  1. I am not an engineer, matter of fact im not that good with math. But, when we discussed this on locostusa, the wings on an A-mod car produce 300lbs of down force at 60 mph. Those wings however, are huge! But, someone with the right understanding of areodynamics and the right design programs could probably desing some functional wings-fenders. Doesnt the CSR have small winglets of something built into its fenders?
  2. I may have to look at these more. In my semi or on my bikes, i just used notepads or memerised where i needed to go. If exploring, i just used my map. Nice thing about commercial maps vs wal mart special is the details of the states (there are also laminated so can write on them or get them wet). But nowhere near these new computer maps.
  3. I like them all. Then again, until mine is running, all i can do is admire others anyway.
  4. Buy it, enjoy it. Later, if it doesn't turn you on anymore, at that price you could sell it later and lose little to nothing. Or it would make a very nice trade. I loved the 924's, 944's, one 928s4 and one 911 sc while we were in Germany. Though i preferred the 928 which was deceivingly fast.
  5. Alot of rules about downforce creating objects. Though, CSR's and other factory vehicles with some of these on them will let others get by with them soon enough.
  6. Are they weather proof in case you get caught out in rain?
  7. You are probably right on the car part. The engine however is a different matter. Since its supposed to be a new engine, regardless when built, ford provides a warranty. Though, the cams may have voided that too.
  8. I enjoyed it, but I was more of a sci-fi guy. I got teased time to time, but i loved Hudson Hawk. ewww Menthol!
  9. Having never even considered buying a new one, does it come with a warranty? Being in GA, near some pretty nice tracks I would think that surely there are some shops worth their salt.
  10. I think one of the kit car companies is making a vehicle very similar to the atom, the twin tech is similar. though i thought i saw another. The only ones that I know of for fact are 3rotors and JonW's.
  11. http://www.locostusa.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2881&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight= I am glad that the seven community doesnt do this. Not real sure I understand why either, as those that build replicas are either A-poor and cannot afford one (Me), B-Eccentric and love to build (McBearen and JonW come to mind) or C-Just flat think they can do it better. I prob forgot some but i think more or less most come into those groups. Though I understand there are some seven snobs out there, I has as of yet to meet any. They seem to welcome all cars as driving is the point. The car is just what you do it in. After reading some of the Atom forum rules, it also states your not to talk about other Atom forums either. Uh.....how do you make your car better without exchanging info. No wonder Keiths car was just as good. I still think atoms are a kickass looking ride though.
  12. Well, an LS1 looks to weigh in at 460 lbs (bacomatic number) and i got 512lbs from another forum where he weighed his (2.3T) wet, running including T-5 trans at 521. So minus trans, that puts it in the 440 lbs range. So, counting my trans, intercooler, and rear assembly I will already be heavier than some here more than likely. Thats without a car around the running gear....... So much for lightweight, though, compared to a dealer bought car it will still be light.
  13. Heheh reading on the weights, my 2.3t may weigh more than his v8 doh!
  14. Glad your instinct to catch it wasn't fast enough to let you actually grab it. That wouldve hurt! Glad you and car are ok though!
  15. Don't have the weight for my 2.3, but, i understand it weighs about the same as slngsht's v8.
  16. I think it was fromt he run-n-gun pics. One of the stalkers i think had a nice liiking nerf set up.
  17. Yeah, thanks indeed for walking the wall for us! http://smilies.vidahost.com/contrib/navigator/usa.gif
  18. Kind of a side question, but how exactly is a car considered a "Production" car? Does it have to be so many made, or made by a certain manufacturer?
  19. *Starts wondering why Buzz is going to be hiding Stateside.... :jester:
  20. Heheh I saw his response, at least to the one on ebay.
  21. They were showing some rally stuff from new zealand on the tube today and i saw one. Wicked fast, looked pretty cool too.
  22. There is one in Loudon, not to far from you. Not sure how far you want to travel, but check the frapper map here and at locostusa.com, and some others can probably tell you of some others.
  23. I saw where someone tall dropped the floorpan a bit for more room under his roll bar. See no reason why the same couldn't be done to a footwell. Another used a stainless salad bowl as a sort of bulge in the footwell side near the gas pedal for more room. Lots of tricks to make extra room where you need it. Ill be able to wear my work boots in mine when done, but its a +4.
  24. Almost sounded like a formula start.
  25. Not sure how many, if any would want to. I would be willing to make a donation toward a USA7 purchase of this after which it would be a great resource available to all. LocostV8 offered to scan it, that would be alot of stuff to scan. Not sure if any of this would be messed with due to copyright laws etc. Just seems a simple way to make the information available to all. Now, if a current member is wanting this, I don't want to bid against another either, no sense in driving up the price on ourselves if someone already is intending to do this.
