Dyno session didnt go as planned. We ended up with subpar dyno numbers. We were only able to 9 psi out of the supercharger about 12psi from what we want. It appears the supercharger is slipping in the drive section. Rotrex is going to send us a new supercharger larger than the one we currently are using and we will do some testing with it. With the 9 psi we made a 338 rwhp a few hundred short of the goal. Back to drawing board I guess. Dry sump system worked like a champ though. Oil pressure was great from start to finish no leaks anywhere so that is good news. Just need to double up the cfm and I think we will be in the ball park.

Dubler drives everything on two wheels, even when there are four perfectly good ones. He makes some mean chocolate too.

It is a different kind of race for sure. It is touted as a Transcontinental Adventure Rally. It consist of a few racing venues that work alot like the Connonball Run. You run 3 consecutive laps with a total time for the 3 laps. Fastest car gets 100 points the second place car get 99 and so on. They also are given a packet for each day. In the packet there will be a CD with messages on it. The message is a clue to a place or thing that you have to solve. You then have to go to that place or thing and take a picture with either your car or a member of your team with the place or thing. You might have as much as 30 or more challenges to accomplish or try to accomplish in route to the next destination. YOu will recieve so many points for task completed that combines for overall score. Third component is arrival time at the end destination. You get points according to arrival time. This goes to the final score. They also have bonus items at each destination city. For example on of the citys had big clay pots all over town. You got 10 points for each pot you find. Some teams found 3 or 4 Kevin and Michelle found 9. So with this scoring system poor performance in one area can be made up with good performance in another catagory. The team that performs well in all areas is the winner.

Hank John ran mini sprints for a long time. He really likes the wing. If it didn't work I don't think it would still be there. He claims improved stability at high speed. We have had the same experience with our car. He has been running that for a few years.

I really comes down to driving. Some of the competitors have the minimum 2 day driving course and have way faster cars just don't know how to drive them fast.

I was going to give everyone an update on how the Organic Racing Team is doing in the 2010 Fireball run. Kevin and Michelle are attending this years event. I say attending because Kevin said "we are going to go and just take it easy, relax and really unwind and enjoy ourselves. It is to much work to run in front. Since I am running my Excursion I cant really compete on the road coarse so we are going to take it easy" First Event of the whole event is a 1.8 road racing circuit in Nevada. The first call I get from Kevin goes like this. " We did the road coarse today. Man I had that b@@*h sliding with all four tire howling blowing dirt up in every corner. I passed a Charger SRT8 the first lap and a Mustang the 2nd lap and was gaining on the first car but ran out of time and brakes" They run in groups with 20 sec staggered start, they run 3 laps with total time accumilation for the 3 laps. Then they give you points according to your overall placement. Kevin got 11th place out of 35 in a 10,000lb with a 6" lift big tires diesel Excursion tow vehicle. They then go to the autoX portion of the event here he takes 2nd place in the event. After 2nd days they were in 7th place. After last night they are in 1st place overall. Im thinking. Its a good thing they are relaxing and enjoying the event and not stressing over the competition..

That is John Meyers in his SuperStalker now powered by LS3 Chevy. He is smoking fast he ran the Ultimate Track Car Challenge this year he did really well I don't remember his final place. I bet he was first at Run N Gun. He is a super nice guy too.

The newer model might have that option where it looks at the factory sensor instead of a stand alone.

Might need to call AEM about the 1020 and see what the differences are between it and newer models. Since Chuck had his on a 2.0 it should be a plug and play. You could tweak a little for elevation and intake and exhaust differences. The last AEM tune I got the file from the tuner so we could change the map during 1 Lap adjusting for elevation changes. You can go in and highlite the wholes map and then plus or minus a percentage change. I prefer with the close loop so it adjust automatically. It's not s big deal if you stay in the same area most of the time.

S2k7 is your a 2.0 or 2.2?

We already have 6 degrees of caster in the car. We are doing another alignment before to tweek the toe to 0 front and rear we will check the caster again. Thanks for the suggestion.

