  1. Yes, a good time was had by all, especially me since my car didn't break down for once(tho my trailer did on the way home). We also had some se7en owners spectating, including SteveS1 and Jack who has a Caterham that's undergoing some repairs. They also helped us put a dent in the track's supply of booze.
  2. Thx Bruce, will do. There are a lot of very nice touches on my car. Repeated fuel pump failure has kept me somewhat sidelined (on pump# 3) but hopefully the glitches are gone, gas tank is clean and I can start to pile up the laps. I have a weekend track day on the near horizon and we'll see how it does. I swapped the tiny removable steering wheel for a much larger one. I was exhausted after 15 lap sessions from the steering effort. Prior drivers must have been specimens, I cant imagine how they did 1-3 hour long sessions, I wldnt be able to lift my arms. Mike
  3. Yeh, Martin, that fog looks really brutal, chin up man:).
  4. Just heard that northern NJ had a small earth quake. You guys seem to have offended the gods in some way! At least the snow makes it likely that the locust plague will not happen til next spring:). Tom-hope the latest storm surge is not a big one. It has to be hard to feel so powerless.
  5. I spoke my brother today who lives in Morristown, NJ. He's finally given up and is headed out of state to stay with family who have electricity. No gas = no portable generator, no heat, no water, no toilets. Huge line at gas station to get enough to leave. Took hours. All stores are out of gas cans, people are stealing them from each other. Tom: I have seen houses in Fl lose their beaches as yours has. There the government does "beach re-nourishment" and pumps tons of sand back in place so they're good to go, at least til the next hurricane:).
  6. Tom and Croc: So sorry to hear all of this, you must be sick. Your places seem to have been in just the wrong place. Looking forward to updates in hope that damage is not as bad as feared. Steve, Box and others without power, hang in there but it has to be a royal PITA.
  7. Got mine today-looks even better in person!
  8. What new toy?
  9. Excellent! How did the R300 compare to yr high toot se7en?
  10. Anytime the Weather Channels forecast uses the words humongous and colossal, I take notice. Even tho high and dry here in Ohio, we are expected to get some significant weather. How are you East Coasters fairing? My son lives 70 miles east of Baltimore. He says all schools are closed, grocery stores have run out of basics. Croc-where is your se7en, hopefully not in your submersible garage!?
  11. Impressive! This is a Busa engine? If so, I had no idea they could make that kind of power, boosted or not. Maybe add this result to the dyno sheet smackdown thread?
  12. Comp 2 for me. Size: 18x34, or, if not possible, 20x40. 30x70? Nope, that's bigger than my car:).
  13. I will take one, thx.
  14. I will take one also, shd they become available at a semi-reasonable price.
  15. Tom: I am guessing the poster's X-flow has same set up as yours. When the hydraulic clutch on my X-flow got dodgy, replacing the blue slave cylinder fixed it. My memory is also that it was a VW part.
  16. His post says 18 inchers. So, tires are likely low profile, as are yours Loren (40-50 series).
  17. Most 7's including mine, run 1&1/2-2 degrees neg camber, some run more. I am a big believer in results trumping theory, so if higher pressures work, great!. Tire mfg makes a difference along w/sidewall stiffness. Hoosiers are said to "like air".
  18. Bessie: I dont usually blush but.... Anyhow, thank God this conversation is totally private.
  19. Those sevens weren't that nice when they were new! (Did I see Bessie the Seven peeking around a trailer, eyes even more filled with lust than usual?).
  20. I rent an open space in a storage lot for $300 a year. I park my se7en there in the enclosed trailer I use to haul it to it track days. Lot is 5' from my house. Since the se7en is so small, I could also fit it into an enclosed storage space there, but dont need to.
  21. JohnK was kind enough to let me take his Ultralite for a road test yesterday. I liked that it started, nothing fell off and we got home under our own power. Given my recent history w/sevens that's big! Stuff I liked a lot; very slick/quick shifter. Always was able to find the right gear. Even after 200 track miles in my track Cat, I am lost occasionally as to wh/of the 6 speeds I am in and where the gear I want is. No problemo, I will learn it-but on John's there was no learning curve. Nice progressive clutch. Great exhaust sound. Tach, smack in front of my eyes, easy to monitor. Vastly fewer creaks, rattles, groans, etc. Not BMW like but much tighter than any se7en I have owned. Stuff I was neutral about: It is less of a rocket ship that I expected. In part because we were mostly cruising highly populated areas so I cldnt get on it. Like all VTEC's power is an on/off proposition. From 6K-8K it makes serious power. Below, modest. And I was usually below. Also, compared to the Civics etc I have driven, the VTEC power change is much more noticeable, perhaps due to the light weight. Seating position-much higher than my butt-on-the-floor Caterhams and Birkin. For better, and worse. Better view, but felt a bit less a part of the car. Stuff I didnt like as much as my other cars: Steering wheel sits real low, ya kinda reach down to your lap for it. Perhaps because the seat was so high? I did like the feel and speed w/which wheel turned the car, just not location. Brakes, not much feel and took a lot of effort to get the car stopped. John says new grippyer pads are under review. Unknowns: handling-didn't really push it. Something about driving in a residential area, w/cold tires on a irreplaceable car with the owner next to ya that adds an element of driving discretion for wh/I am not otherwise known for:). Bottom line: fun se7en that wonderfully captures the spirit and soul of all the se7ens I have owned to date. I'd be happy to have it in my garage!
  22. Love the jackets too:).
  23. Yah, I know I rweally messed up w/thot maid....
  24. If that's a se7en, then I am Arnold Schwarzenegger:). I do like it tho! Edit: And, a visit to their website shows 2 models, the beautiful one in your post, and a second one that is, in fact, a se7en clone.
  25. A quick stop at HD's website shows your weight # is a bit high Croc: Looks like the heaviest machine they make is a trike, at almost 1200lbs. But the Sportster is under 600 lbs and the big touring rigs 800 lbs. I suspect the # you were given was GVW (bike + riders+luggage).
