I put mine on the right side dash so my passenger can switch it. Normally they are mounted on the pax side scuttle, rear panel (drag style), or on a plate riveted or clamped to the roll cage just aft the main hoop (70's style). I believe SCCA needs switch to be marked with standard marker and accessible by corner worker. If you drive often it's probably best to keep it "on" and use a tender if you're going to be parked a week or more. The GM computer, like most, resets when disconnected for 30 minutes or if you press the brakes after disconnect to clear any charge in system. After an hard "off" car takes a little bit to warm up relearn stuff, get throttle off idle right, and throttle sensitivity, and throttle-off backfires, whereas if I leave on and drive regularly, it's just awesome, like I left it, with no learn period.

Anyone need to run one? If so, how fitted and photo? I want to run time attack at a local circle track and they won't let me on the track without a roof, window nets, and arm restraints. Roof is negotiable due my roll cage, but side protection is not.

Wow. That's a great mod. I think I might get one of those air filter shrouds for my oil pan. I really need more rubber which can heat up and be used, and get rid of the lift over 100mph. Nobody makes a 12-wide 15" dia tire in a 100-140 tread wear... Our cars are looking more and more like Mad Max. I've got like 90 days or something to title my car in VA. So, my Brooklands might have to go. And, might need to extend fenders somehow to be below the mid-mark of wheels. We'll see. Each shop and inspector a little different.

I recall reading of several muscle cars gone autocross warriors in grassroots some time ago. One guy used heat on the top of the tubes and let the contraction at cooling bend them inward, another cut and welded different flanges from speedway motors, both 1-1.5 deg. I cannot imagine doing much more than adding wear and tear. Unless you are running crazy stiff suspension and running on really smooth surfaces. Maybe Scott can put together an IRS upgrade for current stalker owners. The solid rear axle really wakes you up when you find that bump mid curve. The simple 4-link design really doesn't lend itself well to much suspension movement/articulation--like a drag racing setup. I think much longer 3 link or watts would be better with softer rear springs, and a small adjustable front swaybar. But then, probably no room for gas tank or elbows.

Mike. Damn I've been off the boards too long. I like your progress and totally love the new wheel and tire combo. I need to save your post; much great info. I just finished up with the Air Force and am now in-between work and houses, stuck with no job or garage... Yikes. I'll sort that out.. But, this winter I want to tear down the beast and fix all the little crap. With this much torque and power in these cars puts us in new territory and new thinking needed if we think we can run laps of enclosed cars. Maybe buttoning up the gaps, a chin spoiler and diffuser all that's needed? I don't know. I stopped running the rear diffuser because the difference wasn't significant. It needs to be much closer to the ground and able to channel all/more air through. I still need to get a track day or two in this little beast. The street guys now have my number...

I made a cover last year, but have now clue where it went when I last had the pan off. I used some 18G alu flashing and tin snips, bent the edge over in a vice. I sanded the edges and put a light coat of bed liner on. I've done a couple k miles no issues without it. I think today's clutched in such small cars there'd be no issues. I blew a couple of clutches in other cars and never had anything come through the alu housings. It's not like today's exotics or even muscle cars are blowing bits out with 400-900Bph. If I lose a foot to a clutch, I'll retract this post. I am mostly sideways and smoking in my stalker with about 440 rear wheel BPH and a little under 1600lbs.

Anyone have decent pics of howt he wetsfield or cat snow plows mount up? My stalker is nuts when tires hot, but too scary over 130... Throttle off is an art and rec got back to left ft braking. I am thinking a new diffuser huge GT3 wing, 1/2 doors, time attack frontal and much more rubber needed. Def willing to gain 200lbs and still 1k less than nearest vet.

