  1. do you have a pancake on your head?
  2. No, it was brown vinyl. That's what was on the car when I bought it.
  3. Thanks Steve. played with some cardboard tonight... I think i'll be happy with this dash when done. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/115040170_CIMG2444.JPG

  5. Cross tube added (welding not finished yet) http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1881365891_CIMG2440.JPG Nice and even with the roll bar http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/571284790_CIMG2439.JPG
  6. I love the look of shiny new aluminum
  7. Everytime I look at the car I realize there is SO much work left... I guess I'm just not as dedicated as Kevin to work on it in 48 hour chunks. The current goal is to have the car mechanically running by Carlisle. Not sure if we will be able to skin any of it. I might just have to park it far away from the seven tent to not offend anyone
  8. 2nd pod in place... The bar on the driver side needs to be adjusted up 1/2" Tomorrow night i'll get the tube across the top and that should form the dash structure. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/143665049_CIMG2431.JPG With the seat moved back, the car is super easy to get into... I almost have to reach to operate the pedals.
  9. This section gets real quiet. :skep:
  10. finally got to spend some time on the car. project of the day was the dash pod for the driver side. Everything is temporarily tacked in. The dash will have quite a bit of rake (30 degrees) http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/538553658_CIMG2421.JPG A shot of the driver side pod. It will be connected via a tube at the top to the passenger side to form the hood line. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/645066378_CIMG2422.JPG Playing with the steering wheel. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/785906547_CIMG2426.JPG
  11. I know the new car is a different animal than the old one, but how much of an impact does the wing have on high speed corners? Did you play with adjusting it?
  12. Hagerty here. It's a great deal for them, considering my car hasn't been on the road since Nov :ack:
  13. Great job Gert.
  14. Nobody has ever confused my dual 3" exhaust with a VDub
  15. Steve, another great shot  I love the shadow in front of the car.
  16. Is it on the road now?
  17. I'll be at that stage the 2nd / 3rd week of May. How are you bending those sheets?
  18. Yes, a Se7en liter LS-7 will be a very nice touch. Maybe next year.
  19. Supersized.
  20. My little bender About $8 in wood, some scrap metals for handles, some bolts and nuts You'll need a router, radius arm, and a 1/2" cove bit.
  21. even if they ask me what it is, I usually say "it's a Kit car, replica of a Lotus 7"
  22. You're supposed to use it dry - especially if you're gonna heat the tube. I tried bending light (.050) and heavy (.120) tubing with that, and gave up on it. As I said before, didn't try sand.
  23. Bob, I have the HF version of that, and it kinks tubes like there is no tomorrow It will probably work if filled with sand. Southwind, If you want to do tight colapse free bends, go with http://www.jd2.com/ . That's what Arya used for my roll bar, and the results are fantastic. No sand filling needed, and very accurate bends. For more free flowing curves (LARGE radius), you need a 3 roller bender, but those are $1000...