Kevin had Kenny install titanium valves and new springs when he built the motor. The heads are fantastic stock Kenny just cleaned them a little.

An awesome request, but on the insane side.

These cars take on a whole new definition of fast at that power level. It is hard to wipe the grin off isn't it. -
Mondo glad you finally got that grimlin out. Did you go with 1052u with the wide band sensor or plain 1052. Power level is great 216 rwhp that up about 16 up over a stock ecu. Dyno tuners can screw your car up in a hurry if they aren't familiar with the system. Since the s2000 is so widely tuned I would think most would be fairly proficient with it. That is the main reason we use Kenny Tran he is so good he makes it look easy. A few hours from start to finish. Well now you can really enjoy the car. That limp mode can be frustrating.

Steve Ray Vaughn is one of my favorite. Most rock from 70 to 80s. I like most country except the really old stuff. I have no use for hiphop or rap.

What gearbox are you using? Looks like an Elite? I would be very intrested in this set up. -
ITS ALIVE!!! Mojito is finally breathing again. After a almost 2 years of engine building, a complete makeover of the intercooler system and addition of a dry sump oiling system Mojito is ready to go, almost. We still need to take it to the tuning mystro Kenny Tran in Dallas for a fresh tune on the ECU. It should be fairly close from our previous tune, but with the compression ratio changes and more air being sucked thru the engine with increased boost we want to make sure that it is spot on before we begin to hammer on her. The dry sump system appears to be working great. We have good oil pressure 30 psi at idle and 80 psi in the upper rpm range which is perfect for the Vtec Honda engine. Of course we were not able to accomplish this on our own. Thanks to Chuck Spera helping us sort out the dry sump system. Chuck was the first guy in the Ultralite community to dry sump his car and his tips saved us time and money. Thanks to folks here at USA7s for moral support and suggestions. Your input is welcomed and encouraged now and in the future. Kenny Tran did the engine build and does the tuning for us. Kenny has been in the import drag racing and car tuning business for years and has been great to work with. Kenny owns Jotech Motorsports if you need a engine build or special tuning give him a call http://www.jotechracing.com/ . Keith and Bryan Cox from http://www.kandbstreetrodsandmusclecars.com/ have been instrumental in getting this car back on the road. Im not sure it would have been possible without Keiths knowledge and fabrication skills to get the car done. With the tight confines of the 7 engine compartment pretty much everything had to be custom built to fit in the engine bay. Keith made the bracket that the supercharger bolts to on the oil pan. Keith made the bracket that the dry sump pump mounts to. Keith made the header to clear the dry sump. Keith made new motor mounts. Keith made the dry sump oil tank to fit in the car. Keith made the air box to wrap around the massive water to air intercooler that I think is big enough for an eighteen wheeler. Keith moved the outlets on the radiator so there was enough room to mount the airbox. So as you can see Keith has had a big hand in getting this car together. Im pretty sure it wouldnt have come out this nice if he hadnt helped us out. Thanks to Doc Harmony for paying for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here are a few pics of the finished lay out. As you can see the term "it fits just barely" applies to almost every aspect of this car.

Want to build a race car, possibly with Ford parts.
WestTexasS2K replied to Ruadhd2's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Several Locost builds around using those same parts. Most likely you will need to build your own chassis. The Rotus seems to hold the LS v8 chevy the ford should fit too. -
I would check float level in the rear barb make sure the needle set are clear.
-
Naah Jerry you can put a whole box of toothpicks in there if you like. Of course you might have to take them out of the box and spread them around a little bit to get them to fit.

powerbrake yours is the antilock brake sensor front the Subaru. RSS here is a link to some sensors that should work and are reasonable price. http://store.phoenixamerica.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=P1150 http://www.spectecsensors.com/ all you need to do is make a small L bnracket that attaches to the diff and then put a strong magnet on the CV joint like Jerry has pictured above. Most sensors have two wires. 1 will go to ground the other goes to the sensor. Then just follow the Autometer calbration procedure. One magnet should be sufficient for the speedo work well.
