  1. My autocross club does an event at Canaan now- we will be there next year on June 27-28. I'll have my Cat there and it's a fun group- your daughter would be welcome too. Cumberland Motor Club- find us on Facebook
  2. I've got a nice rig for when I autocross far from home (we run one event right at the top of Maine and that's a long drive and very remote). The trailer is from Pro-Line in New Hampshire (different company from the other Pro-Line), a very nice all aluminum snowmobile trailer modified to my specs and perfect for a Seven. They only sell direct I think.
  3. Just a guess, but reach out to Chris Tchorznicki, at Sevens and Elans. http://www.sevenselans.com/about.htm Chris was located in Massachusetts (Ayer) for many years and either built or knew of most Sevens in New England
  4. When I bought my Cat it was in November- a car listed here whose owner dropped the price and indicated he wanted it gone by winter. The Z3 I sold to buy it went on the market the following spring- I was trying to take advantage of the "Sell a convertible in the Spring, buy it in the Fall" theory, and did. Your car is more particular so I think listing here makes sense and BaT in the spring if necessary.
  5. Chris found one for me a few years ago as well.
  6. Fun to read all of us justifying our toy. I bought mine (off the classifieds here) about ten years ago and I have no interest in selling and it was one of the best things I did in my life. My oldest grandson (I'm 74) is close to his driver's license and then I'm looking forward to autocross with him. My Caterham is a 1993 and the problems I've had are minimal and the joy maximal. Get it.
  7. Sent you a private message, but I'd take just the wheels or wheels and tires. Can you get an approximate price on sending the wheels or the wheels and tires to Maine.
  8. If you just get the daily email you see everything. I get 7 and autocross shirts for myself and others plus shirts as gifts for friends that mean something to them and nothing to me. At my winter autocross party last weekend, two youngsters noticed this shirt for me- I guess I've been around the club long enough.
  9. When one of mine burst My local NAPA dealer allowed me to go behind the desk and look at the rack of hoses and I found one that with a little trimming fit my 93 Caterham perfectly well. I just took my burst hose as a template.
  10. Thanks, I'm looking for a square setup at least 8-9" width. My current tires (Avon slicks) rub in the rear and I didn't like spacers with my studs. Thanks for the links.
  11. Thanks, that doesn't quite work for me, drat.
  12. Can you confirm the wheel widths and the offsets- I might be interested in just the wheels.
  13. I switched from a regular windshield to Brooklands screens on my 93 several years ago and it is a big improvement, though I can't put the top up. Much less buffeting and I can wear a baseball cap up to about 65 mph. Just my regular glasses, never hit anything.
  14. Ha. Normally the slicks come off for road driving but it was only a short trip, Officer, and look it's sunny out and no chance of rain. The reality is as long as I'm moving it's hard to tell they're slicks and the rest of the car draws more attention. It's Maine after all.
  15. One of the advantages of gel coat vs paint is that the holes can be glassed over and red gel coat smoothed into the surrounding area in an invisible way that you can't do with paint.
  16. I used some carbon tubes to make a lightweight easy to remove plate holder. I glued/laid up some slightly larger tubes on the inside of my grill piece and made a bracket from two tubes and some carbon plate. All easily available from carbon suppliers. The plate never moves when in place and is plenty strong. Weight measured in ounces.
  17. I took off my metal screens and went with film- I replace it each year but the fiberglass underneath is fine.
  18. I put on Brookland screens. Can't put the top up but completely ended the buffeting and I can wear a ball cap up to 60 mph.
  19. While we are on the subject, what have people been buying in a smaller size like 5 3/4 or even smaller. My big ones are like the yellow/red ones pictured- bottom mount.
  20. Easy repair on the backside if you have a crack- I've done it twice from an autocross cone. These fenders are just chopped strand fiberglass and quite weak. Sand the backside and put a couple layers cloth down with resin. Tan inch wider than the crack on each side. Be sloppy, no one can see it. Then sand and fill the outside and put on your tape for now.
  21. Truth in advertising is important.
  22. Doesn't quite match up with mine, but I'll add it to my collection.
  23. I've got to make the usual repairs to my passenger rear fender from Autocross (there is a reason why I hit passenger side cones). Need to replace the foam in my oil pan and, as always, looking for a nice wide set of 13" rims to mount new slicks.
  24. I autocross my Seven a lot and switched to 13s and slicks at the same time- first set of slicks were Hoosiers but now I'm on my second set of Avons (from Roger Krauss). I like the 13s and I like the Avons better than Hoosiers- my feeling is the Hoosiers are made for Miata's and Avon understands how light a Seven is. The Miata drivers that ride/drive my Seven all love it, other than the pedal box and seat width:-) In Maine I'm automatically a modified car, being a kit car, so no class penalty for slicks. I'd switch to 13s rather than my 14s for the street too if I could find a set of 13s- I think our cars were designed for more sidewall.
  25. I just mailed a letter I hope will get to his K'port address, but if he's ok with it, message me with his private contact info. We have one last event this fall and I'd like to get him to see it- think it will meet his desire for local racing.
