Sounds like the standard Ford ECU that Caterham USA used in that period on the SVT Zetec. I got familiar with it when I owned a 2004 Caterham SV. Its a quality ECU. OBDII readable (although with some expected fault codes - fuel tank and emission control fails). Far more sophisticated and advanced than the MBE ECU supplied with new Caterhams today - a case of mid-90s Ford OEM technology being better than the relatively primitive MBE model used by Caterham. The problem is exactly as @MV8 identified - there will be nothing on the shelf for a tune. There is a forum member, who is a tuning vendor, who will likely be along shortly to talk about his solution. He will have one pathway for you. But the other approach is an after market ECU as suggested by MV8 which requires a fair amount of effort. The tune itself is going to take time but some modification to the Caterham wiring harness is also on the cards. For example, I don't think that older model had wide band lambda which is going to be desirable for tuning. There is an old thread from Athens7 (no longer an active member) back in 2007 who was trying to get performance upgrades on the SVT. He ran into a world of pain just trying to tune for an upgraded camshaft supplied by Caterham USA. I cannot find all of the discussion but one key piece was here: Keep in mind, this was for just a camshaft upgrade and not ITBs but it shows the challenge that will need to be navigated. I thought it particularly notable that Variable Cam Timing was being locked out with the new tune. Thats a big loss in making a shift. I never heard of the final outcome for this but assumed he got there in the end. It was this discussion that made me look to changing Caterhams to a Duratec in order to get a power upgrade pathway. It looked too hard to get the promised hp gains without spending a lot of money. Can I ask a question back - what are you looking for from the power upgrade? Do you have an objective in mind or is this just opportunistic given you saw the kit and thought (like all sensible men on USA7s - including me!) that more power would be cool?

The issue with fogging is that with the top up and the sidescreens on you have created your classic prison sauna. Heat from the engine bay and humidity all round combines to be the fogging agent, particularly with a cold stream of air on the other side of the windscreen. The only real solution is to find a way to vent some of the hot humid air out and replace with some cool external air. Side screen ajar? Lower attachment point released? Rear window unzipped? You will have to experiment with your hood. Definitely rainx worked for me. Needs reapplying frequently - will not last more than a few weeks at most. Its superficial paint damage. I would leave it as is or race tape it. That should not fail tech - it still has structural integrity. In the mean time order a new one and get it paint matched. I would get it sent out unpainted and have it professionally matched here. A few of us have had experience of Caterham not being able to match paint colors over time. At least here you guarantee a good chance of matching.

To be fair it was not my word choice - that is the actual name coined by GM Holden for the interior. I do miss how the colors were so vibrant in the past and now are so muted by comparison. One thing I do not miss is the hard cheap quality plastics. One false move and you can crack the plastic which is unreplaceable these days.

Sort of. Broadly the connections are as follows. The 80s Commodore was derived from the 1977 Opel Commodore out of Germany. GM thought a straight copy would work but the first test cars from Germany broke in 2 within a few days of driving on Australian roads. So the Opel Commodore was essentially redesigned ground up to make it survive the local Australian roads. It ended up being a very different car under the skin as a result. The Lotus Carlton/Opel Omega were 1990-92. and were based on the later evolution of the 1977 Opel Commodore, being the Opel Omega introduced in 1985. The replacements had a family resemblance but were very different under the skin - longer. So the Opel Commodore became the Opel Omega which Vauxhall then badge engineered for the UK as the Vauxhall Carlton and that was the base for the Lotus Carlton. New platform completely. The Opel Commodore derived Holden Commodore VB to VL models lasted 1979 to 1988. The Holden Commodore then went a different direction for the 1989 VN model. It was loosely based on the Opel Omega but it was lengthened and widened. They were a noticeably larger car than the European cars and the styling went in a more rounded aero direction than the Euro cars reflecting the it was being styled a few years later than the Opel and rounded shapes became the fashion by then.

Yes - they are your classic Chev 350 mods and while the Holden 304/308 is a ground up design that owes more to Buick/Olds 283, the same mods work to lower the top end pressure. Frustratingly I have done those mods and still have a top end pressure issue. Back to the oil drum catch tank approach to vent a 2 inch hose from the heads. Just not much room in the engine bay to do much with on a massive catch tank.

My Caterham roll bar (FIA/track day with double diagonals) has the two inspection holes drilled as standard. I bet that is the same if you ordered one new today. It is a UK racing requirement. Are you sure yours does not? My third brake light is wired inside the roll bar using a drilled hole. No one has ever challenged it.
