  1. Received images of my 420R, getting prepped to be shipped! Might be in a container waiting on a boat by now!
  2. Oooo, good tip on the syringe, I will have to remember that.
  3. That looks like it was great. With an unlimited budget, an Emira looks like a great car to have. Yours looked the best though!
  4. Oh man, I disagree on your assessment of "the youth" and what they're interested in. The newer generation is DEFINITELY into vintage. Vintage shops are all the rage, calling something "polyester" is saying it's fake and inauthentic, look at the backlash to AI in general. I see a lot of kids at the local high school buying Kei trucks because they're cool. I just don't think it's a fuel/powertrain thing, it's a price thing for the youth. You're totally right on the lack of powertrains though, that's a way bigger problem. The biggest bonus for running an EV conversion these days is the size of the packaging, it means you can fit more horsepower in a smaller package (see axial flux motors that are finally getting made), they'll be more interchangeable between vehicles, and that's going to open up a lot of options.
  5. Good choice. That's going to look amazing.
  6. Now the real question.... is the gas gauge accurate?! Also, wow, those look stellar. Is the trim polished aluminum or something else?
  7. They are 420Rs. It sounded like this was a last minute addition to the F1 race too, my 420R build got bumped so they could work on them last minute. They’re good looking cars!
  8. What an experience. I watched a bit of the race online, what a photo finish today. Seems like you need to hide a vinyl Nessie logo somewhere on the car when you get it!
  9. Wow!!! Amazing looking, can’t wait until you can drive it!
  10. @11BudliteWOW those are LOOKERS. Amazing. I really want to know if it helps with heat in the cabin. I'm in Houston, TX and anything that keeps the footwell a bit cooler is high on my list of things to do.
  11. Thank you, I’m going to use this for mine!
  12. Man that’s so cool! While I’m waiting on my kit I’ve been experimenting again with my CNC and a diamond drag. This is my Company’s logo for now, but I used some anodized aluminum business card blanks. I need to rerun it with some titanium blanks to see how that looks. I used to do my business card with these when anybody cared about that sort of thing. Can you share the profile image of the Caterham you used?
  13. Oh man that looks like a blast, we need to do that in Texas.
  14. Josh is helping me get one for Houston heat too, he might be able to help you. Rocky Mountain Caterham.
  15. Nice! And in matching yellow too!
  16. Makes sense!! Good luck on the sale, that’s a great looking car.
  17. Hmmm…. what are you asking for the trailer? I need a trailer for my wife’s art business, and I’m trying to get one that I can have so double duty with the car.
  18. @acoffing, I see in the listing you mention a trailer available too. Any details on that?
  19. Thanks @mccasksl! My kit is complete at Caterham HQ, so depends on how quickly it gets on a boat. Maybe 45-60 days total? I’m going to have a ton of build questions no doubt, my Dad & I rebuilt a ‘73 TR6, but that’s the entirety of my automotive build experience. I’ll keep everyone in the loop as I put it together and I won’t be shy with questions!
  20. I’m just North of Spring in the Tomball area, up US 249. Frontage Roads and Toll Roads as far as the eye can see. I’m going to need to go North more into the Conroe/Plantersville area when I want to go out. Otherwise I’m going to take it to Downtown Houston for work! You are a brave man @hahuang65 for driving in Houston with just the aeroscreen, one of my biggest worries for the car is if it’s even moderately comfortable and drivable in 105 degree heat, let alone getting smacked by 80mph stones on I45. I really like the center mount idea there, especially how impermanent it is. I already picked up a Beeline and have a 3D model of the clip with a screw hole, but I just paid for my drivetrain this weekend so I’ve definitely put the cart before the horse in having it. lol
  21. Congratulations!!
  22. Welcome! I ordered in early Dec from Josh and mine is done but sitting waiting on a container. You’re going to have a lot of fun!!
  23. That’s good to hear!
