  1. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=744096479860054 vB won't let me embed the FB video and I can't find it on YouTube Twitter link as well
  2. 8 year?. No kidding. That's some lurking.
  3. How did you even find them? Reverse image search doesn't like to them. I'm impressed. I think they have a Instagram as well but no luck on actually getting product out of them.
  4. CF is often used in motorcycle guards/shields and even parts of the actual muffler. Real CF should have no problem standing up to the heat. I can't advice on making your own but I have come across one manufactured by a company. Appears to have been an extremely limited run and maybe even not for sale but worth noting that it exists.
  5. I don't think I've came across this in the searches First person view of Stigs 620R run in the wet Looks like quite a handful to be pushing a car with no aids and that much power in the rain (wet)
  6. Hi Chris. Welcome! As a former forum owner I can relate to a lot of issues of running one.vBulletin software has some bugs and from management side it's hard to be on top of all the loose ends. I'm glad it got sorted out. Are there are other Birkins in the area? Post up a picture! Edit. Seeing this thread bump is a pleasant surprise, 2020 with another curve ball.
  7. This would be almost the perfect car for Doug Demuro to get around to reviewing since it's local to him in CA if they still have it. Great color combo too. They mentioned there was an "old Top Gear episode" with Veyron going against a 620R? I never came across that.
  8. It's the internet and people are visually based. To entice them going through the awesome links I'll embed one of your photos here http://drhasegawa.com/prisoner6birkin/images/171126/DSC_0026s.jpg
  9. Quarter coin works in a pinch. Otherwise a short flat head screwdriver. If you're really fancy you can by a Dzus tool, although not sure how it fits. Generally there is decently ample room to fit even relatively bigger screw drivers. Could be different on an SV
  10. IMO if you're going to be filling in the holes for the switches for the process anyway, just lay one big sheet of CF vinyl. Drastically cheaper, drastically easier and nobody will be able to tell the difference. Actually lighter too if you consider the resin etc. I've done by Aeroscreen in a layer of vinyl because I couldn't justify the price delta or the net weight benefit for the real thing but the look matched my carbon dash, wings, guards etc. Edit: Time benefit too. You could be done in a half hour, beginning to end once the holes are filled
  11. After receiving two broken OEM Caterham windshields I can stand witness they aren't laminated. They seem to crack and break like regular glass. For what that's worth.
  12. Yeah I'm not worried about the defroster. The replacement piece of glass CC sells is just plain glass. Only way to get defrost replacement is in the whole assembly (from what I can tell). My defroster has never been connected. Where did Tbox go? Just a local glass place? They would sell laminated glass? Any idea what the costs were?
  13. After witnessing the laws of entropy in practice by ordering one piece of glass and receiving multiples from England it seems that my options are limited to finding something local or sate side at least. Anybody have experience with replacing the windshield glass? Just the glass without assembly or heater elements. I checked beachmanracing website and they only list the entire windshield assembly. Is this something a local glass place can cut with relative ease, since it's a flat piece and and I have a mockup? Anybody ever go through insurance for this? How do glass places treat vehicles that they don't stock or can really order for?
  14. Those are SLR model wheels, discontinued. They are Mike Barnby (MB) 3 piece wheels with impossible to find center caps. They came in two varieties, one regular flat and one with rolled bead lip which was preferred. It's easier to buy a 7 with them on already than to buy just the wheels. Sometimes these are also called "KN". Not sure why. Supercharging isn't something I'm serious about right now but will at least mock up to see how feasible it is or it isn't dimensionally. I need to send the ITB's off this winter and I already have the SC on hand. The opportunity is there..
  15. One thing I'd like to add, without referencing any sale in particular, but a 7 that is already registered makes life a lot easier in many states to transfer registration into than starting from square 1, and that alone can carry a premium.
  16. Any reason not to list it on BAT or even be the first 7 on cars & bids?
  17. Am I missing something about the 7 on BAT to justify the price? Croc is it the color?
  18. I can concur with my Zetec/Quaife 6 speed. Had leaks from the bellhousing front and back. When the engine/transmission had to come out for the clutch failure everything was addressed. It was not fun hunting down gaskets for the T9 and there were at least a few varieties to them too. I did manage to find them state side in NE. I can plug the contact here when I get home. I'll likely need another set regardless if my 5 speed will ever need to go into the car. Transmission was leaking from everywhere. Multiple locations in the top and all the seals in the front. I think one of them is a press/contact seal without a gasket which is also concerning. Don't remember if we used a gasket maker on it or not. Edit: found the email John Esposito Quantum Mechanics LTD. 315 Riggs Street, Building A Unit 3 Oxford, Ct. 06478 Phone 203-463-8299
  19. Upgraded the rails and weighted the supercharger. Not sure how it will fit yet but it's bigger and heavier than I remembered it. Figured when I send the ITBs for a refresh it will be a perfect chance to mock up the SC and see how it fits (or doesn't). Duratec SC looks much smaller in comparison. That might have to be long term solution. 43 lbs without rest of accessories!
