1. It is pretty funny. But, I have had On-Star check in a couple times when running our Solstice on Autocross courses. Not sure how to fix it, but as an attempt, I bought a Seven clone w/out On-Star! No more messages!:hurray: Anyone want a pristine Solstice GXP for a good price?? Scott
2. What kind of cookie??? Was there coconut in it? I love coconut! I could make a deal..... of course, I would have to check with my wife. She is Lord & Master now:willy_nilly: Actually, I am in the final stages of installing the power steering. If everything works, I am screwed! I have the MR2 pump mounted, power steering Chevette rack installed and hoses on. Now, just the wiring. Psssst.... down here... just between us guys...I may install a hidden on/off switch so I can ... you know... uh... selectively apply the benefits of power steering:devil: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/snookwheel/P1040904.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/snookwheel/P1040907.jpg
3. That looks great! Nice work. I got my first leg burn within 15 minutes of owning my Stalker. A heat shield might be a good idea for me too. Scott
4. That is not too far from where I live! I'll have to go check it out. Scott
5. Same problem with the link here.
6. Florida State SCCA Autocross Championships! Being held in Sebring this coming Saturday and Sunday! I know there will be two Stalkers there. Anyone else coming with a 7esque car? http://cfrsolo2.com/ Scott
7. Would you settle for 12 cylinders of Mahogany Fury?:driving: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/snookwheel/hand-built-wooden-ferrari-engine-1.jpg
8. That is a VERY cool ride! Strip the wood down and give it a few coats of Z-Spar and it would be unbelievable! Scott
9. Projects: Raise Roll Bar height and add power steering. I am going to use a chevette rack and a gen. 3 Toyota MR2 Spyder power steering pump. Just waiting for the pump to arrive! AutoX with the fat sticky tires really gives a work out. Scott
10. Powderbrake, you hit it right on the head! She is the Queen of smooth! However, for TODAY!!!..... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/snookwheel/happychimp.jpg REDEMPTION!!!! The Time/Space Continuum has been restored. For the time being at least. I fear that I may be posting again soon.. But for today, the balance has been restored. But only by 1/2 second:blush:
11. Well, at least there is a chance to redeem myself tomorrow. Today was a test and tune, tomorrow is points.... uh oh, there goes the timer. Gotta go get the chicken wings out of the oven and get her a cold drink...:smilielol5: I do have to agree, I am lucky to have her enjoy it so much. It does make it easy to hit a lot of events!
12. I am offering up one recently neutered and beaten down Male Ego. Although I suspected that this day would eventually arrive... it happened much sooner than I expected. Be that as it is, the time has come to part with what has for many years been a functional, perhaps over blown Male Ego. I am sure that with the right owner and proper encouragement, it can be brought back to it's previous levels. I am willing to let this go cheap. It really has no future value to me. In fact, it has been removed from it's normal place and now resides in a small jar on my Wife's bookshelf. I am not looking for much. Perhaps a bag of soft foam ear plugs, or a set of ear-muffs or anything else that blank out unwanted sounds such as "WOOO HOOOO, Who's yer MAMMA? Can't touch this..etc...etc..... As evidence of my willingness to part with this 'no longer useful' piece of my make up.... I present one of TWO runs by my wife, both of which beat my best time. (not enough body count for course workers at todays practice event, so everyone had to deal with some downed cones) Open to offers.... in it's shrunken state, shipping will be minimal... Yellow_Colorz_PDT_08 PSSSTTT.... Mary...., down here......just between you and me....... there is still tomorrow...
13. Tampa is where my office is. I am traveling to Ft. Lauderdale this week. I'll put in a request for good weather in Tampa for you before I head South!
14. Wow.That is one beautiful car! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/snookwheel/1968Healey.jpg
15. Thanks. She really enjoys it.It has brought out a competitive side in her that I have rarely seen over 25 years together! We have a two day event at the same location next weekend and then in two weeks, a two day event at Sebring. After that, the car will be out of commission for a week or so while I change out the manual steering for a power steering setup. The 10" wide slicks are pretty tough for her to turn.
16. I am guessing 1968. The Big Healey!
17. The local BMW club put on an Autocross last Sunday at the Brooksville-Hernando Airport (Florida). Very grippy surface and a fast course. Looking at the tach, I should have shifted into 4th on the return stretch. My speedometer seems to just wander above 3,000 rpm. Gotta figure that out. Still learning to drive this thing! My wife is getting FAST! She will be smoking me soon if I don't step it up! Launching in second, running in third. Video of one of my wife's runs: One of mine:
18. The mounting surface of a wheel????:driving:
19. I did not see a response to this question yet. So, here's my 2 cents. I haul a 24 X 8 haulmark trailer with my Stalker and living type quarters up front. The way I look at it, on a tandem axle trailer, what ever takes out one tire has a very good chance of taking out the one right next to it too. I carry two spares, a good size bottle jack and some pieces of 2X4 and 4X4 that really come in handy when changing a tire on a soft shoulder. Unfortunately, I am speaking from experience re having to change tires on the side of the road. I really like the look of your new trailer. Don't let lack of a spare(s) screw up a trip for you.
20. Enjoyed the video! Beautiful ride. I sure wish we had roads like that around here. Thanks for sharing. Scott
21. I don't know if it is the same track. This one is located at Gainesville Raceway, right by the drag strip used for Gator Nationals. It would be a good cart track either way!
22. Thanks folks. I don't know what the issue is with the video's. Maybe BlipTV just does not play well with this server. Anyway, it seems that clicking on the wording between the pictures vs. the picture does work. Here's a couple of my wife and I running shot from outside. It is a pretty cool set up. Using a mini road course as an autocross set-up. We are learning to drive the Stalker. It is strange to be able to let the engine just lumber along, using the low end torque to make it work. ....Had it with BlipTV, switched the video's to YouTube Mary: Me: And one of gentlman named Jack. His son Rick built the Super Stalker. It is a work of art inside and out! Real nice. Can't wait until the next one! Dale emailed that his new kit should ship in a week or two. He has to be chomping at the bit. Scott
23. I am not sure why it is doing that! If you click on the wording on top of the video picture, the Stalker video comes up. Very strange!
24. It was run on a mini road course at the Gainesville Speedway. Both my wife and I drove the Super Stalker. A great time. 63 drivers. Missed FTD by under 2/10ths. Here's an in car video of one of the runs: Click on the "Stalker in Gainseville 8-24-09" wording on the top, not the play button on the bottom.... Gotta figure out how to turn off the ads.. Stalker in Gainsville 8-24-09 Scott
