  3. I have a Landyachtz DH Race longboard. The guy who designed it is a good friend of mine. I had just upgraded to some really soft Krypto wheels, three weeks before my wedding. I went to carve a turn in my neighbourhood. The board turned, I didn't. As I lay there in the middle of the road with a lot of skin missing, hoping nobody saw me do that, I figured the tux would cover most of the damage. I hung it up on the wall in the garage, and haven't messed with it since. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/63/173396419_1c3ce55982_b.jpg My street luge, however, is much safer..... G
  4. Those retail new for $85,000 CDN up here.
  5. I'm onto my third Mr.Gasket (Facet) pump in 8000km's. The latest design is slightly different, and MUCH quieter than the cube. But since they fail so frequently, to stop this last one from failing I bought an AC/Delco pump (EP12S) Airtex E8012s equivalent, and I keep it in the boot. http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/lethal-locost-cacks-its-second-fuel-pump/1441/page1/
  6. I'm envious of the space. Three cars in a two car garage: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/skinnyg/DSC00135.jpg That orange Ariens in the bottom left, for you folks way down south of the 49th, is a "snow thrower."
  7. An interesting streamed video (about 50 minutes): http://tinyurl.com/ytnp69
  8. Ive been to hell. I spell it... I spell it dmv Anyone thats been there knows precisely what I mean Stood there and I've waited and choked back the urge to scream And if I had my druthers I'd screw a chimpanzee-call it pointless Primus, "DMV"
  9. I used an MG Midget rack in my book build, with 7-1/2" removed. Mazda B2000 (and B2200?) pickup steering universals work sweet. They also fit (s-l-o-w) Chevette racks, too.
  10. Drove there and back (about 800km round trip) with nary a problem. Well, ok, the starter quit. So we bomb started it the entire weekend. Nice thing is you can always find someone willing to push it for you. I could push it myself if I could only get in fast enough. Day one was great, we ended mid-pack. Day two was wet in Biblical proportions. And I left my keel at home. You'd point and shoot, then wait until the cascading waterfall of splash subsided, then looked to see where you were and point and shoot again in the right direction. My co-driver hit such a tidal fury he ran aground ~way~ off track. Hydroplaning on 20x9.5x13 slicks was an event all to itself. Once the hull was on plane, you just hung on until you came to shore. The slalom section was a good port-starboard-port negotiation. The entire left side of my body was soaked. On the side of the course map, I added the words "Beyond here there be Dragons!" In all, it was a very very fun event. The car was working awesome! (I was not, but it was a blast!) YouTube Video
  11. What are the spindles from, do you know? Thanks! G
  12. Similarly, This drunk driver hit the lamp post and tore it off. But kept driving. Cops found him, the truck, and the lamp post in the parking lot of a local pub. This was in Vernon BC, 30 minutes north of my house. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/skinnyg/000e01c8945c8cf249906700a8c0.jpg G

    A Big WTF

Naw, it still works: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/average However, if Kalitta had hit the Median, he would probably be alive today. Though possibly a bit burnt.

    A Big WTF

Is it just me, or wasn't the dough-head idea of putting a concrete wall at the end of the drag strip poorly though-out in the first place? I'd ditch the concrete, and place a sand trap or something. Look at runaway lanes for rigs in the mountains. No concrete there. 17. Nope, but I could draw a diagram if you need.
  18. I run a cheap Mr.Gasket low pressure pump feeding an external surge tank. The surge tank then feeds an External fuel pump off on F-150 pickup. The injectors return to the surge tank, and the surge tank overflows back into the regular tank. I can run on darn near fumes and still don't run out of fuel pressure. Though the MrGasket pump clucking away when it is starved makes people thing my engine's rods are gooned.... G
  19. More power. Mwuhahahahahahhahahahahaha!
  20. I think it was.... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/skinnyg/Locost2008022b.jpg
  21. So, there was basically me in my Locost. One of www.super7cars.com 's Caterhams came up Saturday afternoon and was in the car show, but wasn't there Sunday. A fairly ratty S2 drove through the pits and parked at David Seville-Peck's area, but wasn't in the show. So...... Although I didn't parade up the hill, I did have a rectal rocket Smokie, and I did drive a wack of back roads between the hill and my house both days. Not all bad. Not an incredibly impressive turnout. Maybe next year.... Then again, it was the All-British meet at Van Dusen Gardens in Vancouver the same weekend. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/skinnyg/Locost2008022.jpg G
  22. Well, all of us have a set of slicks up here for all our cars - don't you guys? Some kind of Provincial benefits. Seriously, it's the only way to stay safe in front of an SUV. G
  23. Just drive it http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/skinnyg/DSC01654e.jpg
  24. Have you checked for a leaking or blown headgasket? I would put money on this. Combustion gasses/temperature getting into the coolant at speed cannot be dissipated by ANY cooling system - yet the engine will run nice and cool at idle. Pull the rad cap off with the engine idling. As it heats up and the thermostat opens, you may see a bazillion tiny bubbles frothing through the coolant - probably overflowing out the rad filler - the head gasket is your culprit. Failing this, many shops have a dye they can use to test for the existence of combustion gasses in your coolant. G
