  1. ... and with that, major hacking operations on Frankn7 are over. The frame will have 4 tubes added as diagonal braces for the tunnel, as well as curved pieces on the outside, behind the driver elbow. Then it's off to the dash tubes, skinning and reassembly. Front suspension will stay as is for now, until the rest of the car is pretty much back together. Arya also weighed some of the components, and surprisingly, his massive engine cradle is actually lighter than the stock LS1 motor mount adaptors by about 4 pounds. It should stiffen up the chassis as well, as it ties the middle of the engine bay from side to side. We will loose another 30 lbs by switching to headers and lighter mufflers. There is also another 20-30 lbs of framing, windshield, etc... that won't be going back on. and another 10-15 lbs of electronics. These losses should more than offset the weight gain for the proper roll bar and strengthened trunk area.
  2. PA is not known for high quality roads.
  3. When did your car stop running? I must not be paying attention. I thought you had it on the road.
  4. Jon, I think the rule is... if you lick the car, it's yours
  5. anybody recall who this guy is, and whose car he is leaning on? http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1103958168_jon.jpg
  6. That one is so over the hood line, there is no way to even try to hide it. He needs one of the prostock NHRA hood scoops
  7. Interesting. too bad they don't have more info on the car.
  8. Note to Arya: You need a ram across your hood with rollers at the end. You can use it to push off the sides and get more traction Note to Self: When you are going to let Arya drive the seven, make sure to tell him to stay on public highways. Also, take the car back if he says "don't worry, I'll treat it like it's my own"
  9. Very nice guy. One of the few guys I got to spend any time with at the Dragon... and he does get around: http://www.race-cars.com/carsold/march/m722x1/m722x1pf.jpg

    Weigh In...

175 lbs, after dinner, without the car
  11. He's gonna need more than a hose clamp for that
  12. dang. Alot of watches not working right . I only knew of 1 before this thread. I'll forward this thread to Jean...
  13. d'oh, totally misread your message... you are selling a set at $200? yes, I'm interested. can you email me pics / condition they're in?
  14. they should just use the center tunnel straight through the back and use thrust to drive the car. why waste available traction on pushing the car if you don't have to?
  15. at one point i had a set of z06 wheels, a set of thin spokes, and a set of wagon wheels, but I sold the wagon wheels, so I'm using the thin spokes on the vette, and the z06 set on frankn7. $200-300 is doable for thin spokes if you don't want perfect ones.
  16. rot roh... bob has started. there will be very little work done on frankn7 until late April. Hopefully it'll be a mad dash to the finish from there.
  17. Yes, I figured this order will be MUCH smaller. I think there were 2 or 3 folks last time who didn't get it due to timing.
  18. hmmm... so, that's 2 if there are others, may be I need to organize a group warranty shipment. Jean has offered to replace any watch that's defective. I think for any one watch, it's not worth the hassle, but if there are multiple... Anyone else encounter issues?
  19. I often wondered how Schumacher would do head to head against guys like Senna and Gilles... THIS, I find pretty amazing Bike Race
  20. Jean from the sevener forum in France will be making a new run of watches. The design is a little bit different than last time: http://img257.imageshack.us/img257/3899/montremphxh5.jpg http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/6775/montremph2zr2.gif Our cost is 22 Euros (at the current conversion rate, eleventy billion dollars), and then shipping and handling, which should be about $8-$10 Let's see if there is any interest, and if someone else would like to step up for being the aggregator this time They are also offering stickers (but USA7s will have its own stickers shortly). Here are the stickers being offered by Jean. They are 3.5 - 4 Euros, depending on quantity http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/1981/plancheukxp1.jpg They are stickers made of tiny vinyl, and they are precut. They are provided ready to fit with their special transfer paper. Dimension : 7.5 x 4 cm Available colors : black, anthracite, ligh grey, blue , white, green, red, orange, yellow. Here is a zoom view: http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/4112/exempledm9.jpg I will start a seperate thread when usa7s stickers become available.
  21. yes, that would be certain disaster in a seven
  22. I missed that if you hadn't said anything Steve. Looks like they were having a good time.
  23. heh... on the Skyline trip a couple of years ago, we all got pulled over. The officer walks up to my car and says "Sir, are you aware your car is leaking gas?" I asked if I could get out and check it. I had just filled up, and the tank had developed a crack right at the filler neck. After we were all done, rolled it off the puddle and went on my way. After the top part of the tank leaked out, it stopped leaking until I got home. I replaced the whole tank. There were no electrical or moving mechanical devices near the leak area to worry about. Your version is much more dramatic though.
