Hope all is good. In need of a left hand or pair of polished alloy Windscreen Stanchions. Somehow in the barn find parts that came with my Seven, there are two right hand ones. Think Spring, Vin

Will reach out to him, Thank you!

Thanks guys! The first one is in a town next to me. Its traditionally a late model yard, but I will check with them. Have some other things going too. 1) Another lead on somebody in CA that might have some. 2) someone in my neighborhoods wife is from London. Her nephew buys and sells a lot of stuff on the web there. She reached out to him 3) A friend is sending me some from a Europa, maybe the Ford drum will fit in the lip, and then I could drill them if the back spacing works too. Will keep you posted...

I checked into that and Comet, Falcon as well. They would be 9" or 10" I was told. The added unsprung weight is not good. In any event, could not find those either. There may be some in a Scrap yard 600 miles away. But they said you have come see if you want them for yourself and then remove them yourself. I could make the trip, but it would be expensive, counting the divorce it might cause :)!

Ford wheel bolt pattern is 4 X 4.25" PCD. Triumph is much smaller. My wheels are original KN British made that up until now, had never had tires or valve stems in them. So they have to stay. I have been all over the web for two plus years to many sites, and many emails to the UK, Germany, New Zealand, Australia, and the US, and amazed that for all the hundreds of thousands of Cortina and similar English Fords of similar size produced, that a pair of backing plates, or no cross reference info can be found.

Mr Turner at Turners Auto Wrecking was great, gave me time on the phone, went out in the yard, and checked the Cortina. Unfortunatley, no rear brakes on the Cortina they have. Ken at Dave Bean is checking for me. Did not think of JAE, will contact them. I have a beautiful Leyland Ital axle set up that I can't use because of the Triumph wheel stud spacing. I am going to take some measurements, It may be possible to re-drill the backing plates and drums and use that whole brake set-up on the ford axle. Not a FB person, which seems to be the way everyone is doing it these days. Too much screen time as it is...

Will do, thanks!

Hope all are well. Looking for 8" rear drum brake set up for Ford Cortina rear end. Need backing plates (aka Anchor plates), drums (4 x 4.25" PCD). Been searching for a while, any info / options greatly appreciated. V

Thanks all. Redline is going to check on the kit when they return on 1/3/23. I am hoping that I can cut and re-weld without distorting the axle since the square tube brace is in place. I do have access to a truing bar if needed. Might be easier to buy a Ford axle housing all set up, and put in my pig and axles if there are any out there.? Happy New year to all, V

I believe it is a Cortina axle. The axle came with all the parts from the barn the car was in forty years. I need to relocate the welded on brackets to resolve a clearance issue. Was hoping to get new brackets rather than trying to cut and reuse the existing. Fast Sevens used to have them but his supplier stopped making them, so reaching out to hopefully find new source or somebody who would want to manufacture / supply them again.

Hey all, Looking for a weld on bracket kit (shock, radius arm, and A frame mounts) for a live axle Seven. Happy & safe New Years to all, V

Not on FB, but that does seem to be the preferred way for many these days. Hoping it was just holiday travel. Best to you, V

Thanks, been reaching out over that time period as well. Busy time of year for everyone, good to know he is still at it!

Does anyone know if Tony Ingram may have retired? I have reached out via email 3 times from 2 accts and have not heard back. He was always very prompt at responding and supplying parts...

FYI on the pic of the wiper motor set up. I slid tygon tubing over the wiper metal tubes and zip tied them, just for added protection between them and wiring

Radius arm length, shock mount location, live axle

MV8, I have seen that drawing with the bolt on shock/radius arm mounts. It does appear to make it easy to adjust pinion angle. The radius arms appear to have a curve upward at the shock mount. Have never seen those type. I agree with that essentially, all these cars are a bit different and removing the springs to set up and test suspension movement is the way to go. Will do this week and let you know how it works out. The other issue with the rear is the width. It is a Ford Escort Mexico which is 1.5" wider than the Ital or Corsica axle. On top of that I did a rear disc brake conversion, because I could not find brake backing plates anywhere for the Ford rear. This added 10-15mm of width due to rotors and required spacers for 13" rim / caliper clearance. The 60's series tires did not help either. I would go to the drum set up if I could find brake backing plates for this rear, perhaps you know of a source? Best, V -
Thanks all, it was a great day, many tears of joy! Hope to meet some fellow Seven owners and members at show and track events. Headed to Stowe VT for the British Invasion for sure, and vintage events, track days, Limerock in CT, Thompson In CT, Palmer in MA, and The Glen in NY are on the bucket list. Hunting for an enclosed trailer... Cheers, V

Radius arm length, shock mount location, live axle

I see, the 4 links are mounted behind center, I'd say at the 1 or 2 Oclock position and the top Radius arm is curved. How long is the bottom arm, bush ctr to bush ctr? -
To follow up. Part # 60027020A from Caterham was made to work with relative ease. Had to shorten and re-flare the tubes between the motor and left wheelbox and the tube between the wheelboxes, and make / flare a longer tube after the right wheelbox. No big deal at all. With shipping, still worked out better than getting just the motor (with no core return) this side of the pond V

Looking for info on the various lengths of Radius arms and Ford axle weld position for shock / radius arm locations for Sevens. Mine is a live axle car and I am questioning the rearward position of the axle and wing clearance. Most I see are at the 12 O'clock position relative to the axle center. Mine are at the 10 or 11 position. Perhaps they were set for a 4 link? Greatly appreciated, V

Hope all are doing well. Had the "reveal" day for the Seven with Lars family, friends and fellow car addicts. It was a great sunny day with a good time had by all and only tears of joy! Having got to this point, the best advise I can give to anyone who takes on a car build project is to: 1) Seek out the best clubs and join them. In this case, could not have done it without all the help from USA'7s, Simple Sevens, and the Cape Cod British car club. Cheers to all and hope to pass on some lessons learned to pay it forward! 2) If you don't know how to fabricate either learn quick or find someone close by who can, you will need to fabricate some items from scratch, in my case it was brackets for fuel pump, fuel filter, throttle linkage, cooling fan mount, radiator mount, alternator mount, clutch feed hose bracket, cover, roll bar mounts, fuse box mount, and transmission mount, etc. Many thanks to all, hope to meet swap stories in person!
