I guess that really makes it "before its time"
  2. The "Busa Rule" applies to intentional foreign language participation in middle of threads, so us ignorant Americans can't understand what's being said by members using the forum :banghead: (example of why Busa rule was needed... see 6th or 7th post down, along with the next few posts http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/Default.aspx?g=posts&t=1401 ) Now I'm off to watch the vid.
  3. darn... we weren't supposed to tell Jon about the one in 2008 :leaving:
  4. Loren, please shoot me an email.
  5. Article got a little scrambled towards the end there.
  6. well, I've noticed a couple of glitches with the newsletter so far... we'll chalk it up to growing pains.
  7. man, all I have left is brake and clutch lines to drive her around the block, but I've wasted 2 days around the local parts stores looking for feaking fittings. :banghead:
  8. today was a major mental milestone... My favorite Tshirt from my college days - My Formula SAE shirt - developed a huge 10" tear in the back when I tried to take it off at the pool today I got this shirt in 1990, and have worn it semi regularly. I still have a couple of older Tshirts, but not attached to them like the FSAE shirt. She'll be missed, and now I feel old. :leaving:

  10. VERY nicely done!
  11. He's not doing that engine any favors by running without the exhaust header/manifold on.
  12. Truer words have never been spoken. Also, one reason a high powered seven is relatively easy to control is that you practically sit on the rear axle. So any tendency for the car to step out is immediately communicated to your azz . Not terribly exciting, but very effective.
  13. Hey, I take offense to that . My engine runs, and IT'S LOUD with open headers. It's just the brakes, clutch, and driveshaft that keep me from driving it now.
  14. Have you ever been guilty of looking at others your own age and thinking, "surely I can't look that old?" Well.... you will love this one: My name is Alice Smith and I was sitting in the waiting room for my first appointment with a new dentist. I noticed his DDS diploma, which bore his full name. Suddenly I remembered a tall, dark haired boy with the same name had been in my high school class some forty years ago. could he be the same guy I had a secret crush on, way back then? Upon seeing him, however, I quickly discarded any such thought. This balding, gray haired man with the deeply lined face was way too old to have been my classmate. After he examined my teeth, I asked him if he had attended Morgan Park High School. "Yes, yes, I did. Go Morgan Mustangs," he gleamed with pride. "When did you graduate," I asked. He answered, "In 1968, why do you ask?" "You were in my class," I exclaimed. He looked at me closely, then that ugly, old, bald, wrinkled, fat a$$, gray haired, decrepit son of a beotch asked, "What class did you teach?":rofl::rofl:
  15. Time to go out for a spin.... wait... :banghead:
  16. This car was for sale a while back - 550 hp Busa based engine... ran the quarter in the 9's http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/Default.aspx?g=posts&t=2123 Bob's car is powered by a turbo Nissan power plant. Still tuning. Expected to have 500+ hp. My car is heavier than those at about 1800 lbs. powered by LS1 with mild head/cam. Last year dynoed at 385 rwhp with stock manifolds. Have long tubes now. 402 LS2 coming in a couple of years I can't speak for the rest, but the mega power is not usable at low speeds, BUT, at least in my case it is very controllable, and where it comes to play is as you accelerate past 70 MPH. I decided to stay away from peaky engines. The LS1 power curve is very predictable, and I have no problem controlling it in autocrosses, etc. I hooked up a data logger to mine at an autox a couple of years back - never went over 50% throttle, and stayed at about 25% throttle most of the time - so if autox is your thing, 200-250hp is all you need. At 70, if I punch it, I still get wheel spin, but I can keep my foot burried - this is with fairly worn out R compound 315 tires.
  17. that was great. thanks.

  21. Congrats. That's a hell of a car
  22. If you can see and hitch a ride in this car, that'll give you a good indication of how far a seven can push the performance envelope.
