  1. I just finished looking through the pictures of the event. Looks like the usual wonderful time. The saddest part of selling my Cat is missing this event - driving and hanging out with all you wonderful weirdos. Lovely blue crossflow, but of course I'm partial to blue Se7ens. Thought I'd share what I replaced the Se7en with. I went to the opposite end of the automotive spectrum, though still a lovely shade of blue. Pushing 2+ tons with 471 ft-lbs of EV torque. Don't knock it til you've tried it. "Complicate, then subtract lightness". Did my first track day a couple weekends ago. Different fun from a Se7en, but still very fun. Cheers.
  2. Specs are here: https://www.alumaklm.com/utility/single-axle/6810-utility-trailer I bought it new last year, and it is in perfect condition. No modifications. My Seven (which I just recently sold :-( ) and this came in just under the 1750 lb towing capacity of our Toyota Rav4 Hybrid, which towed this with no problem. It's a cute little trailer that a standard size Seven fits on nicely. I also have 1500 lb folding aluminum ramps from Tractor Supply that I used to get the Seven on and off. Trailer currently retails for $4295. Asking $3600 OBO. Ramps are $220 new. I'll let those go for $100 firm. They flexed a good amount when I drove up or down them, but always worked fine for me. Your call if you want to trust them or not with your car. Located in Franklin, MA. Local pickup only. Cash only. I'll leave this listing up for a while before I list it on FB Marketplace or Craigslist. 2021-03-27 15.26.19.heic 2021-03-27 15.26.19.heic
  3. Kitcat, John, Bruce, anyone else, BAT wasn't supposed to run the ad until after today, as I have been backpacking in the mountains of New Hampshire and totally unplugged for a few days. I really wanted to alert everyone here before the ad ran. To repeat what I just posted in the Annual NJMP Sevens event thread: Sorry to announce to this group that I am in the process of selling my seven. It's a wonderful car, and we've had a lot of fun together, but for various reasons it is time for me to move on. By far the hardest aspect of selling this car is stepping out of this wonderful community of people, specifically those who attend the annual NJMP sevens days. I have participated each of the past three years, have had a blast on the track, have learned a lot, and have enjoyed connecting with all of you. Croc and Tom thank you for everything you do to make this event happen and to help this community. If you are reading this, have not attended this event, and are considering it - do it. The opportunity to be on track with only sevens is unique and fantastic, and the camaraderie couldn't be better. Keep the tires on the pavement and pointed in the proper direction everyone.
  4. I regret to say that I won't make it this year. Sorry to announce to this group that I am in the process of selling my seven. 5. I didn't weigh the carbon ones, but I can weigh the stainless ones and post in the next couple of days.
  6. Showed my Se7en some love this Winter - filled pits, had rear fenders repainted, and replaced pitted stainless stone guards with carbon fiber. I was actually surprised at how heavy the stainless ones are. Improved the look of the whole car. I figure you guys are the only people I know who would appreciate this fender porn .
  7. Fantastic looking Seven. Will be fun to watch the BAT auction. GLWTA, as they say on BAT.
  8. I own an S3 Cat and a 91 Miata. The Miata is supercharged, with a good aftermarket suspension, but otherwise stock. I track, autocross and street the Cat, autocross and street the Miata (haven't tracked it). Driving each is a different experience. You can read all over this site and elsewhere what the 7 driving experience is like. I definitely feel all the additional weight in the Miata. I know this is a vague statement, but it feels more like a "car" than the cat. A lot of that may have to do with the roominess and conventional windshield. The cat feels like a 7. On the street I could never get near the limits of the 7. With street tires in the Miata I might be able to hit the limit, but that's pretty dangerous driving. Driving the Miata is a more relaxing experience. Driving the 7 I'm always on high alert. I don't think there's any car that is more reliable than an NA Miata. Really. It is incredibly well engineered. I am an engineer and car guy, and the folks who designed the original Miata did an amazing job. Any of the minor shortcomings are well known and documented. Having said all of that - maybe KitKat will chime in. He has a track-oriented 7, and an ND Miata, and he has track experience in both.

    Nice car :-)
  10. Serious comment: I'll bet it's fun to drive. Not Caterham/Lotus fun, but its own kind of fun. Kudos to the builder. Joking comment: It's from the little-known Lotus Subtract Lightness program.
  11. You gotta put a Lego guy with a helmet in there and get a little broom for the broomstick test. And bigger fender protectors for the rear. Those things are kinda skimpy.
  12. That is so cool. An historic replica of a continuation of a kit car.
