  1. I took the spare wheel off for a run the other day. I noticed the reduced weight and I think there was less wind buffetting due to the smoother rear surface. Think I will go without and eventually design a removable tire rack for long journeys

  3. lots of squirt with that car!
  4. watch that video at 2:30. That Quattro lays 150 feet of rubber from all 4 tires while sideways on asphalt. Serious HP
  5. you should post your youtube videos
  6. Made by my passenger using his iPhone Music is "The Race" by Yello http://youtu.be/jV4Bt87yFWM
  7. I'm no expert, but I think you may be better off with a kit car registration. Otherwise you face drive clean etest requirements and other nasty requirements
  8. Just wanted to say thanks for all the feedback. I packed her full of parts and tools. After 1000km over a weekend without a hickup, I'm more confident in her touring ability. She was a big hit at watkins glen vintage fest. Comment heard a few times at gas stations in western NY;" hey Mister, is that some kinda dune buggie?"
  9. Its got a 7 on it....happy 44th to me. My wife knows what makes me tick!
  10. amazing experience - check out some of my shots at:http://www.flickr.com/photos/86999381@N04/sets/72157631491465696/ To walk up and stand next to a 917, 956 and a 962 all in the same room. To listen to a flat 12 917 start up and drive away on a public road...truly special
  11. The automatic transmission certainly raises eyebrows. What I would say is that for a small manufacturer it makes sense to maximize sales. We want this company to remain healthy and keep producing great cars. If that means producing the odd automatic car then so be it. My wife for example has back problems that make driving an automatic uncomfortable. There are probably some folks in a similar bind.
  12. A good place to check on tire feedback for that size is the pelicanparts BBS. I use to own a Porsche 911 with 205/45/16 tires. You can be sure to get a massive amount of great info off of that site
  13. I would say a zetec or xflow caterham is high teens to low twenties. The non-standard drivetrain probably takes $3-5K off that. I'm not an expert...just my own view
  14. Canadian 7, pls let me know. Someone from the club has asked to be 2nd in line if you are not interested in the grill Cheers
  15. My 60mph reads at about 77mph. Of course that also means my odometer is spinning too fast to!
  16. These are the only photos I have at the office. I will not be home till Monday. Its an original grill and I have since spray painted the grill black and the "7" yellow. The link is of the grill when I first bought the car. The photo below is after I painted it up http://usa7s.com/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=2689&d=1295899719
  17. I have one in mississauga from my 89' S3 Caterham if you want it either to test fit or to buy. I switched to the older style non-7 logo version. I'm away this weekend but around next week
  18. not sure the pressure cap spec. I will check it out Thanks for the insights!
  19. Hmmm...I'm sure some money was made, but then again the seller contacted Terry likely knowing that Terry had access to buyers to facilitate a quick sale. If this is an important car, then it is a good thing it is going to a UK collector so it can hopefully be showcased publically to an audience where the importance of "1st" S3 will bring the most oohs and ahhs. Just providing a counterview
  20. Normally she runs around 90 degrees. In slow traffic it moves up to 100-110. Is over 120 a major concern? I have a dry sump and oil cooler so the oil stays cool
