I have a new set of Birkins that never made it onto my locost due the arch a bit larger than stock. Collecting dust. 12" wide.

Xcarguy. I didn't realize any of the alu wings were smooth on bottom and a real airfoil shape. Do you think there's enough surface area though or enough open/clean air to make the wing work--underside of the wing most important so acts more wing and less spoiler. I cannot wait to hear your feedback on the wing. I bet it could easily be modified to work on front. Suicide plywood roof--Yikes..

Yeah, that video is very tame... I will have a bonjo2 channel setup soon to document the car exploits.

I know Meyers hit high 170's, like 178 at VIR. A kite is a great way to describe the feeling over 140. I am considering the ugly Donker D8 270 style wings in front and rear, but am hesitant given the open cockpit and roll cage. Anyone have any photos of a decent lower cost (not the $1400 front and $2300 rear GT style carbon) option on a seven?

Would love to try a monster mile...

Anyone know what it would take? My initial guess is 500BPH and proper gearing, no fenders, lots of duct tape, no windshield/screens, covered pax compartment, and some Indy/F1 style front and rear wings. Right now my car is nutty quick, but scary over 100mph, like hydroplaning. It's like the car wants to lift off with the panel behind the seats, front wings/fenders, rear wings/fenders, and brooklands wanting to blow apart.. Let off the gas at speed and the throttle-off rear lift/oversteer is worse than an old 911.
-
I drive the car all the time. Rear wings already sandblasted. Very cool, very rapid.. I hope to replace the seats and maybe finish up the body and wiring sometime in Jan. It's just so much fun to drive. Not fun to work on.
-
Dude, Your "last weekend" photo rocks. My new favorite, big toy next to kid toy. I might have to order some new front wings if you can report on how stable they are at speed. Mine flop around like mad at 60. Your garage ad car too clean though.... Mine already looks sand blasted and worn and only 647 miles on the odo. A.

I think if you can find some 225 drag radials you'd be shocked at how much a properly spec'd tire can do. If 1000+ lbs heavier the larger tire might prove quicker. I just cannot imagine this little car being able to generate enough heat to make work on the street, esp Sep through May. I am running the 225 BFG drag radial dot approved. They are plenty stiff, provide great feedbacks, heat evenly and quickly at 15-20 psi. The only drawback, aside from the odd truck bolt pattern American Racing boat anchor wheels, are the limited sizes offered. I had to re-learn the whole tire economics game.

The car is wicked brutally quick. No drama, it's just a rocked. If I start in 2nd I can get to 60 without a shift in about 3 seconds. If I push, and stick, maybe much quicker. I really need to get some track time so I'm not always getting surprised on public roads and grinning like a retard. It's funny how the tires broke loose and marked the road accelerating from 55 to 80, and how 80-110 happens about as quick as a breath. Now, replacing the pinion seal and axle yoke. For some reason the yoke flange/dust cover has a split in it and tore up the pinion seal, pouring all 3 quarts of 90 weight onto the lot.. Aside from my drippy rear end, the only downside so far has been wind buffeting over 80, seatbelt slapping face at 90, and anything not buttoned down flying high into the air over 100.

I'll probably keep. They are about 14.5" standard size. You can get them on Ebay for 100-150 brit pounds, then add about 75 pounds to ship from the UK. They now have a cut down style for 2012 in all colors. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Black-GRP-Seats-for-kit-car-locost-westfield-robin-hood-/110964297214?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item19d5fccdfe

I've a pair of new Birkin rear wings, 12" in primer with a thin coat of bed liner on the underside. Unmollested-no holes other than the mount holes they came with. Drivers side has a light rise in leading edge for what I assume is clearance for exhaust. Looking for a local VA-D.C. sale. I drive to D.C. every two weeks and can deliver. I opted to go with the Stalker rear fenders to avoid a gaps and having to custom fab mounts.

My fiberglass racing buckets are too narrow for my big butt. Looking for a pair of the standard Caterham, Westfield, Birkin seats.

Yes. Mike gave me a very spirited ride. Car is fantastic. I was most impressed by the no drama acceleration. Car was mad. I post some photos on the Brunton web gallery #156. My car runs, now it's just a matter of finding time to get bodywork together. Email me anytime. bonjo2 at gmail dot com

Shark's car is nuts. He gave me a spirited ride a couple weeks back and I was shocked at how it just hooked up and hauled the mail. I was expecting lots of wheel spin and oversteer. Amazing car, well built too. I sorta wish I could just buy it and drive vs. spending any more time in the garage finishing mine. I do not believe you could build anything as fast and that works as well any cheaper.
