Hi Rune, Besides the SimpleSeven site that Ian mentioned, here's a few of the places I check for Lotus/Caterham Seven's for sale: http://forsale.classicandperformancecar.com/results.aspx?v=l&p=1&ma=24 http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/list/29/ http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/carsforsale/lotus http://www.uksportscars.com/ http://lotusowners.com/forsale.htm http://www.prewarcar.com/pre1966/postwar_searchresults.asp?make=Lotus http://www.mikeabbasclassiccars.co.uk/cars_for_sale%20PAGE%203.htm http://www.millwood-mc.com/used.html http://www.paulmattysportscars.co.uk/home.aspx http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/ http://www.sevenselans.com/carsforsale.htm http://www.sussexsportscars.co.uk/ http://www.woodcotesportscars.com/default.asp They don't always have Seven's for sale, but I check back occasionally for new listings.

Robert - I know it comes with new control arms, uprights, anti-roll bar, cross-member, and hoses/hardware so there'd be a fair amount of fabrication. Here's a link to an OZ thread on the subject with pictures of the parts in the kit: http://www.oz-clubbies.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4589&hl=redraven I know Folis J on the Birkinowners list has updated his car to the wide track suspension so you might want to search there as well. I'm not sure what the price of the kit is, but a quick call to Dick Brink should get you that info.

So what is your Tow Vehicle and Trailer look like?
11Budlite replied to MHKflyer52's topic in General Sevens Discussion
2007 Honda Ridgeline, Mission "USA7's Special" trailer, and Prodigy brake controller. The trailer has a 6' x 14' bed so my MGB fit's easily on it as well. I think you could definitely get a smaller trailer if you were using it just for a se7en. Tows real nice, stops real well with the electric brakes, and I get right around 15mpg on the highway averaging 65-70. Here's a link to the thread on the trailer: http://www.usa7s.com/vb/showthread.php?t=263&highlight=mission+trailer -

Looks like a great time! Thanks for sharing Bernie -
I knew there had to be at least one drawback to all that V8 power!

The BMW Z1 was one sports car that used retractable doors, but it was hardly a sales success: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_Z1

That's impressive!

I think you did Gert: http://www.usa7s.com/vb/showthread.php?t=3630

I'm really sorry I couldn't make it to Carlisle this year, but I'm glad the rain held out so you guys could enjoy the day. Thankfully I did get some time to work on the Birkin this weekend so I could have it ready for LOG.

Is one for an oil temp sensor?

"A car viewed by most as a hot rod that performs as well as a seven would be fun too." I've never been a fan of muscle cars but I've always had a soft spot for early hot rods. There's just something about the look and simplicity that really appeals to me. I never really considered owning one but Factory Five looks like they've come out with a version that seems to address a lot of the shortcomings in your typical 30's hot rod without going into the Chip Foose price range. Never seen one in person, and it wouldn't replace a Seven, but it sure looks like it could be interesting! I'm sure they'll have one at Carlisle as well. Here's a link: http://www.factoryfive.com/hotrodhome.html And some pics:

Nice looking car. No affiliation, etc: http://www.lotusowners.com/ForSale/GMCat/index.htm

That is a stunning car! And I agree with you Skip, put some "normal" size wheels and tires on so you could drive it on real roads and that thing is ready to go!

Great news Skip! Hope everything works out for you. -
Post your FAVORITE PHOTO of your 7.

Is there anybody else out there who would love to see Mazda's car and Rod's car in a little side-by-side, Chevy vs Ford competition? Nice pics Jack, but why is your top up? -

Skeeler - The lowered floors do project below the bottom of the car, but they shouldn't be the lowest part of the car. I remember seeing a picture showing how far it projected below the standard floor, but I can't locate it now. Try doing a search for "lowered floor" on Blatchat and you'll have lots of hits: http://www.blatchat.com/searchsp.asp

Thanks for your input guys. I don't think it's going to be this year, but maybe in the future if I can start doing some track days.

Cherik/Bob - From the Emerald K3 manual: "The LC-1 outputs are quite sensitive and can become unstable if connected to a capacitive load. The inline resistor buffers the LC-1 from the ECU input signal filters." From what I've read you can fry the aux circuits on the LC-1 if you don't install the resistor. When I went to the electronics store they only had 1/2 watt resistors so that's what I'm going with for now. "How's that machine running? Getting any usable weather up there yet?" - Unfortunately Cherik, I'm a little behind on my exhaust and ECU upgrades so it's still in the garage. I just finished putting the fuel cell back together after inspecting the bladder, foam, and replacing all the gaskets. I hope to have the ECU wired up this weekend and take it to a local fabricator on Monday to finalize the fitting of the exhaust. And we've had some decent weather lately so I've been using my backup (a '64 MGB) to take to work and to take my yellow lab swimming. He fits a lot better in the MGB!

I know there was a group buy on Kodiak 3-pc wheels a while back, but those wheels are pretty expensive these days. Same with the Panasport 3-pc. I have 15" Enkei RPF1's for my regular wheels and those are less than 10 lbs each. Any other wheels out there that are pretty light and not too expensive in a 13" size, 4 x 100, 30mm offset?

No affiliation, etc. And the chassis has been replaced with a new dedion chassis in 1990, but I still like it!! http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C89565/# Al - how's this for an early hot rod?

From my 1996 Ford Contour manual they list the pressure plate to flywheel bolts at 13-18 lb-ft (18-26 N-m). I'm not sure if they would have changed those specs for the later ZX2 powered cars, but I wouldn't think so. I think I'd use the Caterham specs supplied by Bob for the bellhousing. Just in case you need it, the flywheel to crankshaft bolts are 83 lb-ft (112 N-m).

From the southwest Ct drive last October. Thankfully we were behaving at the time!

I'm in the process of hooking up my Innovative LC-1 to my recently updated Emerald ECU. As part of the installation I have to install a 100 ohm resister in line to the Emerald ECU Aux input. I'm looking at 100 ohm resistors and see various wattage ratings. How do I determine what wattage to use? And what's the best way to hook the resistor to the wiring? Do I cut the ends of the resistor about 1/4"-1/2" long, solder the wiring to the ends, and cover the whole thing with heat shrink tubing? TIA
