  1. Big congrats Kitcat :hurray: I think you can rev to 6500, but I used to top out at 6000 with my crossflow just to be on the safe side. The oil might be the little breather pipe, or the collector that someone already pointed out. You can now look forward to years of setting off car alarms :jester:
  2. Box makes a good point (I have a spare rear wing, slightly scratched, but there's not enough room for it, me and clothes). That said I might have some small bits kicking around, so I'll bring those. FYI; I remember on club outings in the UK we would coordinate certain spares in case anyone had a problem - again small stuff (throttle and clutch cables, that kind of thing), but with the range of marques/engines etc. that might not make sense...
  3. And the trailer!
  4. before and after pics Al, if you get chance... Thanks.

  6. Doh, always read beneath the avatar :banghead: No time to lose.
  7. Welcome Dave (from another ex-pat Brit). Where in France are you? Steve.

  10. Thanks Bruce
  11. Sorry, for some reason I cannot seem to get the photo to upload :banghead: I'll try again later...
  12. Man, they are beautiful cars... I found this photo I took at the Goodwood Festival in the late 90's. Much as I hate polishing Ali, the results are sometimes magic. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/183281419_11 at goodwood, web.jpg
  13. Jeff, One of my oldest friends in the UK has been historic racing for over 30 years - originally in his old Jag 120 and the car below (which he bought in Paris in 1970 for $5K ), now in a 60's Alfa. I used to go with him to trackdays just to drool and beg for passenger rides, of which I got a few). Happy days...
  14. Way cool  Some very nice machinery there. Are the 250 SWB and 250 LM real or replicas? Apologies if that's a rude question:shocked:
  15. Great pics, Al, thanks for posting. Mazda will be pleased to hear that I have a 'still plays with cars' sweatshirt. Can't imagine why...
  16. Note that is neither Jim nor Mazda nor I in the photo. It looks like all three of you... :jester:
  17. I took my 'leatherman', cellphone, hat, sunscreen (it was July...) and lots and lots of water. The AAA tow package is an excellent idea.
  18. Scud, You could maybe try one of the aftermarket suppliers? For Caterham there's carbon-bits.com who offer 'a carbon composite version of every aluminum panel on your car' (maybe the name should have been 'hard bits for sevens'), which means they have the templates. If they won't release the drawings or specs - and I doubt they would personally - they might at least give you some leads or advice. Steve.
  19. I drove mine home - only 700 miles but made it in one day :hurray: If you could get a 'cheap' flight there and do one overnight at a motel on the way back, you could save a bundle...
  20. You are being seriously polite, Al
  21. Opps, sorry Dave, forgot that's from my UK contacts book. They're apparently very good, but will be V expensive at todays exchange rate (and do not get me started on that ) I'm sure you can do better 'locally'
  22. Dave, no personal experience, but I remember someone 'highly recommending' the 6.25" titanium silencer from http://www.raceco.com/ on one of the seven forums a while back. Steve. PS: if you go ahead, please post details and photos as there's few of us that might be interested in that mod (OK, I might be interested in that mod). Thanks.
  23. Quiet day by the look of it, and raining by the end of the lap. I think I prefer the higher camera angle (top of roll cage rather than crossbar like R1 has?), though it's nice to get closer to a drivers eye view - shame about that mirror!
  24. Or, as we Brits like to say... wankers!
  25. Tom, not much use, but if you ever rip the left (drivers side) rear off I have a spare! It's red and has a scrape, but should attach OK. Oh, it's off a 2000 Caterham. Steve.
