Jack
  12. Thanks Scott, Were you and Mary able to hook up with Dennis B and David S for some auto-x runs or did Mary put the fear of defeat in them. Should be a fun day if you can get everybody together. Would be a sight to see...!! Jack
  13. Bruce- You are correct, the paint job on the nose was inspired by long time Indy Car Roadster builder, A.J. Watson. He often used scallops in his paint themes. I miss those old roadster days. By the way, Mr. Watson still lives in Speedway, IN and is doing very well. He is still my hero and I love seeing many of his old cars now being restored. Delayne- Yes I remember spending a good bit of time with you talking about Se7ens and you driving the car. I know you are enjoying the Birkin. Hopefully our paths will cross again soon. Jerry- What are we going to do about Run N Gun? Go to Nebraska? Maybe Delayne can meet us there. Jack "really getting tired of snow" Banker
  14. Thanks Bruce. The photos were taken at Topaco Lodge on the TOTD during 7-7-7. I had just about given up on the thought that anything was ever going to be published. David Travors Adolphus was fun to work with during the shoot. I still have not received my copy of the magazine. Found out by accident about two weeks ago about the cover shot...Couldn't hardly contain myself as a frequent visitor to this site. Was anxious to see who recognized the car....YOUR THE WINNER. Jack
  15. I believe the Caterham SV chassis is 4" wider and maybe 7" longer than the Standard Caterham or original Lotus 7. The Stalker V6, shown on the front cover of the April HS&EC, is 4" wider and 7" longer with most oF the additional space in the driver/passenger compartment. You might want to contact Dennis Brunton about your specific needs via the Stalker V6 web site, http://www.stalkerv6.com Let him know what region of the country you live and possibly arrange a visit with a Stalker owner. Jack
  16. Hey Glenn, You speaking from experience?? JB
  17. Here is what is on the front cover of the April HS&EC
  18. I did just the opposite, just swapped my front cycle fenders for Clamshells. The front clams and headlight mount would have to be swapped for a new cycle fender and headlight mount. They are not the same...Clams have a different set up vs cycle fenders. The mounting points on the frame are the same for the headlights. As mentioned previously, you would want to cover the holes that were left after the clams would be removed. It is not unusual for the owner of a Se7en to swap from one to the other. I personally like the classic look of the clams...both fender styles have their pluses and minuses. You are correct about personal preferrences. Jack
  19. I have never met John J but I know who he is. Very cleaver young man and a close friend of Dennis Brunton. John lives in Sarasoto, FL. This is chassis number 7 that John built that started out as a 3.4L Stalker. I was not aware that he made the conversion to electric....However, I am not surprised. He is extremely talented and a very good fabricator. Does his own work on a very limited budget. I have read about one other Se7en type Locost that was built as an EV. Can't remember where but it was about 2 years ago. I'm pretty impressed with these DIY home builders..!!! Jack
  20. Congratulations Ken, Did the car stay in AZ or go somewhere else? Let us know on the Stalker forum so we can put the new owner on the Owner's list. Anxious to hear what your new project is going to be. Cheers, Jack Banker
  21. I saw this Donkervoort at LOG 25 in St. Louis in 2005. The fellow who owned it then drove it down from Detroit. Looks the same as it did then except for the obvious elbow grease it took to polish the ally. Scroll to the bottom of this page of the link to my gallery. These are the three "before" photos. The Donkervoort was my favorite along with the original 7 from S.W. Missouri or KC area. http://www471.pair.com/stalkerv/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=1404 Jack
  22. Loren, Please accept my condolences for the loss of your aunt and grandmother. Praying for a speedy and full recovery for your mother. We just lost my mother-in-law unexpectedly in October and it does make the holidays difficult. It is great that you have such a loving and caring extended family from you church and workplace. Jack
  23. Hey Mike, Don't you just love your Brookies...!! I run with mine most of the time vs the full wind screen. Certainly a lot less buffeting with them. Jack
  24. Mike, Last I checked there was a 20% chance of rain on Friday. I will be watching the weather as well. My preference is to go on Friday because it will be road course events all day. Hope to see you there. Jack
  25. Any Se7eners going to the 2009 Run and Gun Kit car event this year? This event will be at Gateway Intl Raceway near St. Louis next week. Always lots of fun and generally well attended by Se7en type car owners including our own Jerry Eddens and Chuck Spera. Here is the link for this year's event. http://www.runngun.net/ My son and I will be going as spectators on either Thursday or Friday. Leaning towards Friday for the moment. Not planning on taking the Stalker this year since the Miata has a top, radio and heater. Jack
