  1. You guys are nuts
  2. Bruce, say hello to Nancy. She's a real sport riding along when it's that cold.
  3. Rob is a very nice guy. He got me REALLY good with the grill prank at the dragon.
  4. of course LS1 will fit. I will have to make it out of oak though
  5. Looks like BMW took a crack at 'em and just fell short http://www.bmwblog.com/2008/09/10/2009-cadillac-cts-v-vs-2008-bmw-m5/ I love the bias of the author... Cliff notes... CTSV vs M5... each driven by factory driver respectively (for GM, their test driver who set the record at the 'ring with the CTSV, for BMW, factory driver who is on their ALMS team). CTSV turns better time... excuse excuse excuse, blah blah blah... translates to BMW rips GM a new one. Gotta love bench racing.
  6. yeah... good luck finding Vauxhall pieces there. I did find an OMP steering column adaptor in the UK so far.
  7. I have the Vauxhall steering assembly here now. Next step is to figure out how to connect it to either end... On the steering wheel end, it looks like 52 teeth (and one or two missing in a flat spot). Ideas?
  8. Gary, do you have a picture of these? or a link?
  9. I'm looking for a new set of latches... tell me what you prefer.
  10. No drivin' for me today. Decided to disassemble the Jag rear to get rid of the parts of it I won't be using. Hopefully will get new glass for the windshield and have the hood secured by next week... it almost looks like a car now
  11. now you sound like one of the voices in my head. lol.
  12. Hey Steve, the idea is to use the scoop, but it will be glassed in to the nose, and attached to the hood, blended in and painted. The back of the scoop would be extended for a smooth finish.
  13. sweeet! thanks for sharing.
  14. well, a couple of years ago, I had the full hood and my exhaust was the factory manifolds inside the body. That was HOT. since the headers immediately exit the body, I'm hoping it won't be as bad. I will also be trying to route most of the radiator air out of the suspension holes by the nose cone.
  15. playing around today... have an idea on the dash - windshield area, but nothing made yet. The scoop will be extended in the back and glassed in for the front. Won't proceed with everything till power steering is in, and I can make sure I will have room for putting wipers in too.
  16. another fine example of government at work.
  17. If you blat your way towards Maryland on Saturday afternoon, I can blat up your way.
  18. LS motor fits in everything
  19. so... what are you picking up?
  20. Back in the day I used to do natural gas and propane conversions, and one of my customers was a gray market Morgan importer. There were the old school wood/galvanized steel frame jobs. I did get some seat time behind the wheel, except that when I had them in my possession, they did not have seats or bumpers. I used to sit on the floor and drive them.
  21. If you happen to go by DC, you're welcome to crash our place...
  22. bummer. that part of the dash is pretty much open in my car, but I won't know for sure if it fits until I have the pieces in my hands
  23. What's this "easier" you speak of? If I did that to my vette, then I'd have to buy another one.
  24. skip, I was gonna go with a unit from a cobalt. there are a number of cars that offer the power steering unit integrated into the steering shaft. I just ordered a unit from UK from a vauxhaul similar to this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/Vauxhall-corsa-power-steering-column-with-electric-unit_W0QQitemZ260481454168QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item3ca5e79058&_trksid=p3286.m63.l1177 The reason I went with that, is there is a guy in the uk who sells a cheap module to emulate the vehicle speed sensor (using a dash mounted pot) to make the steering effort adjustable. the whole setup including shipping was $200. The same solution should work with a cobalt unit, except I didn't feel like looking up which vehicle signals are needed and have to build something to fake them.
