  1. Not sure if this is the same one as Croc has above, but at least there is a photo: https://denver.craigslist.org/cto/5643318395.html By the way, Croc, on this one - https://akroncanton.craigslist.org/cto/5637612251.html , you really should warn a brother to put on the safety glasses before looking.
  2. And a Birkin in New Mexico: http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/5570900537.html
  3. Cassandra, Do take Mike up on his offer. I doubt you can find a better counselor. If you are in the DFW area, we have several Birkin folks.
  4. Blue Westfield: Right-hand drive, with 5,758 documented miles, 1600 CROSS FLOW ENGINE with Twin DELLORTO -40 CARBS, 4 speed manual trans, 4 new Tires, new clutch with receipt, includes wet weather gear, and full tonneau cover, well sorted, low mileage car, Adjustable coil overs, disc front drum rear, short throw shifter, Remote oil cooler, full Boot box finished with carpet, Westfield logo on seats, grill, shifter and horn button.. Have copies of UK MOT's back to 2007. Some cracking on the front of hood sides, small bubbles on right side front fender. Could use a carpet cleaning. http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/5529005762.html I didn''t look it up, but I'll bet it's in the Houston area, not Dallas. Don't see a Texas plate.
  5. I believe this was listed here before, but now there are a couple interesting photos. Side curtain, tonneau cover... http://easttexas.craigslist.org/cto/5411767782.html
  6. What about that exhaust? I hope there are some baffles in there.
  7. Croc, Glad you're back. Apparently the rest of us are too lazy to use a bot to plow through the whole interweb thing. Re: "Don't know why this has not sold as it is a solid spec and looks to be in decent condition - I guess potential buyers don't like purple?" I knew a guy trying to sell a 289 Cobra, in its original color, brown. Couldn't sell it, Couldn't sell it... Sprayed it red and upped the price $10,000 (back in the days of $50k) SOLD immediately.
  8. Interesting South African on ebay. Ad says Lexus 4 L. engine, but what transmission? Ad says 5 spd. maunual, and it looks like an H pattern lever, but what is with the paddles? The L & R sides apear to be joined. Interesting indeed.
  9. Oh yeah. I meant, "Something for the South African track mob." Merry Christmas, anyway. -Mark
  10. Something for the track mob. $23k racer http://www.ebay.com/itm/LOTUS-BIRKIN-S2-RACE-CAR-/172038990238?forcerrptr=true&hash=item280e52a99e:g:E60AAOSwSHZWexEi&item=172038990238
  11. Nice Lotus Seven on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lotus-Super-Seven-/281891348354?forcerrptr=true&hash=item41a2089f82:g:4TsAAOSwstxVCcYS&item=281891348354
  12. "Who makes the wheels on this car? I would not mind a set for the Holden... Croc, Who knows, but they look like steel wheels. Check any Nascar/roundy-round/oval racing magazine. Steel race wheels are fairly light and very cheap. I looked at some a few years ago, so dated info - 15 inch were about 18 pounds, strong, and $65. They will make any layout you want for that.
  13. "Have you ever looked at something and wondered where you have seen it before? Well thats this car. Its been on the forum at some point in its history but I have a mental blank as to when (I think it was an OH car?). Reminds me of Dick Brink's garage wall? 2002 Birkin. Zetec with throttle bodies. Unusual mix of polished ali, painted metal in yellow and green fiberglass. Looks very nice. Owner says he drives it from FL to KY for car shows so big kudos there. Asking $34900 on Ebay starting bid with no bids. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Replica-Kit-...m=191753051851 Anyone know the car? Owner is a USA7s forum member?" Croc, Yes he is a forum person. Look at the rear photo of the tall rollbar to see the USA7s sticker. I don't know if he wants me to out him. I recognized the tall roll bar because it is now on my Birkin. I know it is a cosmetic challenge, but I just thought the roll bar should extend higher than the driver's head. -Mark
  14. NOT SEVEN RELATED, but I don't care you you are. If you have any fondness or respect for classic English engineering, this may make you cry: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Other-Makes-Jaguar-XKE-Custom/252154792576?_trksid=p2047675.c100010.m2109&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20150805074509%26meid%3D2351400593674ae29f9bb9bfa91a8abc%26pid%3D100010%26rk%3D19%26rkt%3D19%26sd%3D121808843664 (Found as an Ebay suggestion looking at the Staulker.)
  15. Once it's a bit further along, I intend to post some photos, and I look forward to some good natured ribbing. I especially want to speak for all of us by expressing appreciation for Croc's ongoing service in researching and posting so many fascinating cars and occasionally making useful and entertaining comments. A highlight of every weekend! Many thanks! You should have kept the Miata Thant's what my wife says. "You should have kept the Miata ", but without the smiley face. And about the good natured ribbing, I may work up to posting my old, (#410), shop-worn Birkin photos some day. Be gentle, lads.
  16. Croc, Take a deep breath. It seems one of the tirade emails got under your skin: "Oh and for the dealer who was critical on my views of his car's sale price and emailed me personally off-forum, I would point out that if your car is under sale for a long period and has not sold then I conclude one or more of several things: 1) The seller .... 2) The price ... 3) The car ... 4) ... " I always say, when something doesn't sell in a reasonable time, there is SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE ...(CAR, HOUSE. ETC) And, no matter what is wrong with it, there is a buyer out there. What is Really wrong with it is the PRICE. Relax. The real (paid) members are with you.
  17. Blue Stalker near Dallas, Texas. http://easttexas.craigslist.org/cto/5241471454.html http://images.craigslist.org/00x0x_elvAiyD6F3r_600x450.jpg
  18. It ain't broke. Some people need a reality check as to price or desirability. Leave it as is.
  19. Croc, Did you just use lOGIC and FLEABAY together?
  20. Point well taken, Lotusman. And the nose is not right. But, for the current bid of $3,250, it looks like a lot of fun for the change.
  21. http://bringatrailer.com/listing/1952-lotus-6-altair-racer-tribute/ Lovely Lotus 6 replica. Might want to change the engine, though. Can't think what a 3 cyl. thru a supertrapp sounds like. Nice enough. At the moment only bid to $1,100 !! But wait! Great old Datsun pick-up with no bid. (Forgive me, I am Texan.)
  22. This was up previously. May be motivated now, as the Arizona Series I racer popped up on the Dallas site: http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/5210426207.html
  23. Now Croc, let's be charitable. Overpriced crappy clone chassis back for what seems like the third year http://huntsville.craigslist.org/cto/5142851802.html They think the word "museum" is worth an extra zero. I recall, originally, the "museum" had it donated and did not want it. Take off the zero and just under $500 would look OK. One supposes the purple Storker must be sold by now! Mark
  24. CAswede, "For reference, I would add that my size 11 E's fit fine in an S-3 with a cheap pair of Puma driving shoes. Just keep a pair of walking shoes in the boot." It is true. I wear 11.5 - 12 shoes, depending on the shoe. I can NOT drive the Birkin in anything by race slippers or skinny driving shoes. No street shoes, no tennis shoes. As I recall, Mr. Chapman was an 8.5. It is not a big problem. Change shoes anot throw the others in the boot.
