  1. I added a spacer to my Sparco wheel which brought it 2" closer. I started with a flat bottom wheel but prefer the round wheel. Quick release is nice if you need some more room getting in and out. Still have the flat bottom Sparco if you're interested.
  2. Another data point... my Ultralite came out to 48% front / 52% rear with driver and fuel. And about 12-15lbs heavier on the driver side. I've noticed that as the fuel burns off the car gets looser.
  3. Mick, Give me a call (703) 945-0509 or e-mail jeffwduncan@gmail.com and we'll set something up.
  4. Mick, If you're willing to cross the bridge into VA, I have an Ultralite S2K that you're welcome to checkout. I'm located in Reston.
  5. Daniel, I have an Ultralite S2K and I've been running 17x7.5 front, 17x8.5 rear, SSR competition wheels with R888 215/45/17s on the front and 255/40/17s on the rear for the street. I've been happy with the wheel/tire combination. And 15x10 rims with slicks work well for auto-x
  6. I'd like to go again.
  7. Thanks Martin. :hurray: The calendar looks great.
  8. http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/51328391_Showcase turn cumberland web.jpg Sliding through the Showcase turn at Cumberland on a warm sunny week-end afternoon.
  9. That's a great looking ultralite I like the inboard front shocks. Hope to see it in person some time.
  10. Thanks Gary and Bruce. It was a fun season. Mazda, We missed you. As Gary said, Matt didn't make it so we've got all winter to figure out how to give him (and his Reynard) a run for his money. Hopefully, we can talk a few more folks into joining the fun next season. It sure would be cool to show up with a bunch of 7s.
  11. Sounds like fun but I'll be in Cumberland. I'd be interested if you do it again some other weekend.
  12. Mazda, Brakes only slow you down If you change you mind let us know. A weekend of autocrossing would definitely take your mind off of all the startup related challenges. Besides, it's going to be a long winter as the events start winding down. I usually bring my son and my wife counts the weekend as quality father/son bonding time;)
  13. Jerry, Great report and pictures. It sounds and looks like a fun event which I hope to get on my list in the future.
  14. Gary, Yes, I heard the same comment, laughed, and concluded they find the 7s as hard cars to beat. It would be great to get a few others to join the fun for the last event of the season. How about it Mazda, is your ride ready for the trip?
  15. Given the performance for the $, it's hard to beat. The attraction for me is it's a exhilarating ride on the street, it's a competitive auto-x car, and it makes for a fun track day car. What more could you want? I first saw one when I was a kid and I've had it on my short list ever since. To top it off, I've ended up meeting some great people in the process.
  16. Gary in his Super Stalker and me driving the Ultralite finished another successful weekend in Cumberland. Gary managed a very strong 2nd place finish two days in a row. Only the BMod Reynard was faster. I couldn't come close to the bar Gary set but I managed to bring the Ultralite home in 4th on Sat and 6th on Sunday several watch ticks behind Gary. Very fun to compete against high powered cars including Vipers, Vettes, and Cobras on a fast course. Harvest Moon results The Pumpkin Carve on Oct 25 and 26 is the last event of year in Cumberland. Lots of fun if anyone else is interested in joining us before winter sets in.
  17. Mazda, You'd have a blast running at Cumberland. And Gary's right, the Saturday night picnic is a good deal, if nothing else to see the amazing car collection/ garage setup. Hope you can make it before the season ends otherwise it's a long wait until spring. :-) Gary, I like your idea of WD-40 or some other equalizer for that crazy fast Reynard/driver combination. He seems to be getting faster and faster.
  18. That was one long course on Saturday (1.6miles). Very fast but I never felt like I knew where I should be for all of the gates. Gary, you definitely figured it out and did more than just sneak past on Saturday. Impressive. Sunday's course flowed better for me and I was lucky enough to put together a good run. I sure would like another crack at the long course. Glad that between the two of us, we could keep 'em on their toes. Mazda, there are still plenty of events at Cumberland later this year to exercise your ground thumping beast once it's back together.
  19. Car looks great!
  20. Mazda: That will be great to get another 7 out there. Gary: Thanks, I'm looking forward to resuming the battle at Cumberland too. I've been telling the guys that run FedEx how much fun the Cumberland events are so hopefully they'll make the trek out some time.
  21. Five 7s made it out to contest DM at FedEx field yesterday. The weather and the competition turned out to be great with the top 3 times all within 4 tenths of a second. Norm Beaver led the way in his '79 Caterham. http://usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1845043944_DM.jpg
  22. Evil, Here are a few pics of my Ultralite I'd like to compare notes some time.
  23. I had a great time at Carlisle and enjoyed putting faces to names. A great group of people. The ride up and back was fun too and I'm happy the weather held out on the way home. Loren, I bought the car from Steve in Jan of last year. It's been a blast so far. I've met lots of fun people as a result.
  24. Bruce, I've had good luck using 40lbs of air in the trailer tires. See you Saturday.
  25. Al, I plan to be there and I'll be bringing my son, so 2 for dinner. Any place is good. Looking forward to seeing/meeting everone.
