  1. Al - I sent you an e-mail a couple days back. Let me know if you didn't recieve it. Thanks, Bruce :7drive:
  2. I thought RMSCI still had an online catalog with prices. Some of their fiberglass parts are listed here: http://www.rmsci.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi?fiberglass Is this no longer valid? Bruce :7drive:
  3. Wow Robert, I'm glad you got out ok! :hurray: Any idea what caused it? Bruce :7drive:
  4. I haven't heard anything, but I've been wondering the same thing too. You would think that US prices should drop some.... Bruce :7drive:
  5. Can we please start a separate political thread in Off Topic? That way I can ignore it. "In a nutshell ,please lighten the fk up ." - I guess I'm old fashioned, but I would consider that rude. :ack: "I was gonna post a pic of my car, but every one of them I found shows the car in some state of disassembly" - Mazda, has your car ever been 100% assembled??? Bruce :7drive:
  6. Mostly Elise content, but Sevens were made there in the late 60's, early 70's. Bruce :7drive:
  7. Nice collection, thanks for sharing! We have similar tastes in cars! My wife Nancy is originally from Lexington, and I went to UK and lived down there in the late 70's and early 80's. That shot of the M3 parked on the corner near the horse farm reminded me of the beautiful countryside and the great driving roads there are in the area!! Bruce :7fume:
  8. Thanks Kelly Bruce :7drive:
  9. Kelly - Thanks for the update. Do you have any additional details like the original color, build date, etc? Bruce :7drive:
  10. No affiliation, etc: http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C73158 http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1354712416_520420.jpg Bruce :7drive:
  11. Thought I'd add some additional info regarding the rear axle. It's a cut down Lotus Cortina with a LSD. The rear suspension consists of four equal length trailing arms with a panhard rod. You can see them in this photo: http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/2032989503_38e4dfa671560d24.jpg Not sure how well it would hold up to BDA power, but it certainly would have a better chance than the original TR-10 rear end and suspension set-up. Bruce :7drive:
  12. Happy New Year everybody!! Bruce :7drive:
  13. Check out the thread fitting guide from Pegasus for the difference between NPT and BSP. Close, but not quite the same: https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/threaded-fitting-guide.asp Bruce :7drive:
  14. Hank - Do you have a thread pitch gauge you could measure it with? I usually check out the Pegasus website for all the available fittings: http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/advcat.asp?CategoryID=PLUMADAPT Bruce :7drive:
  15. Nice pictures guys! This one's not mine but still one of my favorites: http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1826425220_20060430_02.jpg Probably not the favorite of my car, but my most recent one from a cold, overcast, November drive through the countryside: http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/548800727_20081112_0008R.jpg Bruce :7drive:
  16. Ian - The rear suspension on the Series 1 should have two curved upper trailing arms with a lower a-frame on the passenger side for lateral location. This is the best picture I could find: http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/501226958_s1raxle.jpg The series 2 had a wider based lower a-frame for lateral location like this: http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/714032500_sevWalters05.jpg Bruce :7drive:
  17. The picture Gary, frame the picture. You don't think my daughter's drawing is worth being framed??? Bruce :7drive:
  18. "did you ever check your transmission fill to see if it is over filled?" Gary - I checked to make sure it was filled to the bottom of the fill hole, drained the transmission, measured the fluid and came up with a little over 53 oz. That should be right at the 3.34 pints that's quoted in the manual. We'll see what I find when I pull the eng/trans in the next week or so. Bruce :7drive:
  19. Martin - Thanks, that was the age group I was looking for! Rob - You were the closest. Morgan - My wife Nancy (used to be 43 years old!) was worried that people would think she drew it. Jon/Mazda - I'd love to see the masterpiece. Actually, if you average the three guesses you're not too far off. The "artist" was my youngest daughter who will be 23 in a couple of weeks. She's not going to live this one down for a while!! Bruce :7drive: PS: I just might get it framed!
  20. One of my family members (who shall remain nameless) wanted to get me a Lotus 7 book, but it didn't ship in time for Christmas so she drew me a card instead. Can you guess the age of the artist??? http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1224291946_20081226_0001.JPG Gotta get ready for dinner, so enjoy your Christmas! Bruce :7drive:
  21. Merry Christmas and a Healthy and Happy New Year to all you Se7en enthusiasts out there!! Bruce :7drive:
  22. Impressive. Nice throttle response too! Bruce :7drive:
  23. Hi Kyo, Thanks for the update. The picture that I borrowed from your blog and posted above seems to be from a Series 3 car SB2540 that I ran across on the Simple Sevens site yesterday. That car was also the featured Series 3 in the 10/07 issue of Classic & Sports Car where the cover story was on the Lotus 7 - "Best Ever Sports Car?". I know you were looking for information/confirmation on the picture of that chassis. Here's the link: http://www.simplesevens.org/rawlinson.htm Hope that helps, Bruce :7drive:
  24. Looks nice Skip! I think some other members are using the same type of trailer for their Sevens and it works out well. I like the looks and some of the construction details of Pete Brock's Orca model, but for the price difference you could probably travel around the world a couple of times! Looks like this: http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/548072045_orca-1.jpg Bruce :7drive:
  25. Kelly - You have a PM Al - I sent you an email. Bruce :7drive:
