  1. Thanks for the offer but I think the pics were what I needed. Hi Jack, Since I probably can't beat Keisel (who can?) it likely doesn't matter. Depending on the field A/M might be a better choice. It is easily removed though. I have given thoughts to a diffuser. I/we have pans underneath front and rear that should help but extending it out the rear with a diffuser but haven't fully thought it through.
  2. I never got a template :nopity:
  3. Not sure but that's a good question. I run in E Mod and I thought wings are OK in all mod classes but I'm not sure. Really doesn't matter though because in E Mod when you get to Nationals you have to run against Keisel in the Rotary Sprite.
  4. Thanks for the comment Mike. I mostly AutoX with this car with some Time Trial events mixed in. I have an old RX7 I just painted for wheel to wheel. The paint may look familiar:deadhorse: As for the whiskers that sounds about correct. Should they be level or slightly nose down do you think? No instructions or photos were forthcoming from Caterham.
  5. Just finished the rear wing install. Seat of the pants shows three things on the street. Wind noise around my head is reduced Not sure about the downforce if any has been added Looks BadAss! I have also purchased the carbon fiber front whiskers from Caterham. What opinions do you guys have on mounting, low or high?:bigear:
  6. I went with a small Braille battery (about 9 lbs.) in my Stalker. Price was $150 +/- if I remember correctly. More than enough to crank my V6 over and run the accessories. Going on my 3rd year with it so it seems to be holding up well.
  7. I'm 6'3" 250 and fit comfortably in my Stalker. I have sat in a Birkin, somewhat tight by comparison. I have sat in a Caterham or two, about the same as the Birkin. Never sat in an Ultralite. I would recommend that you consider how much time you would be spending at one time in the car because running a 45 second Autox is a lot different than taking a 2 hr. cruise. I am glad I built a Stalker because I couldn't imagine spending more than 20 minutes in a smaller car. Just my 2 cents
  8. I have a set of S10 wheels that have been powder coated from my Stalker. I have gone to different wider wheels. These wheels may require spacers depending on which rear you are using. I have those as well if you want them. If you like the Yellow as I do (my new wheels are the same color) then these are a bargain. Wheels (4) are $300 shipped. Spacers are $25.00 each wheel. PM me.
  9. Exactly correct Bonjo 2. Stalkers are harder to drive than a momentum car (or 7) but once (if) mastered are so much more rewarding.
  10. Mine has a slightly warmed over L67 that puts out about 320hp but the real joy is the supercharger that gives instant torque right off idle. Once learned it is a real weapon as it reduces the number of gear changes required. Caterhams are great, I'd love to own one at some point.
  11. I prefer to look at is a case of best of both worlds!
  12. Respectfully disagree Terry. Stalkers oversteer if anything. Maybe it has to do with the solid rear axle or the additional weight of the V6? I run 10" wide wheels all around and slightly wider tires in the rear (22") vs front (20"). I do not experience oversteer when autocrossing unless I am driving way over the limit. Throttle induced oversteer on the other hand is always available should one want it!
  13. Stalkers (with race rubber) use 10" wide wheels as the standard on the track of for AutoX. I am reasonably sure that is why he wants the wider fenders.
  14. Don't want to hijack this thread but does anyone make a software setup that will work with Traqmate on a Mac? The virtual version through parallels sucks big time!
  15. Saw it in Dallas with my wife. She liked it even though she is not a racing fan.
  16. I had one. Similar handling to a 7 in the sense that they both handle great. Being mid engined the 914 has the benefits of all mid engined cars and the disadvantages too. The Porsche 914-6 is a truly great car, better handling than a 911 in Autocross but not quite as good on the track. The 1.7 and 2.0 are lacking on power but still fun Very spartan on the inside and you sit very low. I like that part. If I was going to do an engine swap a Subaru 6 from an STi would be my choice. I'd buy one of those.
  17. Great looking car. I like the black but I chose a different path.
  18. I love them, lots of grip, reasonably long lasting. 2 sets will last all year and I do about 30 events

  19. Here's another with the good set of wheels
  20. A pic of mine in action this summer
  21. I for one like it. Too bad we can't get them here.
  22. I'm looking for a set of 10" wide front cycle fenders and some aero mods for my Stalker. I have a rear wing but am interested in any front wings that others may have tried.
  23. Anyone? PM me or email me at coyote4544@verizon.net
  24. +1 on the Stalker
  25. The standard Stalker felt roomier in most areas. I also got Dennis to ad 1 inch to my frame when it was made, which he said was doable. In a car small like a 7, every inch helps.