Does anyone know of a skirt--like the 50's road racers--or an aeroscreen to fill gap below the brooklands? I suck at fiberglass to make my own. But might have to. I tried a mock-up windshield using p clamps and flexiglass on roll cage, but given the turbulence, even at 40 MPH I knew I need to keep the Brooklands. Not sure if anyone has done much to keep the legal brooklands, but keep buffeting down. I cannot go to a simple aeroscreen without trouble from the law. Brooklands work from 40-80 really good. Above that, it's still like a tornado inside. I had a softball fly into pax seat at 40, which would have destroyed a passenger, and got me thinking full screen in order. But, with the windshield it sucks worse.. Softball might not be an issue, but damn, everything not tied down wants to fly. I'd like to keep my tunnel carpet and Dunkin Donuts Iced coffee on tunnel on not in face. Maybe I am a dreamer.. Maybe windshield would work if I installed a screen behind the roll bar.. I want to do more than 5K miles this next year. Any input appreciated.

usa7's meet in Carlisle PA next year?
Bonjo2 replied to RGTorque's topic in General Sevens Discussion
I'll be there. I have two extra rooms, first come first served... I can host most Carlisle shows... I'm in New Cumberland, about 20 minutes away. I missed the import/kit show this year due rain, but hit the Corvette, Mopar, and Chevy show (lame... not like 15 years ago). We can do better. I should have my Stalker back up soon--4 weeks--once I sort out the oil pump issue. Anyone near New Cumberland want to go for a fun run? Or want to drive.. I'd love to drive a GTR or ZR1 or exotic.. My v8 stalker is nuts, but oil pump faulty--thanks GM, and had some issue with pin holes in header and some with fuel pressure, electric grounds, and fuel pump.. But. Very, very quick. 419 wheel BPH on current tune; with issues and car chemistry inserts.. I expect 430+ on next tune given the car chemisty inserts too restrictive and fuel pressure and MAF readings a bit inconsistent. I fixed fuel pressure with added filter, bigger rails, and better ground wire. Header in works, and new HP oil pump, better header in works Joy. -
Locost racing seats, radiator UK many LS bits too
Bonjo2 replied to Bonjo2's topic in Parts For Sale / Wanted
I can ship the radiator and other small stuff. But seats and arches and side-pipes too pricey to be worth the effort. Best. -

Bonjo2 replied to Bonjo2's topic in Parts For Sale / Wanted
Ted's got the seats. I just realized I still have a pair of 10" stalker rear arches, and 12" Birkins. Trying to free up funny money for a new LS oil pump, LS3 exhaust, and windshield. If I sort out the windshield, brooklands will go too. I love them, but ever since the softball incident, need more safety for my pax and regular driving.. -

The seat sales fell through. Local pick-up or near local delivery only. I am in New Cumberland/Harrisburg PA area. I visit Hampton VA a couple times each month, so can arrange a drop off en-route. -

usa7's meet in Carlisle PA next year?
Bonjo2 replied to RGTorque's topic in General Sevens Discussion
YES. I can offer a place to stay, but limited parking, in New Cumberland, about 20 minutes away. Even a group of 7s at the import/kit show would be cool. It would especially cool if we could offer rides on the little autox track. I am in. Anyone hitting Carlisle this weekend or Hershey next? -
Looking great. Power brakes might be the ticket... Though, even with power brakes, I think a lighter brake light sensor or mechanical switch needed. If only there were an inertia switch as when you lift off in gear, it slows big time and women in SUVs not used to reacting to anything other than a third brake light instructing them to slow. Don't ask.. I took a couple of farm road runs with some local speed freaks and they asked if my brake lights worked, they did. Joys of driving a 1600lb car!

You Wear A Helmet For Causal Driving?
Bonjo2 replied to nicholastanguma's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Save Phace or Fish Hedz face protection the way to go. Bass proshops has them pretty cheap. You can look like darth vader or stormtrooper or Misfits skull face. I normally only wear sunglasses, but if planning more than an hour on the interstate I'll wear my full face motorcyle helmet. -
Your Bph/Ton is nuts. Is your car really that light? I assume LS376/480.
