These carbon-fiber stiffener slats are waterproof or not? because these can be stitched for better water proofing.

It's depend upon the bolt size and torque fixing. If you manage them properly so it will be the best solution.

I think you should prefer fixing your wire straight to the battery and make it run, that's it.

The problem is you didn't fix the idle mixture properly so it will need to fix and correctly adjusted. Make sure to tighten the top nut it will help in proper balance of carbs.

You can see the correct fixing image upward here, just make sure you fix the same way. It will solve your problem very easily.
