  1. feel free to make any post like that in the regional events section. also for members in your area, please see here: http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/Default.aspx?g=posts&t=1127
  2. Maybe my brain was just fried. After posting that, I went and laid in bed. The I realized D'oh, I already have a buckle on them... I was too tired to come back down and say that. Although, on mine, the metal bolt piece is connected to the belt in a section that's sewn in around it. but the solution will work.
  3. Gert, when you say you tossed the metal connectors, you mean you cut them out? did you buy the pieces needed to wrap the strap onto itself around the bar? I would simply wrap mine around the lower horizontal member of the roll bar... if you look carefully at this pic, you can also see the threaded inserts I have welded into that member for my current seat belt setup: http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/130880879_CIMG2617.JPG My seats do have an opening for shoulder belts, so there is no problem with the belts slipping off my shoulder.
  4. seems like a damn nice car for that price.
  5. Yes, except those look like the kind that wrap around the bar, and mine are the type with a metal connector at the end designed to bolt into the chassis, so I can't infinitely adjust the length on the end.
  6. I hope he had good memories :bigears:
  7. so far, folis and preston have also driven my car (with me as passenger). In both cases, I had to encourage them to experiment with pushing the go pedal a little more. Preston listened :willy:
  8. he's a selfish bastard
  9. To Al's credit, he just handed me the keys to his car on the dragon :willy:. Prior to that, I had only driven his car on the highway on the way down there. He is very trusting I drove it at 80%. The TT was a fun car, and with AWD, a pretty safe car to drive there. He's lucky we didn't take my C5
  10. Well, my nephew drove mine for the first time yesterday, and then again today. Damn car looks intimidating.
  11. Watched someone else drive your seven? It's a pretty cool experience.
  12. All sounds good. I may have to just come one day this time due to wife's work schedule. Really looking forward to getting her out there to stretch her legs out again. It's been a long time coming
  13. Gary, do you have the registration link, and link to any safety requirements? My car will be mechanically sound, but with no body work. My wife is working that weekend, but I'm going to see if I can swing coming out there... will have to do something with the kids.
  14. Cool. I'll take you up on that! I won't touch Mr. Orange. I promise. The only thing I'd like to do out there is the cars and coffee thing.
  15. that's awesome.
  16. i'm curious how the front suspension on that is setup. the upper aarm is extended like it's levering the spring inboard, but looks like there is a pushrod as well.
  17. will they have any in October? I'm gone most of september, but should be able to have the car ready by Oct.
  18. he didn't really punch him. If he can fake walking on the moon, he can fake a simple punch in the face
  19. did 300+ hp make all the pain go away?
  20. Yeah, but right before that, he's like 'aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah YEAH!'
  21. I have a set of RJS 5 point seat belts. These used to bolt to a 1" bar above the axle, then come through the opening in the seat. In the redesign, I incorporated mounting locations into the lower cross member on the roll bar (1.75" round tube), so the shoulder belts do not need to be as long. Now they are too long and can not be adjusted to be short enough. Has anyone run into this?
  22. Yeah, that's not the battery size that i'll be using. I have to go pick up an Odyssey or something similar soon. Then I can finalize the firewall and battery mount.
  23. alot of locost guys use the Yamaha R1 shocks. those things are tiny.
