  1. Don't recall seeing this one. Red racer. https://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/6177111801.html
  2. Congratulations on the new Birkin. Not to start a gang war, but I love telling people that of all the companies Caterham sued, Birkin was the only case Caterham lost. Looks great.
  3. These were manufactured inMexico. Down there, we called it a Safari. My son was gifted one by another starving musician. We cleaned it up and made it reliable (like his later bus). He then sold it for about $1500. The only thing cooler out of late air cooled Mexico was the VW Basic Truck.
  4. Since Croc is other-wise occupied this weekend, I have one that I don't recall seeing here before. https://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/6155194142.html
  5. It doesn't get much better than Monaco in the morning, and Croc's excellent work to get through the yellows and commercials of the 500. Thanks. Of course, now I'm wondering what it would cost to do aluminum fenders and nose. Thanks again, Mark
  6. NOT! But this baby is so cool: http://bringatrailer.com/listing/2012-beauchamp-7-58th-scale-lotus-7-series-2-replica/ Cannot compared to scannon's mine 7, but both are so nice, just give it to a kid.
  7. Awesome trailer. If I ever grow up, I want one1
  8. nice looking car. I am so jealous.
  9. Birkin in Austin, but with California SBwhatever. https://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/6123636915.html
  10. Re: Mecum has a RHD crossflow Westfield for next week's Indy auction https://www.mecum.com/lots/SC0517-30...field-super-7/ A 1988 RHD Caterham for $18000 - thats as cheap as they get ever https://orangecounty.craigslist.org/cto/6061541346.html For anyone really shopping, fear not the RHD. No big deal.
  11. "When did CMC go out of business?" Someone here should know. Or over at LocostUSA. It has been long enough that they have disappeared from the InterNet thing.
  12. Ref: https://miami.craigslist.org/mdc/cto/6109566539.html It occurs to me that if CMC had made as many kits as I have seen for sale, they would still be in business. And a couple hundred pounds lighter than a Series 1 Lotus! No offensive.
  13. I bow to the wisdom of the Croc. I think I'll spring form the Avon ZZSs. I'll also keep the board posted on their suitability for the street for the next 2 years. I was just looking for an excuse to spend more. I shall inform "She of the Purse Strings" that it was Your fault I spent more. "On good advise..."
  14. What? No opinions? Oh, I get it. You just don't want to give up the Knowledge. Fear not, I'm slow anyway. Besides, none of you autocross in Texas Region SCCA.
  15. Jerry, Thanks for the psi info. I tried to ask Falken how low I could go. When the 615 first came out, I was successful in getting to one of their tire engineers for some info (Miata). This last week I tried calling and just got some kid who suggested 22, from the conversation, not an engineer. Anyway, I'll try a couple pounds lower next week. Thanks. Mark
  16. Baby needs new shoes. Now I have 205-50-15 Falken Azenis 615Ks. I don't think they really like only under 400 pounds. I usually run about 16psi autocrossing, but don't feel enough grip. It is driven around town a couple times a week and autocross once a month, so wear is not really a concern. My tires get dry before they are worn out anyway. There are the usual suspects, but I am sorely tempted to try Avon. At twice the price! The CR500 was designed in conjunction with Caterham, so maybe they work with the light weight. The current evolution Avon recommends is the ZZS. Since I would probably not put over 4000 miles on them in 2-3 years, the softness is quite attractive. Anyone using the Avons? Other suggestions? Thanks for input. -Mark
  17. TurboWood : I hope I never come to a situation where I find justification in selling a project I spent >1500hrs on and subsequently barely used. Some silly people claim that there are cures for addictions (mostly spouses). Me, I don't care to go for the treatments. She who rules was a bit miffed about the time I watched the Gran Prix this morning, but I pointed out that her N Y Times could be enjoyed for the same amount of time, so alls good again. Putting up with my goofy cars for 20+ years counts for a lot. However, she says that the Birkin is not usable enough, so I should get another, more practical roadster. If my wife wants me to have two sports cars, who am I to argue?
  18. FYI...BAT results. A real price is what someone will actually pay. 20. Ha. For the benefit of all, how far back, date or screen number was the link to your special search engine?
  21. Birkin in Texas. https://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/6047788442.html Not a lot of info, only 1 photo. Owner in USA7s?
  22. Series 2 on BAT. http://bringatrailer.com/2017/03/17/rare-factory-twin-cam-1963-lotus-seven-s2/ ebay & video
  23. Thanks for NOT pointing out my other mis-spelling. Why doesn't this think habe spel chequer?
  24. OK, Corc. I caught you trying to slip one past us. The "Stalker" on the Iny craigslist is not a Lotus Seven style at all. The ad clearly says it is a 1958 REPLICA LOLA MARK 7 " Guess I'm going to have to brush up on my Lola history. I didn't even know Eric Broadley was building Lolas like this in 58. Wow, up to a MARK 7 in his first year!
