  1. I hope to have her done by Christmas. Thanks for the comments. Please keep in mind NOTHING has been torqued other than the driveshaft, differential, and engine mounts.
  2. I've been updating the website in lieu of posting here. Comments are always welcome. :ack:
  3. It's back up and running at the original link I posted. I guess it was on their end. I had withdrawals! :jester: Thanks!
  4. Not sure if anyone in this group (but me) frequents the Westfield Sports Car Club website or not, but it seems to have vanished. It's replaced by a communications company website? It's normally: http://boardroom.wscc.co.uk/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi ? If you point your browser here, http://boardroom.wscc.co.uk, it's the company website. It just started today.
  5. 11/14/08, when I picked the kit up in New Orleans, LA and I trailered it home. :hurray:
  6. Ton of work over the past few days. I put together a quick website: http://www.hanksmegabusa.com
  7. I'm going to use the Westfield reverse box, and WHEN it starts leaking (I give it five minutes *laugh*) I will replace the drive shaft/reverse box assembly with two driveshafts and a CV joint. I will attach a ring gear to the crankshaft hub and fabricate a bracket for a starter motor sliding assembly. Louisiana doesn't have strict laws for "stratch built" vehicles. I could have a slide plate and move the car ala Fred Flintstone if I wanted to. Click here for my inspiration on the electric reverse. Bailey Morris is a UK source to fab the new driveshaft assemblies, but a local fab shop offered to do it in exchange for website work. I can't argue with that! I really can't wait for the Pro Shift paddle setup. That and the turbo kit next summer. 300whp and 875lb total weight. WOO WHOOO! I'm ordering "POWR 2 W8" or "POWR2W8" as a license plate.
  8. Very good day. I actually have a pretty good system going to find bolts for the specific task at hand. A lot of empty boxes to throw away now, but I'll hold them until I'm done in case something is lost in one of them. :ack: Things I completed today: Front Suspension Rear Suspension Rear Differential Rear driveshaft Reverse Box Steering Rack I am still constructing my build website. It has not been released yet because I'm having too much fun building the car! =)
  9. I think my Megabusa was built on a Monday. Lot of missing parts. Either that or a pretty large box o' bits fell off in the Atlantic. It's a helluva good time building it though!
  10. It has begun! http://www.henry-bell.com/megabusa/images/111408/crate01.jpg http://www.henry-bell.com/megabusa/images/111508/01.jpg
  11. Team Dynamics is lagging behind on creating a batch (400 units) of 13" wheels for me to run track days. In the meantime, I have ordered a 15" set of Team Dynamics wheels for my street tires.
  12. Is the first picture HDR? Nice pics!
  13. Beautiful. I want to see some video of it!
  14. Beautiful picture. I think that's background worthy on ye ole desktop for a while.
  15. Damn, Kevin, are you renting the Vette per mile? How much is that gonna cost. :ack: Good luck!
  16. Pardon my ignorance on the shipping, but when I see the word "container" I think of a ship. Could these parts not be shipped by AIR? I would hope the dry sump oiling system that I am ordering from SBD in England is to be shipped 2-day via DHL air.
  17. I watched it several times and I tried to determine what gear he was in. I couldn't. I'm guessing he went from 2nd to 1st (thinking it was 3rd). Ouch indeed.
  18. Nice video. Needs more boost. What's the red button on the steering wheel do? I thought it might be a scramble boost, but the boost gauge did not go any higher after he pressed it than what it was already on.
  19. I just had to find out where Gary lived after seeing an AIRPLANE in his garage. I've heard of subdivisions that border airfields. Heck, it was even on an episode of CSI Miami back in the day. It's probably the one with the 2 planes pointing North.
  20. I emailed Holeshot to see if they can update their car gallery. None of the pictures enlarge for me and they are not clickable. I'm very interested in the orange Megabusa in that gallery! I would like the turbo kit I purchase next spring to sit inside the bodywork for my Megabusa.
  21. Beautiful car! Great pictures.
  22. To my knowledge the only 2-post lifts made in the USA are BendPak and Rotary. There might be a newcomer since I bought my lift 2 years ago, however.
  23. That is one helluva car you have there! One question: Why doesn't your wife wear a helmet when she's a passenger while you slalom? :leaving:
  24. 31 year old Mechanical Engineer here. I'm currently a consulting engineer with a firm that has jumped on upgrading as many refineries as possible in the current boom. I've been on the same project for 3 years upgrading Marathon's Garyville, LA refinery. Did I mention the project budget is $3.2 billion? I'm a graduate of LSU. My senior project was a Formula SAE (Mini Indy) car. Married, no kids. I've had a broad range of vehicles. Del Sol, Eclipse FWD, Eclipse AWD (drag / autox), Subaru WRX, '04 Mustang Cobra (free way killer), '06 EVO IX RS (autox class leader), and soon to be Westfield Megabusa. Since I have a 2-post lift in my garage I enjoy working on my own vehicles as well as helping others out. I'm really dying at the moment because I got rid of the EVO in March and I haven't had another race car since. Once the Megabusa kit arrives in November I hope to complete it before Thanksgiving. After that I hope to become more active in local clubs, races, and especially USA7s.org!
  25. Bad news, my garage has A/C & heat. Between the 2-car and the 1-car w/lift it's 1500sf. The most expensive part was $2200 for the Amarr garage doors. 7evin: The Megabusa kit won't arrive until the 1st week of November. Can I watch you race? Where at, the EVO Center?
