  1. Been running 100LL Av gas for years in my older vehicles, never had a problem. If I could get high octane non-ethanol at the pump I would use it, but I can't (it's banned in MA). The problems I have found with ethanol fuel, is it ate the stock accelerator pump diaphragm in my Holly and QuickFuel carbs. Solved that by getting the ones for Alcohol drag cars. Then the issue is the old cars have vented fuel systems vs. the new sealed ones (loose gas cap = check engine light), and ethanol is hydroscopic and absorbs water from the air when sitting, as these old cars do. I just drained the tank and rebuilt the carb on car that would not run. I could see the water fuel separation line in the clear fuel filter! Most of the drygas additive are alcohol based and add to the problem.
  2. Yes, I am not sure if the ribs in the hub area are an indicator of what they came off of? I do think they would look good on a Seven, Cortina, or Capri though
  3. Selling four of these for a friend $400 plus shipping
  4. Green Nose cone is long type: $400 Ivey 4 way baffled race pan & pick up for cross flow, (not recommended for road use in a Seven) cost was $950, will take $450 Rear disc set up, with E-brake calipers for English Ford axle: nice set-up, but would not work with stock 13" rims. Burton cost w/o shipping is $525, will take $250 Cortina 4 speed trans make offer Unknown muffler & y-pipe make offer Complete drum to drum, Triumph rear end, set up for Seven w/ welded mounts & Steg plate; make offer No shipping included, prefer local pick up on large items...
  5. Wayne, The twin wishbone suspension may be the same or similar to the DSK ones I have on mine. I have not seen another Seven with them. Look forward to seeing photos of your project. Vin
  6. A friend of mine has 4 of these. Are they what you are looking for?
  7. Per Tony Weales book, They would bend them for those clearance issues. Not sure why the photo from Caterham has them still straight...
  8. Better photo of Handbrake lever
  9. Very cool show and site. Imagine the roar of blast furnaces in it's heyday! Your car looks great and as a muscle car guy too, I like the 69 Roadrunner with the "Dust trail" stripe too!
  10. Going to work on it, thank you for the inputs!
  11. Both using only stock holes in frame
  12. Idea #1: small cable pulley (to reverse and pull action), mounted to a fabbed bracket with the cable sheath stop further under the tunnel. Idea #2: Fabbed bracket with a cable sheath stop and a tab welded on the handle side of the lever to attach the cable to.
  13. I am thinking they modified someone elses or made their own. The problem I am finding is with the original type, the sheath moved and the cable is fixed. So when you pull the lever, it pushes the sheathing. I have considered fabbing a bracket to adapt to the stock frame mounts and using the brake levers (I have all three other types posted in this blog), but it would just lower the handle in the footwell, which is in stock form intrusive. I am going to borrow the one from my buds 64 Seven and make one this winter. Will post how it turns out. Will have to make the fitting that pushes on the sheath too, brass should do there...
  14. Very Nice Seven as ordered. Lots of history with that dealer ship suppling Sevens here. Even had five 7's in their phone number! Have the best of times with your Seven, V
  15. Still in need of Handbrake lever for my 79. Any info about what they came off of / mods / and a source is greatly appreciated!
  16. Lebrunseven, I will buy it. Will email you. Vinman1
  17. John, Good to hear from you and thanks for the info. Been enjoying the Seven and its mostly sorted out. E brake and wipers still to be resolved. I got an E-brake cable set up (moving sheath type) from a USA Seven member and adjustable screw clamp wiper arms from Moss. Moss did not have 7" blade type wiper blades. Looks like the Hot Rod guys sell a trimmable blade for chopped roof cars. Will hunt for a pre 78 Spit / Herald hand brake handle. Will be trailering the Seven to the British Invasion in Stowe, VT along with a couple other Seven owners and their cars. Looking forward to the cooler weather as the engine runs cool, not so for the driver! Got to wrap the header... Cheers, Vin
  18. Yes, Morgans and also Mercury Capri's are my go to for crossflow parts searches
  19. Scott, Thanks for the info. I will reach out to crazyhorse or Morgan Spares to source. Cheers, V
  20. Maybe you can drill a hole in the arm at the center of the wheelbox shaft, and use a small puller to get them off? Perhaps a bit of never seize I should consider on mine...
  21. Hope all are getting some road time in your Sevens. Ventured out of town in mine to show the car at Heritage plantation in Sandwich, MA. The shake down runs are getting longer! The clamp on wiper arms (Moss # 164-640) look great. Now just need short bayonette style blades. The E brake handle and what car they came from still a mystery... Cheers, V
  22. Dave, Yes, I would like to purchase it. Let me know what shipping cost is and I will send total amount. Is Paypal good? Greatly appreciated, Vin
