  1. Really looking forward to cuttin' her up! :reddevil:
  2. They said atmospheric pressure was the answer for the piston question, which I think is wrong.
  3. Took this when prompted on another forum and got an 84%. I found it to be very poorly worded and one could easily over analyze the question and get it wrong even though the answer is technically right. For example the 3 light bulb question with the switch bypassing one bulb. When that switch is thrown, the bypassed bulb will still light up ever so faintly, so I clicked 3 bulbs, but their answer is 2.
  4. Let's not talk about last Thursday  Anyone who watched the VT-BC game will know exactly what I'm talking about  And to think I sat out there in the pouring rain for 4 hours to watch that game :cuss:
  5. [Greek to you]These are very common in my world of off-pavement travel, but they are referred to as cutting brakes. To utilize this, an individual disengages the rear wheels, creating a front wheel drive situation, they then apply the brakes to the rear wheels, and by turning sharply to one side or the other can literally pivot around the rear axle of the vehicle. Makes for some pretty spectacular maneuvers on tops of rock faces. [/Greek to you]
  6. Talked to Mazda and Cameron today and it sounds like Cameron is doing much better! He's up and about and his spirits seem pretty good. Mazda said they'll keep him till Thursday due to the IV, but they think he's made it past the worst of it. :) Just thought I'd let you guys know
  7. I can see the similarities, but honestly, I think it's like a patent. If you improve on an existing idea significantly, then you can patent it yourself. I think that's what BMW did. The Mitsu commercial left me spinning and distracted, while the BMW commercial was very effective IMHO. And I don't think it was a blatant copy. BMW's narration added a whole other dimension to the commercial that the mitsu ad lacked.
  8. Hang in there. I wish I could be there to help. Feel free to call on my mom, I'm sure she has time to help if asked.
  9. Check out this sleeper Hayubusa engine in a SMART car
  10. You mean Mazda didn't tell you about my collection?
  11. I guess I have a warped sense of humor as well then, 'cause I found it absolutely hilarious!
  12. I'd love to visit Grand Junction CO some day. The rock crawling out there is pretty sweet!
  13. http://rides.webshots.com/video/3026513330101149359WVpyxw
  14. I just remove the battery completely. That way it's not a factor in the equation
  15. The guys that run in those races are NUTS. You should see the videos. Check out Norwegian Formula Offroad on youtube for some vids. They drive straight up the sides of these big hills of volcanic ash. Often flipping over backwards and tumbling all the way down.
  16. Really? You'd never know looking at your welds    Welded on many vehicles as well and all I've ever done was disconnect the battery. Never had any problems, and they've all been modern EFI computer controlled vehicles.
  17. Any chance of tracking down a high speed video camera? Would be relatively easy to mount it up and film it, then slow it down to diagnose it.
  18. Banned! All of you!
  19. Glad to see everyone made it back safely. I wish there had been an opportunity for me to ride along, but that's how she goes sometimes. I made it back safely, crawler in tow (well my roommate towed it, but same difference) at about 8pm. Mazda, we need to talk about some trailer mods Good to see everyone again, looking forward to your next outing that I can attend
  20. Gentlemen, just wanted to make a quick note in case you check this in the morning before your departure. There is a store located about 3 miles from the house with beer and general provisions. However, the closest liquor store is 22 miles away, so if you're inclined towards the hard stuff you may want to bring it with you. Also, please be careful of gravel in the corners. WV is notorious for using rock chip instead of salt in the winter and then they grade it out in the spring as the 'shoulder'. This is a very eco-friendly way of dealing with ice and is fairly efficient in terms of road maintenance, but it can break you loose if a truck or trailer has gone through the corner a little too tight and kicked a bunch of gravel up on the blacktop. Just something to be aware of. Lastly, amoo, please call me when you are departing Harrisonburg so I will get out of bed() and know when to expect you. Ary
  21. You close doors, you wear warm clothes
  22. An unfortunate turn of events this past weekend for my truck project(my welder broke) has put me in the position to come up on Friday evening and leave on Sunday, so I will most probably be there when you guys get there. This also means that I will have a truck and trailer available at snowshoe in the unfortunate event that someone breaks down and needs to be recovered. Ary PS Amoo, count me in for dinner
  23. Steve, I'm only 23... If she likes sevens/cars she's already got a few bonus points in my book!
  24. Specs on said English lass? I might be able to get up here earlier on Sunday :blueangel:
