Looks like the end of the plugs are wrong for that plug wire kit. It seems to be a half year thing, no big deal. My ends either "clip on" or a wide enough not to slip off the coil pack terminals as is. New part #52099 for anybody readying this who needs this. No local available for that NGK so for now I'll get a temp regular replacement. Also curious enough the resistance on NGK's is minimal compared to the other wires. In the meantime also ordered a mechanical oil pressure gauge

They are not... But congrats! You're officially an influencer... Quick run to store fixes things Will test in a bit and report The ohm values didn't look friendly. They put out about 3.5k but went into NA once I wiggled it...

Pretty sure I replaced them a few years ago but will definitely give them another look while troubleshooting now. .

Pretty sure my Cylinder #4 is misfiring. Temperatures on it are reading drastically colder than the rest #1 450 #2 500 #3 475 #4 250 Also the sound is of a slight misfire Switch the coils between 1 and 4 due to the wasted spark trick and still no change. Going to do another compression and leakdown test, take a look at the spark plug etc

Don't believe it's stock, ordered it from Caterham just to be sure It's behind passenger seat but above the axle. Kind of a PITA spot to get to and the wrenching is from behind the seat with limited and blind room Don't have the part # offhand -
Didn't really see anything that strikes my fancy Anybody order anything?

Oh, I didn't know that Mystique and Contours had them. Maybe I do have a stock motor after all with internals. Who the hell knows but this supports my theory that Contour or Mistique was the donor car for the VCT stamped valve cover engine. This is what the troubled lash cap looked like. Shop said they had to use vice grips to get it off the stem

Pretty sure we settled on the fact that mine are stock. He opened up the valve train by getting the cover off at some point during the tuning. I think at some point I'm better off just ordering new cams and getting another tune. For those wondering, quick google search just found Tom saying that SVT cams aren't interchangeable with non SVT and vice versa. -

Is this stock or with modifications? -
Question as somebody for whom valve train optimization is a big black box. My Zetec was modified to have lash caps during the original build. At some point in time one of the lash caps was seized on and I replaced it (after a VERY long search to find a match). Machine shop did some valve magic they said they needed to do to make things work again properly. Does any of this sound normal? Any issues that can be caused by using lash caps? Stock motors don't use them.

You're right. I was thinking more second hand owners rather than first owners putting on new orders. Not familiar with that demographic whatsoever. -

Let's be frank. Few if any of us will be target market. Whatever it will be it doesn't hit any of the notes that mimic the ethos essence of the 7 that drove us to like the 7. It won't have the pedigree It won't have the lightness It won't have the noise It's unlikely to be just as much of an open concept and will likely have either side glass and or doors and back window You won't be able to put one together at home You won't be able to really service it yourself It will likely be quick but thats not what drives is to these Frankly I'm not sure who the market for this will be. I know they are forced to make them but for who? Will they have airbags and be able to sold directly in US due to passing safety regs? At least that would increase the customer base greatly -
Pretty comprehensive overview Why is there a shark on my Caterham dashboard? 🦈 🤔

No part number. Is this something that is actually needed to be measured? Tuner did his best work to try to find the optimal output by playing with adjustable cam gears. -

I'll scan my paperwork and share what I have My understanding is that Superlight R's at the period were sold with a "200whp" package of a Zetec, ITB's, cam work and maybe a tune. I have receipts and paperwork on my end to my build but it has many mixed messages. Different cams get mentioned in different areas while upon doing headwork on my car it appears that I have stock cams that were custom ground. There are certainly lots of receipts with lots of "$" to the original engine build paperwork. From what I got from the builder and the communications is that this engine was actually his race engine that he used in another 7 that was swapped into this build once he completed it by the dealer. -

I have a Duratec sitting on hand, just not willing to commit to a major swap if I can get ~200hp out of the Zetec setup. At this time I'm pending going FI on the current engine or maybe swapping it over to another Zetec for the ease of swap (either a fresh regular or SVT) I just fail to understand what can be so wrong with this engine with so few miles and passing all the health checks, even if it had a hard life earlier. -

Thanks for that. Here is my graph ~130hp @ 6200 ~122hp @ 5252 It's just not building power in top end -
You'll need to get in line for an SB100 Which is why 7's in CA that are already registered there carry a premium for others that buy them there as they've been through the process and got the exception https://bauerltd.com/the-magical-sb100-registering-your-car-in-california/
