  1. Absolutely gorgeous. Looks similar to the retro thunderbirds but about 1000x better and much more nicely executed. I love how thin the pillars appear.
  2. Couldn't see them earlier either, but can see them now...
  3. I wish we could go back to the days of the government protecting our shores, delivering the mail, and leaving us the hell alone. I guess the days of personal responsibility and survival of the fittest are gone. We're entitled to life, liberty, and the PURSUIT of happiness. Nobody ever said happiness was guaranteed or even possible...
  4. LOL! Last year Frankn7 was having charging/idle problems and would die if you came to a stop without catching the throttle. Over the span of a 5 mile drive I think I push or roll started the car at least a dozen times. It's definitely a challenge to push the car and then jump in. A couple of times I was able to roll the rear tire with my hand(no fenders at the time) to get it going.
  5. Sweet, I haven't reached prime age yet!
  6. Just start cutting things out of the way until you don't have any more clearance problems
  7. Hopefully he has introduced you to someone other than himself. Not to knock Mazda or anything, but a ride in his '7' would not give you a true sense of what a 'normal' 7 is like
  8. Is your '98 WRX imported? Didn't think they came to the US until '02? Edit: Nevermind, see you're in NZ
  9. Where do you encounter big rocks in a 7? My definition of big rocks:
  10. That is from way before my time but was absolutely hilarious! Is that from a show, or just a one-part skit?
  11. How come you guys don't just bond the skid plate to the oil pan? In the offroad world, many people just weld a piece of 3/16" plate to the bottom of the oil pan to distribute point load impacts. Seems like where abrasion is the main concern, simply bonding or welding a piece of plate to the bottom would be sufficient and maximize ground clearance.
  12. I rarely am asked if I want to test something around here, it's more of an assumption, but I'll put my name down as a volunteer so I feel better about myself. LOL
  13. I'm thinking I'll make it this year. Shall I bring the trailer along just in case?
  14. What motors/transmissions are guys running in these?
  15. Actually it's not a rumor since I helped put it on, but maybe this post will prompt Mazda to post some freakin pics :cuss:
  16. Yes, Ken Block is a rally driver among other things, and I agree, I think rally drivers are a special breed. You have to be extremely talented or maybe just crazy to drive down a gravel, tree lined road at 90+ mph I'm curious why you say it will cost a lot of $$$$ to get them 'really fast.' Not questioning your opinion, but rather looking for insight. I've been lusting after a subaru for a long time and having looked at their mod costs, they don't seem all that unreasonable to me...
  17. This is now the fastest forum I browse, well done!
  18. I'll pile on as well. I don't come here that often 'cause it takes forever to load. I usually open this site and browse other forums waiting for pages to load here.
  19. I'm out too, gotta work
  20. He did say he was selling to friends which would shorten the pay-off period. Diesels tend to have large tanks, and perhaps he has an in-bed tank, so that would allow quite an extended range. Loren, what kind of Diesel do you have? I'm curious why you decided to go with the biodiesel route as opposed to converting the truck to just run on WVO?
  21. Holy crap, it all looked good till I got to the price tag at the bottom! How long have you projected it will take to break even?
  22. I definitely appreciate the skill/talent, but don't understand his obsession with 1/2 scale. I mean if he were a midget or something....... Also, I would want them to be made of metal so I could sit in my house and bulldose my yard remotely. All that work, and they're not functional.....just seems like a waste.
  23. Since I know the code to your garage and it doesn't have keys, I'll be happy to let you keep it at your house for me :banghead:

I hear ya on the rotor issue. I'm on my 5th set of front rotors in 4 years The straight six was upgraded in '93 to a torquier(sp?) smoother model. They also got rear disc brakes and electronic locking differentials. Good to hear of someone using their Land Cruiser as it was intended instead of just taking it to the mall.
  25. Excuses excuses Al, this is unacceptable. HAHA, JK, I'm not even a member
