Can anyone help me locate this lightbulb? I need two to get the warning lights operational in my dashboard. The only writing on them states 12v3W--12 volts 3 watts. No part number or manufacturer. The overall height is 3/4 of an inch--19 mm and the diameter is 1/4 inch or 6.35mm. Is does have two lugs, just not shown in the picture. I've check the typical British Car parts places but no luck. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/148348851_DSCN0541.JPG

Did anyone try to wash the windshield or should i say windscreen? LOL
-
Thanks--my main concern was the quality, safety etc of the various maufacturers hence the possible discussions. Since that appears to not be the case, I went ahead and ordered the Superlites. After some internet research and e-bay, I found a better deal on the Superlites and saved even more.
-
Not to start a wild frantic discussion, but i am looking to replace the original stamped steel rims on my '82 with an aluminum wheel. Does it really make much difference if buy Panasports, Minilites, or Superlites? They are all close to the same pricing and look about the same. I've noticed the differences in weight, but for a street car for the occasional drive i dont think it really matters. I'm looking for a set of 7 x 13's(4 x 3.75" lug pattern), gotten quotes and ready to buy, but keep thinking there might be something i'm missing. Thoughts?

My watch band broke yesterday--the 4th day I've worn it. Very poor quality as the material is very thin. Hopefully it is a standard size so I'll go look for a replacement band. Maybe we should start a watch parts bin--we'll send in the broken ones that we don't want and mix and match pieces for those who want to try and keep theirs operational? Hmmm--a separate thread in the "Parts" section?
-
Mine seems to be fine--but have only worn it a total of two days--maybe the watchs take after the French--they only work a few days a week and take lots of holidays. LOL!! :7drive: I'd be willing to spend a few dollars more and get a better timepiece.

Dave and Skip, Problem solved!! Made a cardboard version of the top hose and bent a piece of thin copper line for the bottom--walked into the local "old time" parts store and told them what I wanted to do--after laughing, they let me in the back. I walked out with two hoses, part number 71577 for the top and a 20700 (Gates)for the bottom. The top hose took a few minutes as i had to shorten it a bit, the bottom hose was a perfect fit. So the cooling system is finished, now for the final touches on the ignition system. If all goes well, it should be running by this weekend!! Thanks to both for the suggestions, Sal

Dave, Great idea-- i will try that if no one else responds. The upper hose will be easy as the radiator inlet and engine outlet are on the same level--the bottom will be much hareder, bends, drops, etc but it is still a possibility. There must be someone out there that has part numbers!!! Thanks, Sal

I finally installed the engine and transmision yesterday--interesting to see the angle the assembly must be at to get it in there. Now for the interesting question: Does any know the part numbers for the upper and lower radiator hoses--i hoping that someone knows a NAPA, Autozone, or Advanced Auto part number. I ordered hoses from Caterham but they are nowhere close to fitting. I've installed a Xflow 1600 in a series 3 Caterham. The thermostst outlet points out towards the front of the vehicle in the direction of the input to the radiator. Thanks

Here's your chance to get a great deal on a 1600 crossflow timing chain and gear set--comes complete with the rub block. All parts are new--never installed--taken out of the packaging for the picture. 115.00 plus actual shiping. Sal http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1139191408_crossflow gear and chain set.jpg

Ford 1600 Xflow Head--no longer available
fnmag58 replied to fnmag58's topic in Parts For Sale / Wanted
It's the stock cast iron head. -
Anyone out there need a rebuilable head for a XFLOW. Came off of a running engine--looks like it just needs to be cleaned up and a valve job. This is an original cast iron 711 head. Sal No longer available

Guess that was worth the 100K!!

So if you ever wondered if you should mount a fire extinguisher, here's your answer--if not for you then maybe someone else. Not sure what happenend, but it may have been saved if there was one around. Friend of mine almost lost his favorite ride--a good samaritan came along with one and saved his car--he now carries one!! He originally didnt want one because "it will add weight and throw off the car's balance!"

Looking for help! From Mazda harassing me!
fnmag58 replied to BobDrye's topic in General Sevens Discussion
As they once said(well almost) in Blazing Saddles: Hood, Hood, ---we dont need no stinkin' hood!! If you have one and dont use it, it would be a " I rebuilt my engine and want to show it off before I put it back on" backyard mentality. In you case, it's a work of art and worthy to let everyone see but not touch. Enjoy it and dont worry about the whiny ones! -
Tentative sign-up for me, Saturday looks good. Car is approaching 50% completion. Sorry Al but I can't make it--everything to finish it up is taking a lot more time than I planned. Frustrating but you just have to keep after it. Hope all the attendees have a great time and the weather cooperates.

RK, I have an entire rocker assembly--all the rockers, adjusters, spring spacers, etc. Came from an engine that I am rebuilding and replacing with the HP aluminum rocker set-up. Send me a follow-up if you're interested.

Mazda, Any word on the two watchs I ordered? Seems that if the guys in Canada got theirs, a shipment to northern VA should have arrived by now!!! Do you have a tracking number or something to check. Thanks! This is the last present for my wife's Christmas to be complete!!
-
EburgE, I have both a stand and a hoist available but possibly to far away from you. But they are available so just ask--located in Stafford, VA.
-
Hi Gary, Welcome aboard, it nice to see we have another member here in northern VA. I'm in Stafford and willing to help in any way I can. I agree with Bob, we should have a meet-and-greet for the locals. Please keep in touch so we know when you receive your car.

Does anyone have the paint name and code number for the Yellow that Lotus/Caterham uses on their cars? There certainly are quite a few yellows out there and I would like to get the right one. Is there such a thing as British Racing Yellow? Thanks.

Are you getting Seven stuff for Christmas?

My goodie box contains a new front grill with the 7 emblem, The' watch, shocks, a T shirt from Tony V, and, while its not in a box, a 711M Xflow engine to rebuild. -
Just my belief but the red striped stuf is most likely an form of lock-tite that sets after tourque has been applied and the bolt sets for a while and is also a way of identifying the crank bolts are new and have not been used before as most bolts that are for holding the fly wheel to the crank are one time use only hardware due to the loading they are subjected too. :iagree: This is the best way to identify if the bolts have been used before--remember than when you apply the final torque value, you are actually stretching the bolts and at roughly 80% of the bolts overall strength. You sure dont want to use them again.

Hey gang, I have a completely assembled 2.0L pinto engine (SP2000) that is no longer needed. If you're looking for a nice engine, not siezed, let me know-- i need to get it out of my way and will even make a wood crate and bring it to the local trucking company if you can't get here to pick it up. direct e-mail: fnmag58@aol.com Thanks, Sal

Wow--what an education. Thanks to all who posted the great info. Looks like I need to give up on the 4 point and look at a better system. The car will primarily be driven on the street but the added protection and security is needed. So back to the stock system for now--get rid of the 4 point--and do more research. Thanks again for helping me avoid a mistake. Sal:iagree:
