  1. look forward to seeing the supercharger set up (and numbers) What is that "mocal" thing with the light blue hoses attached to it?
  2. I always thought that Congress/Senate should only have a certain number of bills they could pass a year (give each rep 2-10). That would eliminate all the Flag burning, steroid use, and generally trivial stuff compared to what needs to be done. Same for State Legislatures. On this private vs government work... you got to keep in mind the biggest rip offs are from private business trying to get one over (Haliburton, aircraft/defense companies etc..). It's not so much the lazy gov worker (though they are there too). Government really should spend more on accountability but it seems that's where they cut first. When I was in the military they had an incentive program that gave you a percentage of the savings that the Air Force would save with your suggestion. Some guys got thousands (and the government saved a ton). Taxes - I wouldn't mind a flat tax but, and it's a big but, the tax should be on everything earned... yes, capital gains, inheritance, etc. If everything earned was taxed it would probably not be a big percentage of gross income and the middle class would likely see the least impact as they live from paycheck to paycheck now. Of course that wouldn't happen because middle class have the mortgage deduction and businesses would complain they need tax incentives to grow... But if it was a level playing field I think it would be ok (overseas business would have to be different I imagine and being relatively naive there's probably a lot more I don't know about. But a national flat tax or sales tax (with all the existing exceptions for business/wealty) hurts the middle class the most in my humble opinion.
  3. I'm no economist but I don't know how we, as a nation (and has a population) can take on anymore debt. Maybe they should let inflation take off, then when everything cost more and salaries increase, the debt won't seem so large. Especially if the loan interest is locked into today's rate. Not good for me though as I've just started receiving my pension. It is frustrating seeing these wild swings every few days...
  4. It is nice when people can express their ideas and not get slammed... I agree with Box in that I don't have any weapons in my house (2 kids at home) but your welcome to have them in your home if you choose. And if someone enters your house in the middle of the night, you have the right to blow them away without asking what they're doing there etc... As far as the drug issue, I don't think making it legal has helped the problem in countries like Holland. No matter how cheap you make them, drug addicts won't be able to hold a job so they'll likely be the one who enters someone else's house at night and gets blown away.... maybe legalizing drugs is the solution;) Perhaps they should try it with marijuana first and see how it goes... short of stealing Doritos from a 7/11 it might not be a big deal.
  5. Things might be looking up http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23710970/?GT1=43001
  6. I would think that a single 2.5 muffler would be plenty sufficient flow for a 4 cylinder and you could still split it after the muffler for the same look.... make it a little easier on yourself, save a little space and $$
  7. I think that exhaust makes your car look really clean (nothing down both sides). Sounded pretty good when I heard that Ebay video... I don't know about how restrictive it is. But if possible I'd keep that route, especially if it's only going to make a couple HP difference. I wish I had that option.
  8. They make an awesome sportbike... 675cc triple cylinder I had the 2002 Daytona 955i triple cylinder sport bike. Very nice and competitive with the Yamaha R1 of the same year (except about 30lbs heavier). It was actually very reliable, no problems or leaks. The problem was the next year the Japanese bikes went up about 30 horsepower and Triumph didn't respond (mine was 147hp). I lightened the bike, revalved/resprung the suspension and had an underseat exhaust that sounded awesome with the triple cylinder motor. But that want for more horsepower was calling. Last year I decided it was either a dedicated track bike, a new Ducati 1098s, or a fast car to play with. Well, the track bike would sit too much, the Ducati would always have me worrying about dropping it (my reflexes aren't the same as I'm not getting any younger..) so I started looking at cars and saw the 7s. Brian's finishing off my ultralite and should be getting a call to pick it up any day now. Can't wait!
  9. just wear a helmet;) http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1333816308_classic helmet.jpg

I think the coupe looks better. Don't know why electric cars have to cost so much... http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/car/3632/k.o-8-Coupe.html
  11. I was looking at this for the side pipe http://www.koolmat.com/side-exhaust.shtml This is some expensive stuff... http://www.koolmat.com/heatmast.shtml
  12. Never thought of it before..... having some kind of automatic adjustments based on speed and turning of the steering wheel would be the ultimate. Imagine F1 does that, if allowed.
  13. check these sites out http://www.classicgoggles.com/goggles/merchant.mv? http://www.cglasses.com/index.html
  14. Welcome haiku88, I have a very similar history, having motorcycles my whole life and living to tell the tale. The new sportbikes are just too easy to ride fast:iagree: Taking delivery of an ultralite soon and hope to still find that same excitement and not freak out like I did dodging a spot of dirt on the road with my knee close to the ground.....
  15. awesome plane.. we had one of the stealth fighters crash near here in the 80s, before they admitted they had stealth fighters:o
  16. Man... anyone interested in a 7 ought to check that out quick!
  17. Except for the wheels, his asking price is probably pretty close to what he paid for it new (if he bought it turnkey). I'm going an inch wider (not taller) on the rear of mine too; 17/9 inch.... pretty much for looks (or in preparation for supercharger:reddevil: ) If he would of sold last summer I probably would of seriously bid on it. Hopefully we'll have a new member soon:thumbs: .
  18. Well at least after all that work, now you can say you built it ... wouldn't say it was a turnkey;) Like I said before, your car on Ebay was the one that got me looking into 7s, and after all is said and done, I will be picking up my black S2K from Brian in 2 weeks. Glad you've found solutions to everything, that ECU stuff scares me....
  19. Should have no problem, looks very nice. It's kind of funny that they all look pretty close but we definitely have our favorites/must haves. Good luck with the S1.
  20. It has a round steering wheel and doesn't even have the red light scrolling across the hood
  21. Yeah, he should of made 2 of everything while he was at it. That way he could drive one and stare at the other:cheers: Or just paint your car with this and you'll just like it: http://www.innate.com/Paint/Chrome/Chrome.htm
  22. I think he was selling a custom tow vehicle to go with it as well (doubt it's included in that price)
  23. Lets see, we spent our way into this problem and the answer is to spend our way out of it? We all are going to bite the bullet sooner or later with this mess. Seems no one wants to take financial responsibiity and take the bull by the horns.... It's not as simple as cutting taxes either. It needs a combination of sacrifice. But, oh yeah, it's an election year
  24. If your serious, can't beat the price to have one stashed... http://www.motodirect.com/servlet/Categories?category=Street+Apparel%3ARain+Suits&gclid=CIy904__rZECFRUmawodYnUOeg rainsuits for $35
