    EFR Is Alive

    Oops!!! What happened?
  2. Scott, what's the measurement on the rack itself, without the tie rods (from inner tie rod joint to inner tie rod joint)?
  3. did the two leads touch inside the tank? I'm surprised a fire even started if that's the case - seems like there shouldn't be enough Oxygen for it to get going. But since it did actually ignite, you're very lucky it wasn't MUCH worse. Glad you were able to contain it, and quick thinking to cut off its O2 supply.
  4. THE ECONOMY IS SO BAD, that; I got a pre-declined credit card in the mail. I ordered a burger at McDonalds and the kid behind the counter asked, "Can you afford fries with that?" CEO's are now playing miniature golf. If the bank returns your check marked "Insufficient Funds," you call them and ask if they meant you or them. Hot Wheels and Matchbox stocks are trading higher than GM. McDonalds is selling the 1/4 ouncer. Parents in Beverly Hills fired their nannies and learned their children's names. A truckload of Americans was caught sneaking into Mexico . Dick Cheney took his stockbroker hunting. Motel Six won't leave the light on anymore. The Mafia is laying off judges. Exxon-Mobil laid off 25 Congressmen.
  5. no worries... shoot me a PM if you need a post moved.
  6. I've opened a trouble ticket. We got moved to a new server on the 28th, and I think this is when troubles started showing up.
  7. I've started seeing this error twice now in the offtopic section. Others seeing this often? Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '[', expecting '(' in /home/usa7snet/public_html/vb/includes/class_dm_user.php on line 2522 Happens when I make a post. Post is made, but error appears.
  8. ... it's now famous on the interweb. Kudos to Hyundai for replacing the victim's car. http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/article/719165---worst-parking-job-victim-given-car?bn=1
  9. I'm going totally electric - manual rack, power steering provided via electric motor in steering column. The particular unit I have is from a Vauxhall, but you can get a very similar unit here in the states from Chevy Cobalt and Pontiac G5. I believe Prius, Mazda 3 and a few others use a similar setup. Power assist level is adjustable via a knob on the dash, down to no assist (if it all goes as planned)
  10. man, that's a beautiful car.
  11. Awesome. mine will be coming soon.
  12. test post
  13. '10 CTSV will be my next sedan in a few years... Awesome ride.
  14. well, i've seen 2 Rotus aluminum frames in person at Dennis' shop, so yes, they are aluminum. One frame (I believe this one) has larger cross section aluminum tubing to offer equivalent strength to the steel tube. The other one, actually had different cross section tubes, some rectangular, and was re-engineered specifically for use of aluminum. That's all I know. I agree with Martin... you better be handy with welding aluminum to take this project on.
  15. good find.
  16. good job! If you're gonna upgrade, you might as well jump in head first.
  17. At least you drive a yellow seven
  18. damn straight. that'll make me smile everyday, and twice on sunday.
  19. The standard Rotus just has a plain aluminum bonnet. That one is not standard. And as Rob said, the nose looks different too. The lower control arms look like the ones that came on my car (and Rob's), but the upper looks different to me - although it's been a couple of years since I ditched mine. The upper Aarms in the Rotus carry bending loads.

    joke

A dude is telling his buddy about this great place he took the wife for lunch. He can't remember the name of the place though. He asks his buddy "What's the name of that flower you give to women?" His buddy guesses a couple flowers but not the right one. "No, no, no" he says, "It's that red one with the thorns." "Ohhhh, you mean a rose?" His buddy says. Dude says "yeah! That's the one." He turns around and yells "Hey Rose, what's the name of that restaurant we went to?"
  21. Also contact John @ simplesevens.com with your serial number.
  22. hey Morgan, the 2nd photo more closely matches the color of the car as I remember it too, but for some reason the first photo is more poetic (I realize they're the same photo)
  23. Just messin' with ya. I happen to have a V8 powered seven that I've been running with no hood for the last year
