  1. they added too much lightness
  2. Bill and Marcy are in Knoxville - very nice people with a very nice Caterham... again, that's probably 3 hours away.
  3. if we can line up an autox, take her for a spin :yesnod: I'm fairly certain she'll be on the road again by then
  4. cool... looking forward to seeing it. Looks like Mojo is sharing some secrets with her new cousin.
  5. heh... she is far from home. but she'll be back, better than ever. I don't know if we have time to do the front suspension the way I like it this time around, but after this round of mods, I've addressed alot of what I thought the car needed. Soon enough it'll be time to really tune the suspension and do some :jonautox:
  6. Mandurath and Jack Green are both near you - both locosts... in the general section, there is a frppr map link that shows members nearby. There is one Caterham in Knoxville, but that's kinda far away. If you're ever around DC, there are probably about 20 sevens running around here... Caterhams, Ultralites, and [cough] V8s[/cough]
  7. If a tree falls in the forest...
  8. http://msnbcmedia3.msn.com/j/msnbc/Components/ArtAndPhoto-Fronts/COVER/080222/g-080222-cvr-B2-crash-8p.hmedium.jpg HAGATNA, Guam - The Air Force says a B-2 stealth bomber crashed on Guam, but the two pilots ejected safely. "They have been evaluated by medical authorities and are in good condition," the Air Force said in a statement. An Air Force spokeswoman was not immediately available for further details. KUAM TV news reported that the crash happened at around 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Anderson Air Force Base. Residents in the nearby town of Yigo reported seeing large plumes of black smoke coming from the base, the TV station reported. Guam Fire Department's Angel Llagas told KUAM that a large explosion was reported to the island's 911 service and two units responded to the call. Each B-2 bomber costs about $1.2 billion to build. All 21 stealth bombers are based at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri but the Air Force has been rotating several of them along with B-1 and B-52 bombers through Guam since 2004. The rotations are designed to boost the U.S. security presence in the Asia-Pacific region while other U.S. forces are diverted to fight in the Middle East. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/3/3a/DF-SD-07-12193.JPEG/800px-DF-SD-07-12193.JPEG
  9. I'm glad I just got around to reading this thread
  10. 10 years late
  11. Man, I've been SO busy the last few days... finally had a chance to sit down and watch these. THANKS a buch for posting them. Great videos. ... and I'm with xflow7 on "It's just a place to rest your foot while you're on your way to an accident.". Great line
  12. novice schools are a GREAT idea... other than coming out with the philly boys to play last year, I only do school/test & tune autocrosses for a few reasons: 1- MUCH more seat time - it is not uncommon to get 30 runs in a day 2- You can get REAL help from instructors, both with your skills, and your car's setup. They can ride in the car with you, drive your car with you in it, etc... It is amazing to see someone get in your car for the first time and beat your time handily. I've only done the DC SCCA schools - I assume philly reigon is similar.
  13. In retrospect, adding more power is relatively harmless, as long as the tube frames are intact. I certainly enjoyed running with you guys at Aberdeen and plan to do it again (if Aberdeen will still be around). EvilRomeo, sounds like your car is in decent shape after some TLC
  14. OEM = Once upon a time Equiped by Manufacturer
  15. don't know anything about caterham masters, but damn, $400?! is it different than the standard master cylinders you can get from Tilton? If not, you just need to know the bore size...
  16. sweet car. I think Steve T posted a vid of one of your runs. Unbelievable.
  17. I was only tenth of the way serious.
  18. Nice combo
  19. The problem is that Arya has a fine selection of cutting tools  His portable band saw is awesome.
  20. We have a plan for that :yesnod: the hitch "assembly" will be a bolt on to the two bottom tubes that form the floor of the trunk. When finished, I will issue a challenge to Busa for a tractor pull :jester:
  21. Hi Martin, Arya's bender is from http://www.jd2.com/ As you can see, he does some really nice bends - with no redo's. Every bend came out perfectly. Yes, In the past my focus was to add power and make the car fun. This year's mods focus purely on the chassis. We are making it significantly safer with a real roll bar with proper bracing, and although I can't prove it, I think our modifications will also add significant stiffness due to what we are doing to the center tunnel. Before, the tunnel did not tie to the rest of the car very well... We have also lengthened the passenger compartment so taller people can ride/drive, and moved the engine / tranny back in the chassis for better weight distribution, and up into the chassis to get rid of the exposed oil pan to allow the car to be lowered alot more. In the process we have destroyed half the chassis  . A running joke between Arya and I is "Wow, we got alot done today. The chassis is even less complete"
