  1. The tree house IS amazing BTW! Lucky grandkids. I like that you and your son have your own trees:). Maybe post a photo of the zip line setup?
  2. Per the Google, 6 died in 2011: nothing like a "tank-slapper" at 150 mph.
  3. Kitcat

    Gulf Colours

What species of se7en is it?
  4. Older than dirt: Sixty six this weekend, looking forward to still being on the track at 77. Like Alaskossie, I wasted my youth without a se7en. Now have 2 and have owned 3 total in last 5 years (making up for lost time).
  5. Dazzling!
  6. Ahh, good question, my eye-ball meter had them at 225's. Trade off of larger tire is in such a light car is tire doesn't warm up as fast (or at all) which hurts grip.
  7. Maybe a trike?
  8. Wow, you are hard core! Having owned a A-H Sprite as a daily driver (and used in the snow every winter), I think that the se7en is even less user friendly than your MG (tho not your bike). With the top up it is very hard to get into (remember, no doors, just side screens. So it is a bit like climbing thru an open car window). And you have a lockable trunk. In my se7en, if I stop somewhere, my computer, briefcase, etc., all has to come into the store/bar, etc with me, it cant be left in the vehicle. With everything buttoned up, my Caterham was reasonably dry in the rain. But because it was soo low, it tended to really get drowned in puddles, trailer backwash, splash etc. I suspect a well maintained se7en is at least as reliable, probably more reliable, than your MG. Another consideration, you can drive an MG anonymously. In a se7en, EVERYONE's your friend: what is it, how fast does it go, is it a V8, did you build it?? If you stop at a gas station, traffic light, grocery store you are surrounded by people who are fascinated and want to talk. In small does it's fun, as a way of life it is a huge PITA. Based on your supermoto experience, I suspect you cld make a se7en work. If you do, you mite be the only person on this site who has tried it. Or am I wrong? Anyone else doing a se7en as a DD? Closest I got was summers in my '97 Caterham, with no passengers, on dry days.
  9. Agree abt the tires, I think my 165 hp Zetec Cat has more rear rubber. Car looks terrific.
  10. Not sure a se7en is for you. It is a lousy daily driver, hard to get in/out of, extra hot in the summer, extra cold in the winter, always breaking down, no lockable trunk. The snow is not an issue, its the chemicals used to remove the snow that cause problems with the aluminum body/steel frame. On the right road, on the right day (dry, not too hot/cold), it can not be duplicated, but it is pretty one dimensional otherwise.
  11. 875 miles a day over 4 days, in that! It makes driving a se7e seem wimpy! We have a real windshield, a heater, a roof, side screens etc. Maybe the fact that his name is Morgan helped (I am sure spending each evening with such a lovely traveling companion didn't hurt either-unless of course it was his daughter:)). Whole thing makes me run out, fire up the mighty Bikin, and set off cross country myself.
  12. Amen! I have met with him a few times in his shop and he's been exceedingly helpful.
  13. Dead battery: that's my story:). I ran 1st and 2nd parts of 3 part chicane too hot, so ended up going way too fast to manage the 3rd part-it was truly ugly as I slid wide thru it and got backwards. It was just further proof of the maxim: slow in fast out.
  14. In my Cat, the curbing at NJMP is your friend. If you use it, you go fast. If not, you don't. Croc and I run very similar lines. Never had my car get unsettled on it there, unlike at some tracks. I suspect the se7en is more forgiving than the somewhat tail-happy Exige. I also managed to overdrive the chicane and spin off, but I went wide right, and backwards a long way. The track gods smiled and nothing was damaged, except my starter stopped working. I agree, Croc's car sounds feking awesome! I cant wait to hear what his new car sounds like there:)!!!
  15. Yes, a good time was had by all, especially me since my car didn't break down for once(tho my trailer did on the way home). We also had some se7en owners spectating, including SteveS1 and Jack who has a Caterham that's undergoing some repairs. They also helped us put a dent in the track's supply of booze.
  16. Thx Bruce, will do. There are a lot of very nice touches on my car. Repeated fuel pump failure has kept me somewhat sidelined (on pump# 3) but hopefully the glitches are gone, gas tank is clean and I can start to pile up the laps. I have a weekend track day on the near horizon and we'll see how it does. I swapped the tiny removable steering wheel for a much larger one. I was exhausted after 15 lap sessions from the steering effort. Prior drivers must have been specimens, I cant imagine how they did 1-3 hour long sessions, I wldnt be able to lift my arms. Mike
  17. Yeh, Martin, that fog looks really brutal, chin up man:).
  18. Just heard that northern NJ had a small earth quake. You guys seem to have offended the gods in some way! At least the snow makes it likely that the locust plague will not happen til next spring:). Tom-hope the latest storm surge is not a big one. It has to be hard to feel so powerless.
  19. I spoke my brother today who lives in Morristown, NJ. He's finally given up and is headed out of state to stay with family who have electricity. No gas = no portable generator, no heat, no water, no toilets. Huge line at gas station to get enough to leave. Took hours. All stores are out of gas cans, people are stealing them from each other. Tom: I have seen houses in Fl lose their beaches as yours has. There the government does "beach re-nourishment" and pumps tons of sand back in place so they're good to go, at least til the next hurricane:).
  20. Tom and Croc: So sorry to hear all of this, you must be sick. Your places seem to have been in just the wrong place. Looking forward to updates in hope that damage is not as bad as feared. Steve, Box and others without power, hang in there but it has to be a royal PITA.
  21. Got mine today-looks even better in person!
  22. What new toy?
  23. Excellent! How did the R300 compare to yr high toot se7en?
  24. Anytime the Weather Channels forecast uses the words humongous and colossal, I take notice. Even tho high and dry here in Ohio, we are expected to get some significant weather. How are you East Coasters fairing? My son lives 70 miles east of Baltimore. He says all schools are closed, grocery stores have run out of basics. Croc-where is your se7en, hopefully not in your submersible garage!?
  25. Impressive! This is a Busa engine? If so, I had no idea they could make that kind of power, boosted or not. Maybe add this result to the dyno sheet smackdown thread?
