Headlight replacement/upgrade---IE: Holley Retrobright
Rodnok replied to mrmustang's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Would that be an application for a Rivnut? -
Looks like a high speed curb strike - Sad...

'Tis the (upgrade) season! What are you doing?
Rodnok replied to JohnCh's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Decided I couldn't wait any longer for the completion of my S2 and in October picked up the 08 Birkin GullyGully had listed here. I'm just getting to know the car but am quite impressed thus far. The Birkin had been very well maintained with nice attention to detail in the build. I was able to move the throttle pedal about 1/2 inch to the right, vastly improving my ability to contact only one pedal at a time. As I'm in Arizona I'm still able to drive the car on most days and I do. I'll be going over all of the routine maintenance items starting in January and we'll see what surprises are lurking beneath the skin. I'm not sure if I really need two Sevens in my garage but the Birkin is well set up for track days and a stock 1965 Lotus Seven might well be a hazard on a racetrack. -
Never gotten any, didn't know that was a possibility

You might check with Chris at Sevens & Elans. He was able to come up with one for my S2 restoration. -
Deposit In. Questions for Senior Drivers
Rodnok replied to rider's topic in General Sevens Discussion
When I purchased my Series 2 Seven in a basket I was 71. I'm now 74 and anxiously awaiting the seller to complete the restoration that was expected to take a year. My primary transportation has always been motorcycles but 've wanted a Seven since I was a teenager but the time was never right. I honestly can't imagine a time when I'll be too old to manage or enjoy driving a Seven just as I also expect to continue riding although I may reduce the size and weight of the bikes as my strength inevitably decreases. I've waited way to long to have a Lotus Seven and for me a degree of challenge or discomfort just adds to the overall experience. I've ridden my Vespa from northern AZ to San Francisco multiple times over the last few years, stopping only for fuel and seem to thrive in the discomfort. Men in my family often live well into their 90's and remain functional til the end. I'm hoping to continue that trend. -
1962 Lotus Super Seven Clutch Master Cylinder
Rodnok replied to TEM's topic in General Sevens Discussion
I'm certainly no authority but in my billing for parts from Chris at Sevens & Elans I have a .75" brake master cylinder for my S2. -
The Seven is not yet in my possession although I've technically owned it for a couple of years. The paneled chassis arrived at Chris T's shop just last week and I expect to be driving the car at some point this year. I'm also in the early weeks of the 35% group, got my first sports car (a 55 Speedster) 57 years ago.

Making the Turn Signal Switch Look Like the Other Switches

beautifully done. Looks factory. -
Wow, that looks absolutely gorgeous. I'm adding that to my list of places to visit once the Seven is finished. Are you listening Chris?

I moved out of Berkeley 23 years ago, planning to be in Arizona for a year or two. I quickly realized that I'll never be able to afford to go back. I've missed the bay area every day since...Congrats on finally pulling the trigger on a Caterham. I'm sure that's one move you'll never regret.

In aviation it would be referred to as a fairing.

Beautiful work! You should be very proud. I, on the other hand am more than a little jealous.

Great drive, beautiful 7 and awesome video quality - made my day as I await the completion of my own seven. Thank you

HI Jonathan, Thanks for the heads-up. Had I known about your car a month earlier I would have likely jumped on it however I'm having Chris at Sevens & Elans restore a 65 S2 for me as we speak. If I could afford two I would certainly consider yours as it could be a year before Chris finishes the S2 and I'm chompin at the bit. Thanks again and good luck, Rodnok

Thanks, I'm so excited that I can't sleep or stop smiling. I'm like a kid waiting for Santa...

Thanks again for the heads-up about Chris at Sevens and Elans. He will be building/restoring a 1965 7 for me. Exactly what I was hoping to find. HO! HO! HO! Mark, AKA Rodnoc

Hi and thanks for your message and spectacular photo. I just got off the phone with Chris and we are close to making a deal. Everyone on the site has been so helpful with this - what a great group of people. Chris is the enthusiasts enthusiast. I'm really looking forward to working with him. Happy motoring in that gorgeous ride - I'm a little jealous... Mark, aka RodNok

No time to build, I want to drive. Location not an object for the right car. I'm in northern AZ not far from Las Vegas. Any leads will be most appreciated.
