  1. Glad the car is fine! How much will a new tank set you back? A good lesson in not putting electrics next to tanks/fittings.
  2. Oh drill presses...the poor mans lathe. Great for remodeling that .001" tolerance I just paid the machine shop $30 for.
  3. Go do it again!
  4. independent throttle body....one butterfly valve/cylinder. It helps throttle response at the cost of weight/complexity Extra noise comes from the air rushing into the tubes. Long, single throttle bodies act as silencers... very cool mod to do. edit: quick google
  5. my donor's odometer stopped working at 287k. I guess Ill have to get that figured out.

what if your tow vehicle is a seven?
  7. It was stormin thats for sure. Last night was crazy- I've heard stories from friends of destroyed stop lights and hydroplaning on the road from the water. Woke up today (at um...4pm) to water pouring from the sky and marble sized hail. The locost frame is probably a little soggy under the tarp, but I'll deal with the rust tomorrow... The wind was pretty intense. But, as Rob said, it all missed Gatech, and I wasn't crazy enough to want to venture out of our pro-tech-tive (sorry for that!) bubble. Its my spring break...cant wait for nice weather to work on the car!!:yesnod:
  8. It is one of my biggest fears that someone messes with my locost project. I like the "now its stress relieved" comment...
  9. I plan on being there. Looking forward to heckling Keith while he wrenches on the miata. I'll be the one tossing in extra bolts from the side line and saying "I wouldn't do that if I were you!" Maybe we should do a headcount and do a 7's meet and great?
  10. Saturday, March 29, 2008. Free for spectators. On Georgia Tech's campus. http://www.gatechautoshow.com/index.php This is one of the better car shows I attend. There are a lot of high quality cars that range from super exotic (Enzo) to cool (home made tube frame dragster), to unusual (steam engines). Entering the judged car show is limited Georgia tech students and alumni. There was one stalker 7 there last year, but I didn't have the chance to talk to the owner. Anyone know who the tech/atlanta area stalker owner is? Come by and check it out. Ill be there. Various galleries of previous shows

    hayabusa go car

Putting a hayabusa engine in a go car is like powering a bullet with an stick of dynamite. Its gonna be quick and probably near impossible to control. Website: http://karthayabusa.blogspot.com/ videos: http://jalopnik.com/365341/busa-kart?autoplay=true
  13. 12:30pm at the varsity. Double check here before you go. After lunch, everyone is welcome to stop by my place to check out my build in progress. It is very close to the varsity and there is plenty of parking. Hopefully the rain will be good to us. My build is fully outdoors... weather.com for atlanta: http://www.weather.com/weather/local/30313?from=dayDetails_topnav_undeclared it looks like it will snow in the morning and be clear by 12. I hope some of you owners can still bring your cars! :7rain: Feel free to give me a call- two, zero, three, five, zero zero, zero, eight, zero, nine.
  14. This was actually one of my original design goals... sort of like a seven limbo contest.
  15. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/249186385_Photo 78.jpg stylish and they do work as well (tested with my head out the window of a camaro at 90...I dont see why it being a camaro makes a difference or why I am still typing...) They are from an online military surplus site I am told- best christmas present ever.
  16. Move to nominate for best thread ever? some side by side webcam/most recent picture would be cool....
  17. LS2 and LS7's in the mid engine configuration? With what sort of transmission (if you know)? It seems like one company found a market (ariel) and now lots of newcomers want in. This company, RCR, and even a chinese variant (well, its more o f a go cart). Maybe we're witnessing the rebirth of the featherweight sports car?
  18. Ooo shiny. The car looks great!
  19. I'm glad most of the issues are relatively small. I am a little scared about the people that originally assembled the car! What else might be lurking to come undone? I'd do a through inspection of all the bolts before the car gets up to speed (I'm sure you already have though). I liked the video of the rear end. It took about 3 seconds to guess what happened. :banghead:
  20. You would think for $34k BIN, the seller might list more information. Especially if no expense was spared... I guess when buying a seven, only the rim size matters? :banghead:
  21. That is very impressive! I wonder how it works on not-so-straight trees though...
  22. Warning: 2 foot range.
  23. its about 18 feet long and 1 and a half lanes wide, eh?
